Verified Patient Reviews
Excellent Doctor, Excellent service,, highly intelligent and made me feel at ease. Would highly recommend Dr. Hammerman to anyone looking for a dermatologist that they can trust.
Very professional. Very thorough. There is no wait time. Highly recommend.
The doctor is amazing, the office is a mess, getting a prescription to the tight pharmacy seems to eb rocket science for them.
Extremely professional and efficient along with a great team.
Very friendly doctor and staff, would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great dermatologist!
Well done, right to the point!
He's very pleasant and patient. He listens and gives great advice.
He's very nice, patient, listens, all good.
He seems like a nice enough guy but I didn't get a follow-up call on the mole he removed. He also didn't follow-up on previous lab result he offered to review and he did not. He seemed rather embarrassed and rushed when he saw me. I've had good experiences here before but this one does not count as one of the good ones.
He treated me 100% with my first problem several months ago. I hope he treats this one 100% as well. He definitely seems extremely knowledgeable. He doesn't promise me unrealistic results, which is something I respect. He also doesn't market a million different products to make a quick buck. I think he truly cares about his patients and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good dermatologist.
Unfortunately I was disappointed with my experience. I had never been to a dermatologist before and was excited for my first visit! I went in for a skin cancer screening because I have never had one. They were very dismissive. The receptionist was rude, the PA only engaged with me when she realized I was from a place she was soon to be moving to, and I was under the impression another person was going to do my exam. I waited almost an hour for the Dr. to look at me for MAYBE 2 minutes. This office seems to be very COSMETIC focus. Maybe I am at fault because I wanted more of a general/medical consultation. Since I was not purchasing any cosmetic services I felt as though I was being dismissed. Note that you should not write someone off just because they are coming in for a simple screening. I was hopeful to make this my primary Dermatologist and I was in fact interested in exploring services such as laser hair removal, and establishing a skincare regiment. I know very little about the care of your skin and Dermatologists, especially with new patients who state they've never seen a Dermatologist before, should try to get to know what concerns are to possibly acquire a new patient.
I liked him very much....
Wait time was less than 15 minutes. Dr. Hammerman was fantastic. My visit was fast and efficient. All my concerns were addressed and questions were answered.
Dr. Hammerman is kind, honest, and professional. He takes your concerns seriously and provides you with a range of options that are suitable for your lifestyle and pocket book. He never tries to sell you cosmetic services that you do not need.
He and his PA were very professional and straight to the point.
Dr. Hammerman is kind and completely professional. He expressed a genuine interest in my concerns, and offered several practical solutions to address my needs. I am quite happy with my experience and will continue to see Dr. Hammerman.
All the staff members are friendly and professional. I felt heard and they took good care of me.
DR. SCOTT HAMMERMAN HE IS ALL THAT ! AND A BAG OF CHIPS. TRULY A MARVEL IN THE MEDICAL WORLD .I BELIEVE THAT ANY DERMATOLOGY PATIENT CAN BE HEALED ... SIMPLY BY TOUCHING THE HEM OF HIS GARMENT .I CONSIDER HIM TO BE MY OWN PERSONAL JESUS . NEW YORK, N.Y.
He didn't have a lot to say. Also, the room was very small and there were 3 healthcare professionals in the tiny room + me.
I have nothing but great things to say about my visit with Dr. Hammerman. It was my first time at the 19th street location (I was accustomed to visits in Mid-Town). The location is a bit of a hike for me, but Dr. Hammerman's professionalism and attention are worth the longer commute. I arrived 1 minute late for my appointment, but I only waited 12 minutes before the nurse escorted me to the exam room. Dr. Hammerman attended to my medical issue with laser focus and the gentlest of hands. His precision is well above average, which I appreciate very much. If my issue recurs, I am fortunate to know exactly who to call for an appointment. I recommend Dr. Hammerman to all who need a Dermatologist.
It was great. He was very professional and helpful.
Ill-informed and arrogant. Granted, I should have found a traditional dermatologist rather than go to an injectibles storefront, but it was an emergency. He should remember that people have feelings and try not to be so condescending.
Great! Hoping the meds work and i have clear skin!! Will see in a month!
Love the people and the doctor is extremely respectful and knows what he is doing.
He's bright and attentive, friendly and competent.
I was disappointed that only one of three issues were discussed during my visit - including not discussing biopsy results and medicine prescribed. Additionally, the doctor neglected all of the presenting problems in the one issue that was addressed.
Quick Easy Helpful. Ill Be back
He is a good doc. His front desk staff need to be nicer to patients....
Very informative and very efficient and knowledgable. I always have questions, and I got answers that were clear and direct and informative.
Office is great, quick and helpful, very straight forward and helpful.
As usual, my visit with Dr. Hammerman was top notch! I arrived early, and was escorted back to the exam room within 7 minutes. When Dr. Hammerman came in, he greeted me and asked about my birthday which occurred 2 weeks ago. We had a great conversation then Scott segued seamlessly to the business at hand. He took great care of me. I learned Dr. Hammerman will be moving his practice further downtown. While it is less convenient, I will follow him anywhere! Thanks Dr. Hammerman!
Absolutely Fantastic -- He has great bedside manners AND he knew what to do about my problem immediatley His staff is also awesome. Great experience
Dr. Hammerman was rude and not helpful at all. He definitely needs to work on his bedside manner. He came recommended to me by a coworker but I would never go back to see him or recommend him to anybody else I know.
My appointment time was 2:10 pm. I was brought back into the exam room at 2:15 pm. Dr. Hammerman came in right away and attended to me. It was a great experience! I wish all of my doctor's visits were like the one with Dr. Hammerman. He is fantastic!
quick easy and effective offered me the best I reccomend to my friends
The office is spot on; completely hygienic and comfortable. Saw Hammerman for a few minutes who is likeable and seems to run busy practice well.
Dr. Hammerman is great- I get my skin cancer screenings with him and he is really friendly and professional.
Very understanding and helpful with the reasons for my visit. Efficient with my time during the appointment, but very long time spent in the waiting room - staff was apologetic and I got the sense that my wait time was atypical for this office. Regardless, I'd rather wait a bit longer and see a capable doctor so I will be returning.
The only pleasant thing was the waiting room. I expected him to be different than most dermatologists and actually really look at my skin or even ask me about my skin. He didn't care about anything more than pushing prescription products on me that I specifically said I've tried and did not work well. If you want someone to just write you an rx for an acne medication or oral antibiotic without really even seeing if you need them then he's your guy.
The doctor himself is great but I had a terrible experience with the clinic staff who mislead me and made me come back for a second appointment for no reason. I do not plan on going back to Schweiger Dermatology ever again.
He did it short and sweet. I would love to ask more questions but, he didnt have a lot of time. It was a really brief procedure given my simple case. Maybe next meeting I can ask more questions...and options. He was very assuring and hopeful too.
I am very happy that I chose Dr Hammerman to be my doctor! In the room he treats you like a priority. He has an excellent bedside manner & made the experience fun even though there was pain involved. I will definitely be coming back. The wait time although long was tolerable due to the friendly staff. I highly recommend him.
Very warm and friendly staff. He himself was very professional as well. Only complaint was that I had to wait 35-40 mins beyond my appointment time but I cant say I was too surprised since it was 530pm. He was super apologetic about the wait though which was nice.
A skin exam will still forever make me feel uncomfortable. Doesn't matter who does it ._. Wrote me the prescription for the shampoo I needed, and gave me advice I could actually use.
As with my initial visit, my experience was outstanding! I arrived on time and was called back into the exam room within 20 minutes. Dr. Hammerman greeted me and then got right down to business. He is pleasant and very professional. I would recommend him to all of my friends and associates.
He was very pleasant and made my 7 year old very comfortable. Also the staff where very professional and helpful.
Very nice Doctor! Addressed all of my issues & I didn't feel rushed!
It was ok , he did listen to what I had to say about but he didn't really give me any feedback on the areas I was trying to heal .....
I went in for an acne issue and Dr. Hammerman was very helpful and informative. Everyone in his office was very nice as well. The wait was not too long and the clinic is really clean! He was very patient and I didn't feel rushed at all. Looking forward to my next visit !
Highly recommended. He's professional, knowledgable and very friendly!
Dr hammer man is extremely knowledgable and thorough. He quickly comes up w a diagnosis and knows what to do about it.
Dr Hammerman is adorable. Very professional interaction without being rigid. He actually listened to my issues & worked to figure out the problem &I where to go from there. His assistants were equally professional. The best Dermatologist office I've been to ever.
The Nurse Taylor called me in and was veryyyy sweet and explained to me the procedure (2 that were possible ) that the doctor would perform.. Dr Hammerman was amazing , professional and easy going.. he offered me a follow up appointment a week later which i like (rather than waiting the usual two) ... great beautiful comfortable and modern facility
Dr. Hammerman is extremely professional and his office staff has been immensely helpful. I would absolutely recommend him to others.
I had a really great visit with Dr. Hammerman. He put together a plan to figure out some skin problems and I feel confident that he will find a solution for me.
Very professional and good bedside manners. Really takes the time to talk with you and is thorough in his examinations and treatments.
He was great as always!! Highly recommended!
Dr. Hammerman was great. He made me feel very comfortable during my full skin check (which can often be an uncomfortable experience if you don't have the right doctor!). I also was able to make an appointment quickly and was seen right away when I arrived for my appointment.
My experience with Dr. Hammerman was perhaps the worst I've ever had with any doctor. Here is why: he kept me waiting for 40 minutes, and when he arrived he introduced himself with his back to me and never shook my hand. I came in with very specific questions regarding a skin disorder I have (and which is not new to me). I was looking for Dr. Hammerman's opinion(s) about which potential treatment might be a good fit for me. *I chose to see Dr. Hammerman in the first place because his bio on the website states he does particular research on the very skin condition I have. Instead of offering feedback or opinions, or even listening to me or my questions, he rattled off the various medications there are (which I knew from years of research and experience), failed to provide any personal advice or opinion about any of them, ignored my questions by speaking over me, and failed to accurately or articulately explain the ways in which the various medications actually help treat the condition. I asked specific questions related to the pricing of certain medications and treatments and he answered incorrectly - as though he were unfamiliar. HIs bedside manner was disinterested and unfriendly. If he sensed my dissatisfaction with our time together he made no effort to address it. I expressed my feelings to the receptionist, who was lovely and understanding and offered the chance to speak with another doctor before I left. I took her up on it. I will never return to see Dr. Hammerman... this is the first time I've ever left a review, but I'm more than disappointed with my visit - I'm pretty angry about it. As a result, I would not recommend the practice, and I will certainly never return.
I like his manner of interacting and his explaining. He's a very good MD, and would recommend him to my friends.
The doctor and his assistant both seemed like nice people. They looked at everything I went there for and answered questions I had. I was able to get an appointment easily and didn't wait long which are both positives. Thanks!
Great - Quick, easy and professional
I had never been to a dermatologist before and didn't know what to expect. The office space reminded me of a five star spa, and it was very comfortable. The staff was amazing kind and very helpful. Dr. Scott Hammerman MD. was very professional, confidence and knowledgeable . TM.
Doctor was very nice. Although the rashes I got never really got identified because I was pregnant and couldn't much testing, his bedside manner was friendly and seem genuinely concerned about the issue.
Great MD, very effective and polite !
Scott is efficient but does not rush his work. He is also personable and makes an effort to establish a genuine connection with his patients. Wonderful experience all around.
He is always caring and very professional!
He was very nice and made me feel more confident about my skin. He is also very cute.
Absolutely right on the money, I already recommended people to go see him.
Smart doctor with a good manner.
Dr. Hammerman is excellent in his treatment, his manner, and interest in what is going on with me, his patient. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Hammerman, was a complete professional. He made it easy talking about uncomfortable situations
He was great no pain at all and it was done so quickly!!! I didn't even feel the stitches, thank you so much Dr hammerman u r very good at what u do see u in 2 weeks
Thorough, professional, and well-mannered. Was seen promptly, and treated well.
Overall a good experience! Nice office, great staff, and no wait. The Doctor was good, but a little bit quick to move on from me. Still overall good.
It was a really nice experience. The doctor makes you feel comfortable. The assistant was nice and answered any questions I needed.
Great doctor, made me feel comfortable and treatment really worked!
Very happy with my first consultation with Dr Hammerman. He was really knowlagable and suggested a treatment plan. He also zapped a big spot on my chin :) Follow up and suggested facial with aesthetician organised easily with the friendly front desk staff. All good.
This was my second visit to this office. The staff is friendly and efficient. Dr. Hammerman is quick to answer any questions and seems very knowledgable. He requests follow up appointments to ensure proper care not to just squeeze a few more dollars out of you.
Dr. Hammerman did not have the best bedside manner. When he walked in he did not shake my hand nor look me in the eye. It was a bit uncomfortable. I will stick to Dr. Kleinerman- she is always booked for a reason!
very pleasant visit!
The Doctor was great and very respectful. He made me feel comfortable during the procedure ..N show concern..
Scott is fine, the people at the front desk are disinterested, there is an odd process where you wait in a waiting room, you get taken to a consulting room, you wait, then a nurse arrives. "so why are you hear today sir?" - terse response from me "you have my file you should know that" - that's not a good start for me. The nurse asks all the questions I would expect the doctor to ask, I wait again, the doctor arrives, we repeat the questions. more waiting then back to the disinterested people at the front desk to arrange the next appointment. Now Zocdoc / doctor Hammerman send me large numbers of emails reconfirming and reminding me of my appoointment and a text one hour before - this is all mildly irritating but it does create the expectation on my side that you have a similar sense of the urgency of my appointment on your side when I arrive - not keeping me waiting and then asking why am there - so watch out for over use of technology if you cannot back up the expectation you set by it in the real world,
He is always punctual and takes care of my issues right away. I wish all doctors were this good.
Very clean and modern facility, was seen promptly and with great service.
Very quick and explained things well. Very nice office and the doctor was very professional.
He was very professional and at the end the next day I recommended his services to five other of my friends
I was taken on time to an exam room, but had to wait there for 1/2 hour for Dr. Hammerman to appear. A rather disinterested "assistant" took my history while I was waiting -minimal questions asked. Dr. Hammerman appeared and was pleasant. No exam, a number of assumptions, again limited questions. Seemingly uninterested and not engaged with my problem. Came up with a recommendation of steriod use which I did not want. I had to request a stronger antihistamine and query about a possible allegist. Gave me his card and told me to come back in two weeks. Clearly interested in my business if not my complaints.
If you want someone who truly cares and takes their time to help you achieve the results that you are looking for, than go see Scott Hammerman MD, FAAD.
Dr. Hammerman is knowledgeable, highly competent and friendly while maintaining professionalism. I especially appreciate this, as a physician myself... doctors are notoriously the worst patients.
Always takes the time to explain options and treatment- extremely knowledgeable and up to date with the latest in dermatology.
I was there for a skin rash i presented that I needed meidation for, but Dr Hammerman spent the time checking my skin for werid moles or sun damage as well. He was thorough and seemed to take the time to help me.
Unfortunately I've seen him twice now and he hasn't made a dent in my adult acne. It's actually gotten worse. Telling me it's not bad is not that helpful....
Scott was very friendly, direct, and efficient
It was my first visit for a rash which Dr. Hammerman feels is related to bed bugs. I will see if it all works out, but he appears very professional and knowledgeable.
Efficient and complete.
He seemed knowledgeable, but he was a jerk. If you don't care about that, then I would recommend.
This is the fourth consultation and all went well.
This was my first time ever seeing a Dermatologist. I was terrified because of the rash on my face. Doc Hammerman was so nice and pleasant. He didnt rush through anything and was very understanding. His staff was all extremely friendly too! I cant imagine going anywhere else.
My biggest pet peeve was being talked down to, as if I were a child. Dr. Hammerman seemed less concerned with my history and more concerned with upselling products and treatments and rushing out the door.
The whole experience was wonderful. I was there a little early so I waited a few minutes, but a nurse checked me out and went over my medical history and Dr. Hammerman was great. I had a spot that I was worried might be cancerous but he was really kind and helpful and gave me a treatment and helped me make a follow up appointment. The offices were really nice and everyone made me feel calm and welcome. Great place.
Very friendly and talkative. Young and relatable. Very nice guy.
Great doctor, no wait. Professional staff. I would recommend.
Dr. Hammerman was efficient and cordial. I went in to get my moles checked out for the first time ever and was really nervous. Both he and his staff were very thorough and put me at ease. I will definitely go back again!
He was very patient with me and made me feel like a priority, which many doctors are challenged to do because of limited time allowed to interact with each patient. I highly recommend Dr. Hammerman.
Excellent. Professional, friendly and helpful.
Dr. Hammerman was really great. He made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire appointment. This was appreciated because I was embarrassed about the nature of my visit, but he made assured me right away.
Dr. Hammerman had great bedside manner, was knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend him.
Best run Dr.s office I have been to!!
Doctor was professional and informative. Staff and front counter were not very personable and customer friendly.
Excellent overall experience.
Dr Hammerman knows what he's doing. I had never been to a dermatologist before...his treatment/RX's have my skin looking great. He remembered specifics about past visit months earlier which is awesome. Thanks!
The advice he gave me for my facial irritation led to even further facial chemical burns which landed me a trip to the hospital in an ambulance immediately after applying his prescriptions. I'm sure he is a good doctor for clearing acne, which is the specialty of the clinic he works at but he certainly did not help treat my facial chemical burns but rather exacerbated the problem significantly.
Excellent Professional. Highly recommended.
He was very professional, we discussed diagnosis, treatment plan and a callback by Tuesday -
Excellent doctor - highly recommended.
was a great session and had a very warm welcoming manner
He's very polite and informative. He's very thorough when explaining my options. I think he's wonderful. I've already recommended him to someone else and I just scheduled an appointment for my son to be seen by him.
I understand that a doctor's days are busy, but I don't think there's any excuse for a doctor walking in and telling you the wrong information. During my appointment, Dr. Hammerman spent 5 minutes telling me the wrong information before he realized (because of a comment that I made) that he had the wrong information about my course of treatment. I'd rather not spend time and money going to a doctor if they're not going to take the couple of minutes necessary to understand my current course of treatment.
Very professional and was through with examination and explainations.
He Is Very Nice and professional.
Unbelievably rude doctor. He was borderline violent in his language and unprofessional demeanor in his workplace.
Doctor Hammerman is very kind, patient and thorough. With his help I got rid of my acne, which had bothered me for over a decade. I highly recommend him to anyone who has similar problems.
Didn't read my file history, argued with his assistant in front of me. I don't plan to return.
I think this doctor is arrogant, with a tendency to talk down to his patients. He does not seem to be a good listener, either. Over a month ago I asked him to start the paperwork to have my insurer approve a procedure. When I went back this past week, he said he'd "get right on it, but it might take a month to approve." This is why I'd asked him to start the paperwork a month ago! Just waiting for a rival dermatological clinic to open in the area. I will happily and immediately jump ship.
He was confident and sure of his diagnosis, which made me feel incredibly comfortable. He was willing to sit and answer my questions, and didn't seem to be in a rush, and wanted to make sure I got all the answers I needed. Highly recommended!
This was my first visit and I am very satisfied. Dr. Hammerman took the time to understand my issues as well as my history. Look forward to visiting him again.
I was impressed with the doctor but wait time was way too long . The doctor apologized profusely so I will give him another chance.
Very prompt and knowledgeable.
It was great! The staff was friendly and helpful.
What bothered me the most was that the nurse giggled (literally, shaking and smiling more than a bit) while I was explaining and showing some of my concerns on my face to the Dr. I said something to her and she was surprised to know that I was watching her. Who wants to go to the Dr's office that makes you feel more vulnerable than how you are feeling already?
Overall I had a great experience. The office was very modern and utilizes technology well. Dr Hammerman was friendly and diagnosed my situation quickly. The staff was kind and courteous.
The visit was very matter-of-fact. Dr. Hammerman is not the warmest person, but he certainly isn't unfriendly. Some of his staff, on the other hand, are terse and sort of make you feel like a specimen.
The doctor and his staff is very hospitable and courteous.
Good advice and the proper prescription solved my skin problem.
Very professional, thorough and patient. Will use him again in the future.
very fast and professional, very clean and efficient office.
Rather disappointing. I do not think he has much knowledge in cosmetic dermatology. His procedure on me left me with complications. Left a message with the clinic and no one called me back with regards to my concerns. Communication with Dr. Hammerman around a follow-up appointment to review the complications was also less than ideal. Not going back.
Great doctor-- to the point, didn't waste my time or his, good bedside manner.
Very knowledgeable and friendly
great - answered all my questions with a lot of patience! great bedside manner.
Absolutely awesome. Plus, he saw me on a Sunday.
The visit was great! He was right on target with diagnosis and treatent. He also called to followup. Found to also be very personable! Highly recommend him!
Very personable and spent a great deal of time explaining my issues with him. Didn't feel rushed at all. Friendly
It was the best!
very good .
Very caring, Med's already working. Great visit.
He was friendly and responsive. I was a little surprised that the practice was at the back of a store.
He is very friendly and pleasant.
Dr Hammerman was excellent. He was very thorough, asked lots of questions, explained my options, and gave me his contact details so I could call or email with follow up questions. As well as being a good doctor, he was also a very nice person and very easy to deal with. I highly recommend him.
Understanding and caring. He has a great bedside manner and he was very carful and engaging. I would recommend him to all of my friends and family.
For as long as I’ve been shaving I’ve dealt with in grown hairs. It’s a problem that impacts many African American men with curly hair. I’ve tried everything from shaving with razors, clippers and waxing to spas treatments, expensive lotions, washes and at-home remedies. In the past few months the problem has gotten worse so I decided to see a dermatologist. I found Dr. Scott Hammerman on ZocDoc, who is a practitioner at Clear Clinic. The experience was mediocre at best. I was surprised that he didn’t collect a complete history. He didn’t ask me how long I’ve dealt with the problem, if it’s constant issue or if it happens periodically. He didn’t inquire about the lotions and face washes I use or bother to ask about my shaving process and nightly routine. After an awkward initial conversation, he left the room for a long period of time (I’m assuming to Google about ingrown hair issues facing African American men). Whiles waiting, I couldn’t help but notice the lack of images of African American men and women on the television monitor, which had a reel of before and after images of patients who’ve successfully complete treatments for acne, scars, and hair implants. This immediately set-off a red flag that this clinic might not treat people of color, particularly African Americans. The doctor came back to the room with a note pad of information that I already knew and an overpriced prescription for a retinoid, which I told him I used in the past and that it burned my skin. He also prescribed a few other medications which he didn’t adequately explain “why” I needed them and “how” they would treat my affliction. Overall, I left the clinic feeling discouraged. I’ll have to do my research and find a doctor that’s right for me. If you are an African American male this might not be the best doctor for you.
