About Dr. Risa Ravitz
Dr. Ravitz is a board certified Neurologist and Pain Management specialist with fellowship training in Headache Medicine. She is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of all neurologic conditions involving both the central and peripheral nervous system. Dr. Ravitz also has additional interest and training in the treatment of Headaches. She uses a holistic approach to treatment that includes pharmacotherapy, Botox, trigger point injections, physical therapy, and diet and lifestyle changes help patients return to active lives without pain. Dr. Ravitz is a board certified Diplomate of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Pain Medicine. She is a member of the American Headache Society and serves on the Board of Directors for the New York County Medical Society. She is dedicated to her continuing medical education and attends conferences around the country in her field. She was recently named as a Super Doctor and one of New York’s Rising Stars in the New York Times Magazine, an award recognizing young physicians. I really liked Dr. Ravitz's approach and style very much and would recommend her and return. However, I had 2 MRIs as a result of the visit and never received any information about the results, even after calling the office several times. I have to assume they looked good of course, but a confirmation would have been appreciated.

She listens, ask questions, make basic tests, and give you options. It was a straight appointment for a not complex issue.
She is honestly amazing. I always feel comfortable telling her my pains and feels like she always listens. Always available for questions and any concerns out of the office which is so comforting. Just save yourself the trip of looking for doctors and head to her office.

Dr Ravitz took me in for a new patient appointment before another person in the office that was waiting before me. She was brief and to the point - and she seemed in a rush. She wasn’t listening well. And I have taken a lot of meds - I currently take Triptan meds for acute migraine and I can’t take Aleve anymore due to digestive issues - her only solution for acute pain was steroids. I know there are many other options like injections but she didn’t offer it even though her website says she does it. We didn’t get to discuss my back pain or TMJ issues in depth which triggers my migraine pain. I wouldn’t recommend her. It was a waste of time and insurance money.

Dr. Ravitz is wonderful. She took a tremendous amount of time listening to my concerns and saw that I was extremely anxious and ordered imaging right away. I felt cared for immediately and not just “a number”. I would highly recommend her. Front desk staff is great and I was seen right at the time of my appointment. Dr. Ravitz is setting the bar really high for other medical professionals.

Dr. Ravetz is a treasure. It is difficult to locate Doctors nowadays that communicate with both patient and the medical team. Meanwhile the patient remains in the center on healthcare and treatment. Highly recommend. The staff is courteous, pain management tracksdown pain issues and PT locates pain and stiffness only to assist you in manipulating your weaknesses head on. Overall, Risa was very good. She listened and questioned until she got to the root of my problem. She also took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. The only awkward part was after our meeting, I was taken to a separate room for some testing by a different doctor and, once complete, they gave me no instruction on where to go. I ended up wandering the office a bit looking for an exit.

Dr. Ravitz is the best neurologist I’ve been to in NYC. I’ve been suffering with chronic migraines for a while now and she has been extremely helpful.
