Dr. Kilgo graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in biology from Loyola University of Chicago in 1989 and later received his MD from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He went on to complete a general surgery internship and residency at the University of Wisconsin. After residency, Dr. Kilgo received additional training with a focus on breast and vascular surgery at the Gloucestershire Hospitals in the United Kingdom, where he served as a visiting surgical fellow for one year. After that, he completed a plastic surgery residency at Indiana University. Dr. Kilgo completed an additional year of subspecialty training in cancer reconstruction at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Kilgo has been the recipient of numerous awards recognizing his clinical expertise and academic achievements. For the past 2 years he has been named to the prestigious list of “Top Doctors in the NY Metro Area” by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd, a group nominated by their peers and considered to be among the top 10-15% of physicians in their specialty. In addition, Dr. Kilgo has also been named to the “Best Doctors in America” list based on polling of over 45,000 physicians in the United States.
