Verified Patient Reviews
The worst part was that she was 45 min late. Then she was kind of abrupt. She got a good review from another woman in the office however.
Amazing doctor, she was so nice & easy to talk to. Will keep seeing her.
I would not recommend her/this office to anyone. They are unorganized and not clean. I was also given inaccurate information. Do yourself a favor and find someone else.
My appointment with Dr. Shah personally was comfortable and I was able to talk to her. She is very knowledgable and made the appointment feel calm, and she is a motherly woman. The staff is nice, and they called me right away when I forgot my glasses. The only con that I had was that I was surprised that I was charged a co-pay even though according to my insurance the appointment is to be fully covered without the need of one. Overall, I would be back since she is a great ob/gyn.
She is not well informed nor very helpful. I did not feel as though she was hearing my concerns nor doing much to find solutions. I still do not have a prescription nor information I requested, days after my appointment.
She is good and courteous to patients
Dr. Shah was efficient with her time and provided a clear explanation to my questions. She was kind and courteous and worked with me to determine the best medical plan for my needs.
Dr. Shah was nice and her staff was friendly. The appointment was in time and I didn't have to wait. However, when I asked about birth control options, she gave me a quick overview, but is very against an iud for anyone under 35 or who has not had "at least 2 or 3 kids". She recommended that condoms seemed like a fine birth control method for me, even though I requested to discuss other options. She gave me a chart overview to look at when I went home. If you are interested in getting on the pill for birth control or are over 35, I'm sure she is a good fit. If not, I would look elsewhere.
I never write bad reviews, but I must give one to Dr. Shah and her staff. I only saw her once for a pap smear before learning that I was pregnant. When I called her to tell her the news, she asked me to come in for a blood test (no congratulations like every other doctor I've called since). I came in for the blood test and had to wait an hour to be seen. I had to run in and out of the office several times to feed the meter. At one point I was in the waiting room and Dr. Shah left the office and kind of avoided my eyes as if to pretend she did not see me waiting there. After the blood test, the nurse called and asked me to come in two weeks later. She instructed me to get more blood drawn the day before the appointment and then see the doctor the next day. She insisted that they would drop off the paper work to the blood center so that all I would have to do is go in and get the blood drawn. So, I went out of my way on a busy work day to get blood work done and... there was no paper work from Dr. Shah's office. Her office was also closed that day, so I couldn't ask someone to send it. So I went out of my way for nothing. I canceled my future appointments with her and have found another OB/GYN to handle my pregnancy. Everyone in Dr. Shah's office seems nice enough, but they are not warm and friendly (as one would like when she first discovers she is pregnant), they will leave you waiting, and the office is NEVER open. I have spoken to the woman at the answering service more times than I've spoken with anyone at Dr. Shah's office. I feel terrible leaving a bad review (this is my first one). I usually give everyone the benefit of the doubt. However, this is my first pregnancy, and I had a minor health scare before getting pregnant (which Dr. Shah knew about), and I wanted a doctor who made me feel like a priority even if I'm not (I know they are busy. Both my dad and brother are doctors). If you just want a pap smear and to be sent on your way, visit Dr. Shah. If you want a doctor you can talk to and help you through the biggest event of your life, look elsewhere.
Was able to make a last minute appointment online for 4:00, got a call at 3:15 that 4:00 wasn't available but that I could have a 3:30 appt, so I rushed over and then wasn't seen until 4:20. But overall I was pleased they were able to see me on such short notice.
We didn't come to a conclusion about my problem and I found the doctor difficult to talk to. It didn't seem like she was willing to spend the time with me.
Sandhya was great. The office staff was very friendly and the environment was comfortable. My visit was quick, I was in and out but had time to ask any questions I had with her and the nurse.
Very informative. Great listener. Only wish she would smile a bit more :)
She was very sweet and made me feel very comfortable!
Dr. Shah did not ask appropriate questions, performed a very un-thorough exam (did not even perform a breast exam on a person with a history of atypical lumps), and then dismissed me when asking about an IUD, the reason for my visit. Additionally, she provided me with information that was not up to date in order to sway my decision to not get something she clearly doesn't believe in. The nurse was also extremely judgmental. Overall, it felt like a step backward in time for women's health issues/rights. I would never go back to this doctor.
Wonderful demeanor. Felt motherly and well taken care of
She is proficient and clear. Excellent and clearly one of the best.
She ran numerous tests that I did not request. It took me weeks to get everything straight with my insurance company, as they filed repeated claims and her office would never return calls to me or my insurance company. As a physician she is very short and brief with her answers and if it is annoying her for you to try to understand. I have switched and highly recommend the women's center in Newton. They are caring, spend time with me and answer all of my questions. It's a big difference, much cleaner and nicer environment!
Knowledgeable but a bit rude and rushed.
I am satisfied, she listen every problem and I feel she is very experienced.
I felt very at easy and very confident in the doctors skills. She was very friendly and was able to explain everything to me. It was one of the best experinces I've had with Gynocologist
She was great. She was efficient and right to the point. I went in for my second pregnancy and the process of getting the blood work and ultra sound was very efficient. I liked the nurse and receptionist.
It was simple, fast, and very professional.
It was okay. The doctor was fine, and the overall pap smear process was not as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. The staff was also nice. However, I felt like a lot of things weren't properly explained, and after I left, despite being reassured multiple times that my insurance did cover the visit and the blood work, I was billed for both repeatedly. When I called to try to ask why I was being billed, I received no response. It was frustrating.
My visit with Dr. Shah was great! I was able to book my appointment right away through ZocDoc with no trouble. I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted by a very friendly staff member at the front desk. I didn't have to wait long before the nurse took me into the exam room. She was very sweet and explained how the appointment would go to see if I had any questions or concerns. Dr. Shah was very personable and professional while she listened to everything I had to say. She gave me the medical attention I needed and ensured that she would be available for any questions or concerns I may have after my appointment. Dr. Shah made me feel very comfortable and well cared for during my visit. I would definitely recommend her for any and all of your lady needs!
Doctor Shah was really good at explaining things and showing step by step. Put ALOT of my tensions at ease.
There was a med student "shadowing" Dr. Shah. The fact that she would be present, and I would be used as a teaching tool was not mentioned to me in advance nor was I asked if I was okay with it. I felt that Dr. Shah was in a rush and did not have the time for me to be asking all of the questions I had. Going to the gynecologist is a sensitive experience, and I did not feel that she recognized this.
Dr. Shah was an excellent and made me feel completely comfortable
Great! Listened and explained everything thoroughly, gave lots of advice.
Very professional, but a little late
It took nearly two months before I got back my results, I was unsatisfied by the speed that information was relayed.
Great doctor, very knowledgeable and helpful. I went in for a birth control refill and she ended up also helping me out with an ankle injury from this weekend! Not many other doctors would have done this.
Nice cotton gown and sheet (not plastic).
Quick fast and painless visit. I've already recommended her to all my friends. I picked her as a new doctor when I moved to the city and I couldn't be happier.
She delivered my two children 20 years ago, and now she's providing care to my 20 year old daughter. I trust her, I love her, she is casual and yet extremely professional. I would put my life in her hands.
The visit went well..She was very patient and allow me to feel comfortable. The staff was great and the atmosphere was awesome.
