Michele has been practicing dermatology as a board certified Nurse Practitioner in the Delaware area since 2017. She specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic dermatologic conditions encompassing skin, hair and nails, including skin cancers. Michele is a native Delawarean and moved out of state shortly after graduating from the University of Delaware in 1993. She received her nursing degree from Otterbein University in Westerville Ohio and worked as a registered nurse in hematology/oncology at James Cancer Hospital/Ohio State Wexner Medical Center Columbus, OH. She returned to the state of Delaware in 2014 to be near her family and to pursue an advanced degree in nursing. While obtaining her Masters and Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Wilmington University, she worked as an RN in outpatient procedures. Michele’s passion to pursue the specialty of dermatology stemmed from her own father’s experience with skin cancer. Her father had a growing squamous cell carcinoma but the earliest appointment in dermatology for evaluation was 3 months out. Delaware’s need for more dermatology practitioners was evident and Michele chose to dedicate all her specialty practicum studies to dermatology. Today, her mission is to make time in her schedule for patients with concerning or changing skin lesions. She teaches patients how to recognize potential skin cancers on themselves and others. By arming people with knowledge, more skin cancers can be detected earlier and treated before progressing. Michele continues to advance her knowledge and her immediate academic goals include obtaining additional Board Certification in the specialty area of dermatology. Michele is a member of the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners and Dermatology Nurses Association. She has specialty training and experience with cosmetic procedures, including peels, microneedling, fillers and Botox. Michele has actively participated in free skin cancer screening

I really needed a Dermatologist. I have been dealing with skin problems all my life. Everyone else I tried to see had a waiting list, I didnt have time for that because my hands where looking aweful. She's very profressional and polite. She's also very knowledgeable.

The office receptionist was so friendly; very tolerant of the fact that I forgot to put in my hearing aids! The office was very neat, and had a calming atmosphere. When I went back, and signed a couple of required documents, the doctor came in. She was very clear in her suggestions to me for treatment of existing issues, and she was very thorough in her examination. I was very pleased with my first experience, and I will definitely recommend Michele Kasien to my friends!
