Rimma Pozdnyakova, MD has dedicated her career to improving healthcare for disadvantaged populations through patient care, teaching and advocacy. Dr. Pozdnyakova has been practicing general pediatrics in New York City since 1995. Her areas of expertise include treatment of childhood asthma, counseling high risk adolescent patients, and obesity management. Currently, she is actively participating in New York City Department of Health’s initiative to improve dental health in the pediatric population. Dr. Pozdnyakova was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. She graduated from Leningrad Pediatric Medical Institute in 1984. In 1995 she completed her residency at Downstate and Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Pozdnyakova worked as a pediatric attending physician at Staten Island University Hospital until 2001. She opened her private practice in 2001. Dr. Pozdnyakova received numerous awards during her career. She was named America’s Top Pediatrician by the Consumer’s Research Council of America from 2004 to 2010. She received Community Provider of the Year award from Kings County Hospital in 2010. In addition, she received a certificate of achievement for outstanding efforts in achieving high pediatric immunization coverage from the City of New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in 2011.

Wait time was too long. We had a newborn for her first visit and we waited for over an hour. Once we we called to see the doctor, the doctor was very friendly and very informative.

They are very lazy and slow. I do not recommend this pediatrics because for simple things like filling out a form they would have you waiting hours then just tell you come another day. They are very unorganized and the people at the desk are rude not cooperative.
Love her and her staff. Many of my family members go to dr.rimma for their children. Even when my kids get shots she comforts them in a loving way as if they're her own children. She knows the patients and parents. It's not difficult to get an appointment. The wait is usually minimal and the care is so personable. I've referred many parents to her because I really love the way she cares for my 2 yr old and 11 yr old.

Dr. Pozdnyakova remains my family pediatrician for over 18 years. Even after moving out of state (for 5 years), she still remembers us. She is knowledgeable, personable with great bedside manners. I highly recommend Dr. Pozdnyakova and her staff!

Today was best visit among all visits we had. Unlike past visits, staffs were extremely friendly, polite and professional. Doctor also was different (positive) today and took enough time to explain.

This was our first visit with this doctor and she was really nice and also very informative. She took the time to explain everything she was doing and why. She also answered all of my questions and I had many. Overall I was happy with this visit.

Thanks for waiting for us as we were 13 minutes late (while I wanted to outsmart traffic and it backfired). The visit was quick and no waiting. Overall very satisfied. However, it's a shame they don't accept credit cards! Cash is the last thing I love to carry in my wallet.

My oldest daughter and now my newborn see doctor Rimma for 2-4 years now. And everytime we come to visit her, we get the best care and advice. I would refer any parent to visit and continue to follow-up wit Dr. Rimma. She know what’s she’s doing and adds a whole lot of love as well.
