In the mid-1980's, after several years in academic medicine as a maternal-fetal medicine specialist, I left research, teaching and administrative work behind to enter private practice as a generalist in obstetrics and gynecology. I decided what I liked most and what I did best was direct patient care. My many years in private practice since then have been extremely gratifying with many memorable moments and many enduring relationships.
Two years ago, I made the more difficult decision to stop practicing obstetrics. Although I no longer do deliveries, I still see patients for preconception care, basic fertility assessment, and early obstetric ultrasound. Recent advances in women's health have provided gynecologists with a better understanding of preventive care, new medicines, new techniques ,and many new treatment options. As I continue in the practice of general gynecology, I am pleased that now, more than ever, it is possible to individualize care and to meet the specific needs and concerns of each patient.

The doctor and her entire staff were so warm, personable and efficient. Going to the gyno always makes me feel anxious and I end up putting it off. This appt. felt so easy, so taken care of, I walked out lighter than I walked in. Thanks!
Lovely Doctor made the experience quick and painless! Short wait time and super friendly staff. Would definitely go back!
She was very warm and thorough. I really liked Sandra.
She's very knowledgeable and was able to answer my questions.
Dr. Levine saw me immediately. She was attentive, professional, straightforward, and took the time to explain everything. I was in and out in 20 min without feeling rushed. Wonderful staff too!
Dr. Levine was really great - she was comforting and witty. She had great bedside manner and you could tell she really cared about how I felt and about my well being!
Dr. Levine always provides a thorough exam. She take time to ask about any changes and asks if there are questions. She explains what she is doing (or not doing) and why. I always leave feeling confident in the care provided.
I never heard from Dr. Levine or the office about my test results. After logging into the patient portal, I noticed I had two issues and needed prescriptions for both. I called a couple times about the prescriptions and finally received the medication nearly three weeks later, which is a long time when you have an issue. I don't think this is Dr. Levine's fault, but I do think the office could be better with letting patients know about test results and whether treatment is needed.
Dr. Levine is a wonderful doctor and has incredible bedside manner, she listened to every concern I had. Won't be going anywhere else but here from now on..
Although everything was fine at the appointment, I wasn't wow-ed by Dr. Levine's passion to help her patients... she seemed somewhat disinterested in hearing some issues I'd been experiencing for over a year, and even somewhat dismissive when I tried to explain the issues and possible reasons for them (ex. hormone imbalance, birth control change, etc.). She said that "I don't have a lot of other options", rather than offering alternatives, suggestions, or further research on her end. Just wasn't the kind of encouragement/help I needed. Everything else at the appointment went as normal as normal can be.
Dr. Levine took the time to listen to my concerns and I was surprised by how she was not at all rushed with me. She is very direct, no nonsense. She certainly knows what she's doing in terms of examinations and is very calm and confident.
Dr. Levine was very nice, calm and offered great advice.
The staff was welcoming and very friendly and efficient. The doctor was thorough and listened to my concerns. She was wonderful, I was quite nervous when I came in because of my problem and she made me feel so much better. Thank you for helping me find her.
She was detailed and very professional.
The receptionist was really nice! However, when I saw Dr Levine I wasn't to happy. She was a little cold and did not seem to comforting. Seeing an OB is never always comforting seeming as how they're going down there, however, they should try to be nice and make you feel comfortable as best as they can. She did not and was rude and made a comment about my weight that was not appreciated. I would see her if there were no other OBGYN's to see but I would see another doctor before seeing her.
She has great bedside manner, I find going to the ob/gyn super uncomfortable but she makes me feel comfortable.
This office has a lot of paperwork, especially anti-legal paperwork, that you have to sign before you are seen... these things always make sense after the fact. In my instance, though I was told my visit was 100% covered by my insurance, I was NOT told that one of the two lab tests they would run was not necessarily covered, as it was not part of what they considered a regular woman's checkup. Then the antibiotic they prescribed after the results came in was completely unaffordable. They did not consider my insurance or personal cost at all. I had to go back to the pharmacy the next day with a generic antibiotic prescribed instead so that I was paying my copay instead of over ten times it. THEN my SURPRISE bill came for the second piece of lab work, and the office is claiming that they're not responsible to alert patients about these kinds of things. (I have NEVER had a doctor's office do something like this to me before.) The doctor's office told me this is my own fault and I should deal with both the lab and my insurance. This completely sucks. Find another doctor's office that will actually take care of you and not tell you you're just one of 1,000+ poor souls who didn't pay enough attention to every dotted line or ask enough questions about if something would be covered.
They ordered a test that I didn't ask for that wasn't covered by my insurance, and didn't notify me of the results. I called after 2.5 weeks to check in, only to be told that if results are normal you won't be notified. Pretty sure that isn't standard. Dr. Levine did not seem to listen to my concerns (leading to the irrelevant test), and made some vaguely hostile remarks about techies changing the city (I'm an engineer). On the whole, deeply unsatisfied and won't be back.
Great! She gave sound advice and was a good listener.
Sandra is professional and to the point, but knowledgeable, polite and thorough. I left her office feeling like I had an ally in the murky world of medicine and paperwork!
Not sure where all these glowing reviews are coming from. Dr. Levine was curt - bordering on rude - and proceeded to literally throw her clipboard on the table when I couldn't remember the name of the pill I normally get from Planned Parenthood. She retorted that there are "hundreds of pills, do you want me to just pick one out of a hat?!" Well, I've explained that I use my pills on an extended cycle, so why don't you just recommend a few to me so we can move on. After an extremely uncomfortable verbal exchange, I then had to let her give me a pelvic exam, which is already an uncomfortable experience to begin with. Terrible bedside manner, seemed like she didn't want to be there, just a bad experience all together. Kinda shocked at all the great reviews. To top things off, they hadn't even called in the prescription at the pharmacy. Will probably just make an appointment at planned Parenthood vs calling their office to have the Rx sent. Would rather deal with the protesters out front of PP than go here again.
I thought she was fantastic! Clearly a very intelligent woman with a direct approach and a gentle, "no nonsense" attitude. There's no fluff with her, but it's obvious she's there to offer you top level care.
Great Dr. I felt really comfortable, and really appreciate that she has been practicing for a long time, and is very knowledgeable. She was incredibly helpful answering my questions and took her time going through my charts and asking follow up questions to my new patient questionnaire. I was very impressed and would definitely recommend her.
Dr. Levine was very professional and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend her!
she is a very kind doctor, giving much of her time to listen to each and every concern. Very efficient office, nurses, and doctor. I have seen five other OBGYN doctors prior to her, but Dr. Levine is a keeper. It is just too bad she does not deliver babies, as I would definitely trust her with such for my future.
She's not the warmest doctor but she certainly knows what she's talking about, she's efficient and to the point. Would reccomend her.
Very nice and attentive!
The doctor was great. I don't know what the reviews are about below saying she is stoic, etc. I thought she was very helpful and answered all my questions.
The office staff was so prompt and friendly! Dr. Levine made me feel very comfortable, excellent bedside manner. She was very knowledgeable and helpful during my visit.
Very nice and and unbiased. Wasn't judgmental or rude like a lot of OBGYN's can be. Answered my questions regarding my IUD and guided my decision for what is best for me.
Dr. Levine was great. The office is super efficient, and the staff very friendly. She was really helpful and super clear about everything which I really appreciated. She was much more thorough and detail-oriented than other doctors I've had in the past.
Great visit - Dr. Levine made me feel very comfortable even it was my first time there... she was very welcoming, professional, and friendly - i will be back next year for sure!
it was great. got in on time & got a professional diagnosis. staff is also friendly & helpful.
She answered all of my questions, but she didn't seem very happy to be seeing me :( She wasn't mean, but she didn't go above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I may or may not see her again.
Thought she was great!
Dr. Koh was great! She was patient, friendly and professional.
I really liked Dr. Levine but we had a bunch of blood tests done and it's been 3 weeks and I still haven't heard a word from the office! I find that really upsetting - because if i wasn't calling them now to ask them about the results, they probably wouldn't have ever given them to me but I was sured billed for them! Very poor experience with regards to test results
She was courteous and professional, which put me at ease.
I liked Dr Levine very much as she was calming and kind. I was quite anxious when I went to see her, she didn't make a big deal about anything, but did let me know I might have some troubles to deal with, I was glad to have her as my doctor.
She was great! Answered my questions and was thorough but efficient. She made what is always an uncomfortable thing go by quickly and with minimal pain
She was great! Answered all the questions, has an excellent bedside manner. Thank you Dr. Levine:)!
She is more articulate and informative than any gynecologist I've seen in ten years. Her pelvic examinations are conducted in a thoughtful manner, rendering them as painless and comfortable as any exam of that type can possibly be. I highly recommend Dr. Levine.
Dr. Sandra is very knowledgeable, patient and professional. She listens and explains. I would highly recommend her.
I have been seeing Sandra Levine for 5 years now and she is great. Very professional, knowledgeable and attentive.
I found Dr. Levine a little too reserved. She didn't offer up very extensive answers to my questions, though she was very respectful. I prefer a doctor who is brimming with helpful information because I trust that conversation so much more than information I can find elsewhere. Even when I pressed her to talk about benefits of different birth control, she didn't have much to say beyond the answers to my specific questions. She did a good job with my exam and was quick and comfortable. I do think she has a secret humor behind her stone expression and caught a little smirk at one or two moments. I also love a good jewish doctor.
When I actually used to see Dr. Levine I had a good experience. I liked her approach and straightforward manner. The last time I was in, however, I was not seen by Dr. Levine but by a physician's assistant who I thought was only OK. I more recently called in with an issue with my birth control which the office immediately dismissed, though they changed my prescription anyway -- but I didn't at all have the info to make me feel comfortable with how it was handled. I will be changing Doctors.
Im fairly new to the city and was a bit nervous prior to the appointment. Dr. Levine was great about making me feel at ease. I knew right away I was in good hands. She took her time and inquired about my medical history prior to my exam. Asked several questions and wrote notes for herself. I absolutely recommend Dr. Levine.
She was very professional and straightforward. Highly recommend!
Dr. Sandra Levine was very attentive, thoughtful and kind. She is a real professional and thinks first about her patient, not profit. Thank you, Doctor!
Very efficient, professional.
Dr. Levine was so friendly and easy to talk to. The office is willing to work with you if you have no insurance as well. I highly recommend going to her. The staff was also so nice and very attentive to me. What a great experience.
Dr Levine is really efficient and goes straight to the point which is the most important thing. You feel comfortable for that uneasy kind of consultation. Dr Levine is gentle and knows to relax you.
Sandra Levine was very open to answering any questions I had. I really liked that she was not pushing me to take hormonal birth control pills like some of the other doctors I've seen.
Very kind and listened when I discussed my health concerns.
Dr. Lavine is a great doctor
She was very dry and curt. Her bedside manner was terrible, she almost seemed as if she was annoyed to be there. She didn't really listen to my concerns and didn't give me any straight answers.
