Dr. Schneider grew up in Silver Spring, MD. He was in the honors program at University of Maryland and graduated with a degree in Biochemistry in 1979. He received his M.D. degree from Howard University, where he also completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency in 1988. He then completed a Fellowship in Spine Surgery from the Hospital for Joint Diseases, Orthopaedic Institute in New York City. He joined Montgomery Orthopaedics in 1989. Dr. Schneider is board certified and a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is an assistant professor at Howard University and a frequent guest lecturer at Orthopaedic spine meetings around the country. Dr. Schneider is active in research involving artificial disk replacements and minimally invasive spine surgery. He has served as an Orthopaedic consultant to the District of Columbia, Montgomery County Health Department, and the Veteran’s Administration. He has also served as a team physician for professional tennis, professional volleyball, Golden Gloves boxing and high school football. He is frequently cited as a Top Doctor and Surgeon in Washingtonian Magazine and Consumer Checkbook Magazine. Dr. Schneider is the Director of the Spine Center at Holy Cross Hospital and former Chief of Staff of the hospital. He is married and has two children.
