Dr. Guttierrez is great. She is very professional and has an excellent bedside manner. The place is not cozy. The lobby is tiny and the rooms/equipment are outdated. My appointment was rescheduled twice. I was told I would be getting biopsy results called in to me. Then called two weeks later as instructed and was told I'd have to schedule an appointment in another two weeks. Waiting a month to find out if you have cancer is not acceptable.
The worst doctors visit I have every experience. Not to mention the rude receptionist named Christina who thinks she's the manager there? hmmm such a scam
The waiting room was horrible, so hot, I don't know why the ac wasn't on. My back was literally dripping with sweat.. My appointment was 10:45, didn't get seen until 12:30ish.. Ridiculous. But the doctor was amazing. The waiting just made me mad
This was my first visit to an OBGYN office. I don't have anything to base the wait time on, but I did wait about an hour to an hour and a half. I had 2 visits here and both times the wait was about this long. Pros: The nurse practitioner that did my exam was nice and did her best to make me feel comfortable, the Pap Smear was just unpleasant. For my concerns, she was able to schedule a Pelvic Exam for me. I didn't see Dr. Gutierrez until my visit for the results. She was nice and professional and able to refer me out to get other tests done. Cons: The wait was an hour and a half, and I only saw the doctor for 3 mins! The front desk staff never got back to me when I called their office and left messages with my name and number. It was supposed to be the follow up about the second Pelvic Exam results so I decided to look for a new doctor. Some of the front desk staff were nice, but there was one person who gave me an attitude. She was supposed to call and help me schedule an exam, they were already running late, I had expressed that I needed to go to class. She said it would take 2 minutes so I waited. 10 minutes later she still hadn't called, she gave me an attitude and said she was just about to do it, like I was being rude for not being able to wait. I didn't make a big deal, she gave me the number so I can schedule it myself. In retrospect, may be I should have made a big deal because I shouldn't have been treated like that. I might have recommended the practitioners I saw, but I think the main thing boils down to being able to have access to your doctor when you need. Discussing the results with the doctor is really important, but I wasn't even able to schedule with her. It may be the confusion of having 3 locations. Each time I call I keep getting redirected. I see the doctor at the San Diego clinic, so I use that number, but then I keep getting transferred to the National City clinic and a voice mail message, in which I don't get call backs after leaving messages. It is very frustrating.
The receptionist was not friendly. After I waited 1 hour, I politely asked if she knew how much longer it would be. She seemed annoyed that I asked, She said "5 or 10 minutes, we are just waiting for a room." So have a seat, you are next. She was not apologetic or friendly. Not once did she smile at any of the patients. The very sweet and friendly nurse did explain that the Dr had an emergency and they had to call someone to see the patients. She apologized for my long wait. I appreciated the explaination.
Super disappointing- this was my third reschedule appt- one time because I went to the San Diego location and the office was closed! They could not find my chart, the paperwork I did online meant nothing so I had to redo everything, and my appointment was at 10 am- even though I arrived at 9:40am I actually did not have my exam until 11:10am.
She is very sweet and sincere
The doctor was informative and made the experience fine. But the wait was over 2 hours and the office wasn't even busy. The nurse spoke briefly and softly to the point that I was not sure what she wanted me to do or what she was asking me. As this was my first time visiting a OBGYN it made me uncomfortable. The whole staff was not very informative or helpful at all really.
After my appt I was given a prescription for pain. The prescription was typed on a white piece of plain copier paper instead of on the regular, legal, Rx Pads with Safety & Fraud deterrents which is the only way a narcotic, Schedule III Class drug is to be written. The Pharmacist laughed at me when I took to get filled & wouldnt fill it. I called Dr Guiterrez-Mendoza office & they said they had run out of prescription pads! And the Physician Asst who wrote it was gone for the whole day, nobody was there to fill prescriptions???They also said they would get an Associate to write a new prescription & fax over to my pharmacy & never did. It was a Friday so I spent the entire weekend in pain, needlessly. No one even called to tell me!! Worst Patient Care, Nobody follows through with what they say. Very, very disappointed. Will never go back.
She's very personable and understanding about symptoms. I feel like she really took the time to listen to my concerns and addressed everything accordingly.
Really nice staff.
Actually, I am not seeing Dr. Mendoza. When I got there I learned she was on leave. I was able to see another instead, Dr. Tiffany Wong. She is a great doctor. Professional and attentive. The office and staff are very professional. Very nice environment.
They didn't have my zocdoc appt or paperwork even thought I got a confirmation. After I did everything all over again in the office and waited an hour, they found it. The purpose of me using this service was to avoid all that.
Great doctor, and great staff, definitely will come back.
My appointment was with a new physician on staff (Dr. Veronica). She answered all my questions and I appreciated her professionalism and kindness. A smooth appointment!
Too long of a wait for scheduled appt. Bathroom very dirty and facility very cheap in everything from doors, furniture, folding chairs, exam rooms layout, etc...
Really bad reception service. I am not going back!
I as pleasantly surprised. The office staff was very pleasant and Dr. Gutierrez was awesome.
This is a great clinic. They are offering temporal medi-cal, so u can save your time on that. I had my appointment with Dr. Joanne, she is truly a great professional. She doesn't rush to leave, answer all questions, and provide with all necessary blood test, UV and so on right away. Thank you!
My appointment was at 9:15am. I didn't see the doctor until 10:30 or later. It also wasn't very clean. The staff was nice though. But I definitely won't be back.
She informed me things that I shoulf know and overall she was great!
The whole staff was nice. I was satisfied with everything besides the waiting time.
Well worth the wait! Felt completely comfortable. Also loved the fact she was very knowledgeable with holistic approaches. Def a great find on here!
I would never ever come here again. The office and lobby was horrible, the staff didn't know what they were doing. Keeps giving me the wrong forms to fill out even after I went up and asked for the correct ones oh and after waiting FOREVER in the lobby I didn't even get seen. I needed a referral, but isn't this something you should have notice when I first checked in over an hour and a half ago. HATE This place and I no longer trust this app
Great doctor. Great bedside manner.
Pienso que es una exelente doctora la recomendaria sin pensarlo ,para ser la primer vez que la visite me parecio muy buena.
Unfortunately my doctor had other deliveries which caused my wait to be over an hour and left me to miss my next meetings :( I do understand, but they should have informed me sooner as I was waiting w/ no info. in the room for over 1/2 hour after the doc. assistant took my blood pressure, etc.
It was very good ! she explained everything to me and answered all my questions. Overall I really liked her, she made me feel very comfortable which is important to me.
Office doesn't seem organized. Billing has been an issue past 2 times. Not enough seats in waiting room. If I got up to speak to receptionist someone else took my seat. Waited an hour for an annual exam while more handful of complicated appointments would go in before me. NP Joanna was very friendly and made you feel comfortable even in an awkward situation. Wouldn't recommend just because of office though.
I like this office doctor was nice and anawer all my queations. The only problem was the waiting time more then 1hr 1/2 waiting time. I had to return to my job after my visit.
horrible experiance. i was on time, sat in the office for over 30 mins. it was super cold and the staff was too busy with lunch schedule to acknowlege patients.. i will not step foot back in that office ever again..
She was very professional , answered my questions , and performed the exam well.
My appointment was really good; the doctor was great, I love how shes gets the exam done quick the only thing I didn't really like was that I had to wait like 1 hour to be called, other than that everything was fine.
She was very nice and on point with every thing
Dr. Gutierrez-Mendoza was awesome. I went there for an annual pap smear. Once I was in the exam room she came in within 5 minutes, she was super friendly and made me feel at ease. The exam was the quickest I have ever had and the least uncomfortable, I was in and out within a half hour! Will definitely go back.
There was a short wait, but everyone I interacted with in the office (medical pros and staff alike) were friendly and helpful.
I filled out my paperwork online so I could go in on time, but my Dr. was an hour late. What's the point of having an online check in system if the doctor comes in that late?
I was shocked that with an appointment I would be seen over an hour after my appointment time. It was during my lunch break and it took me nearly 3 hours to go for a simple check up. It took another 4 days to get results back from a test. Mind you I was told when I called for 3 days that they would call me back later that day with an answer. They will charge you 25 dollars for a copy of your medical records. No one in the office seems to know much about anything. I am not one to normally post about my experiences anywhere but I am shocked that this is a place that provides medical treatment.
Wait time was horrible, waited for over 2 hours.
I would never go back to this place. First of all, they could not print my paperwork, so I had to do it again. I waited a very long time to be put in one of the rooms and I also waited a long time for the doctor to come in the room. I never received my results. I had to call the office and they told me that I had to wait longer. I never bothered calling again and they never called either with the results. I was there for more than an hour for a ten minute visit. The place was also very dirty.
If you care about scheduling and organization dont ever go here. My husband is in the navy and his schedule isnt flexible at ALL, and now at 22 weeks pregnant i am switching doctors because my ultrasound has been rescheduled twice so my husband could be there and still he wont be able to. Good luck with this place ladies. What i will say is that the nurses are very nice and helpful understanding people.
She is wonderful the best yet
The staff working there was very disorganized and I had an appointment at noon. I didn't even get into a room until around 1 and then waited an additional 30 minutes to be seen. It seems like the doctor was very annoyed by her staff and that they were clueless on what they were doing. They were very nice but not very professional. After my appointment, I received an incorrect billing statement in the mail of way more than it should of been and had to get that corrected. Also, I left two voice mails to get my lab results back and never heard back. (It's been a month) I was also suppose to get a prescription to renew my birth control but have yet to receive that, too. I would not recommend their office in National City to anyone.
She's so sweet
Overall this was a wonderful experience. I felt totally comfortable and confident that Michelle was REALLY listening to me.
The whole experience was as nice as going to the gyno can be! There was a long wait but I myself was 15 minutes late and as always at a new doctor's office there is lots of paper work to fill out, so all of that takes time. Dr. Mendoza was very nice and apologized for the wait and listened to all my concerns and never rushed me. She will definitely be my gyno in San Diego and I would recommend her to anyone
My Apt was scheduled for a time they weren't open so I had to wait an hr. The Doctors office called me 15 minutes before I arrived, didn't bother calling the day or two before to let me know. They did not accept credit cards only cash so I had to find an ATM around the corner and the doctor I saw was very unprofessional and extremely judgmental. Never going back here!
She was very professional and knowledgeable. She knew what she was talking about and completely fulfilled my expectations for the visit. I'm def going back.
MD Michelle made me feel extremely comfortable during my visit and was very informative.
Overall my visit was pretty good. It seems that the office was short staff; however, the wait was not terrible and the staff was really nice.
I waited for an hour and 15 minutes for my appointment. Multiple women who arrived after me were seen before me. I felt very frustrated. The waiting room was overcrowded - there were women standing because there were not enough seats. There were children everywhere (to be expected at an OB-GYN?), laying on the floor and making a lot of noise (not a judgement, just a fact). Once I was shown to the room in the back, the entire visit was quite quick, but I was very frustrated by the long wait considering that I was taking time off from work for the visit. The doctor was knowledgeable but not very reassuring regarding a potential health risk.
Thorough, caring doctor who listened to my concerns. Only downside was the extreme wait time. Thought- scheduling times could be adjusted so new clients from zocdoc don't have to wait 1.5hrs.
Very nice doctor.
