This is my second visit to his West 79 street office. A nice quiet office and a nice reception. Dr Wong is caring and spent sufficient time with patients. A very personal doctor.

A few issues: - After I checked in, two patients with later appointments checked in. After waiting 30 minutes, the doctor (not the person at the front desk) asked to see the two patients who had appointments after me. This wasconfirmed by the person at the front desk (who happened to be his son). He admitted they were before me and said the doctor would see me next and apologized. - After mentioning I would find another doctor, Dr. Wong made no attempt to apologize or explain why there was such a delay. Patient satisfaction seemed unimportant to him. - I stayed because I needed a script before leaving for vacation and he took me in the back room and didn’t look at the forms I filled out that included my current prescription medication or health issues. He sat me down in front of a computerized piece of equipment without explaining what he was doing or why. - He didn’t seem confident with the script he gave me. I have an appointment scheduled for a second opinion with a different doctor on the UWS.

Couldn't recommend him more highly. He is prompt, attentive and wants what is best for his patients (especially afters seeing another optalmologist who tried to convince me I needed glasses - and I definitely do not).

I was taken into the Drs room almost immediately. Before i reached the chair he had finished asking me my 'history'. He did not ask me about my medical history, being a medical professional i know it is important as ihave high blood pressure and high blood pressure affects vision. He quickly checked my eyes with the computerized screening and said i have a 1.25 number and i MUST GET GLASSES. He rushed me into the next room put the 1.25 lense and asked me to read a single line. On telling him i cannot read it with the lense but do better without(even though blurry without) , he cancelled his diagnosis disregarded my blurry vision and sent me home with dry eyes drops! He did not check each eye seperately, he did not check eye pressure nor did he put drops to dialate my eyes. I was in and out in 10 min (including wait time) A week later I still see blurry !

Definitely the most unique eye place I've ever been. Dr. Wong loves what he does & makes his work all his own. He is sweet & informative. They even have a dog, an open-format office, & an artist who helps assist you in choosing the right frames for your face.

Amazing doctor and office. Beyond having state of the art equipment and a phenomenal bedside manner, the entire office and shop is run by professionals. They take their time to carefully answer your questions and give you all the support youneed. It’s clear that they are invested in the best care for everyone who walks in the door. Highly recommend.

Please be careful that you check your insurance information to ascertain that Dr. Wong is in network, and that you keep track of records following the appointment to ensure correct filing of data. Dr. Wong is in my network but filedmy appointment under an old tax id. Having chosen to see Dr.Wong as my in-network provider, and having already met my in-network deductible, I was confused when I received an invoice stating that I owed an out-of-network deductible. There were several phone calls and messages exchanged during which Dr. Wong, unwilling to discuss the confusion, rather insisted that the mistake was on my end and persisted in explaining deductibles to me as if it were my lack of understanding deductibles that caused the problem. With the help of an insurance representative we discovered that Dr. Wong had inaccurately documented his ID during file submission. I left a voicemail describing the details of the mistake and never heard back. In regards to bedside manner, I was displeased with one phone call in particular, which involved Dr. Wong hanging up abruptly after stating that 1. "this [confusion with insurance] is the reason why he has fallen out of love with medicine" and 2. "this situation is black and white, crystal clear on my end. You owe a deductible."

Dr. Wong is amazing. I was a brand new patient, and I arrived feeling very anxious due to bouts of temporary blindness in one eye. Just before my appointment, I realized that there may be an issue with my insurance, butI went to the appointment anyway and Dr. Wong was so kind and agreed to see me even though there were some questions about my insurance. Dr. Wong's bedside manner is top notch – he explained everything he was doing during the examination and the reasons why. He was incredibly patient with my questions, I never felt rushed, and I left feeling confident that I was in good hands. I would recommend Dr. Wong to anyone looking for an excellent ophthalmologist.

My routine eye exam was supposed to be covered by my insurance. When it wasn't, I called my insurance provider to understand why it wasn't. I was told that Dr. Wong billed it as something other that routine. When I calledDr. Wong, he stated to me that he intentionally billed it as other than routine so HE COULD GET PAID MORE and he REFUSED to change the bill coding. I couldn't believe my ears. I was appalled he fraudulently billed my office visit so he'd get paid more and I'd pay out of pocket. I would NEVER recommend him.

I felt like I was double scheduled. My eyes had to dilate so that took some time, but I sat in a back room and waited while Dr. Wong saw two other patients. I didn't feel like he was focused onme or gave me a lot of time to ask questions.

My Experience with Doctor Wong as my Primary Eye Doctor has been so awful that I am currently switching providers after 1 visit! I saw Doctor Wong in early June 2015. After wating over an hour, I was seen by Dr.Wong for 15mins then shufffled away to another room where I proceed to wait another 45mins to continue my appointment. I repeatedly had to ask the doctor to perform a full exam that included dialating my eyes as i havent been to a eye doctor in 2 years and wanted to have a comprehensive examination. A month after my visit I relaized i had misplaced my contact lens script. So i called the office and was informed that they had also missplaced my script and as Docotr Wong was on an extend vacation (over 3 weeks till he returned) I would have to call back later. After telling them that this was not acceptable they had the on site PCP write me a new script and faxed it to me. Unfortunatlely the new script didnt have my astigmatism information on it (at least that i could read) so I had to wait for Dr. wong's return. Upon calling the office today (9/16/2015) one of the secretaries told me and said that they would have Dr.Wong rewrite my script. 5 mins later i get a call back form Dr. wong telling that if I want my script I need to come in because they are surgeons not secretaries, and that i will need to be reseen. Well excuse me to that I quickly replied that I will need a new doctor. Sending a fax of script is more than common place in 2015 it is expected and it was extremely rude of Dr.Wong to refuse to provide my prescription that I pay for (contact lens fittings are far from free!) Luckily he also lost the paperwork to file a claim with my insurance so my vision plan will allow me to see a new doctor to once again have a new exam and get a new fitting done (Karma is a you know what). Doctor Wong's office also grossly overcharged my copay. But at least I dont have to pay out of pocket to fix this.
