He has over 24 years of experience in healthcare and has worked in a wide array of settings taking care of geriatrics, adults, and pediatric patients. Through this experience, he has developed a compassion for wanting to help and treat individuals with mental health concerns. He believes the best possible outcomes can be provided through a variety of different treatment options tailored to each individual including medication management with components of cognitive-behavioral and supportive therapy. He believes that developing a strong therapeutic relationship with his clients and working together as a team is the best way to maximize outcomes.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys spending his time with family and rooting for local sports teams. He also enjoys being a foodie and traveling the world and being exposed to different cultures.
What should a new client know about working with you?
The ideal client in psychiatry is one who is committed to their mental health journey, actively participating and open to change. Their needs revolve around support, understanding, coping mechanisms, and guidance, all aimed at reducing symptoms, improving relationships, fostering personal growth and enhancing life satisfaction.
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, my role is blending the art of empathy with the science of medicine. This is accomplished by building trust and rapport with my patients, providing comprehensive assessments, providing personalized care plans, medication management, psychotherapy, identifying crisis interventions, and providing education and empowerment.
I understand how daunting it can be to take that first step towards seeking help. It is ok to feel vulnerable, uncertain, or even overwhelmed. My mission is to stand by your side, offering empathy, support, and guidance.
