Too much waiting time for a basic procedure
Everything was great, Dr. Lugerner was very kind and easy to talk to.
The office was very nice and I did not wait long. Dr. Lugerner was very professional, but I felt as though he didn't believe me or my symptoms. I felt like he degraded me and my primary care doctor (who I told him about). He refused to test me for what I thought I had, and sent me home with only the advice of taking an over the counter pain killer. I wish I would have seen someone else as I still am very, very sick and payed a copay for no reason.
Dr. Lugerner was exactly what I wanted in a doctor: relaxed, understanding, and thorough. I felt like he had everything under control from the moment he walked in the door. He was effective and efficient in his examination, and made me feel very comfortable the entire time. Would definitely recommend him to anyone that asked
I had a great experience in this office. The office itself was nice and looked newly built/renovated, with nice lighting and finishes. From the beginning, the desk staff was very friendly, fun, joking around and made it feel like I wasn't sick at the doctor's office! Dr. Lugerner himself was a pleasant man, respectful, social, helpful, and seemed knowledgeable and experienced. I would definitely return to this practice the next time I need to see a PCP.
Everything was good. Very interactive and friendly
He helped me better understand the world of arthritis, informing me of treatment options and making recommendations for a course of physical therapy that I will pursue.
He was very thorough in reviewing my left leg pain situation. After testing my ability to use my leg in several positions, he recommended an appointment with a specialist for treatment. I have had him as my primary care physician for many years and enjoyed seeing him again.
Very professional, listened to my questions, and offered helpful advice. Happy to have him as my new Primary Care Physician and will recommend him to others.
The assistant who took my information told me she didn't want to be there, and then lectured me about why I SHOULDN'T be on birth control. I felt very uncomfortable.
Dr Lugerner was personal and honest when I asked him some of my future health issues. I would recommend him to anyone as he was professional and caring.
I don't think I like his approach . Wasn't very attentive. Brushed off my concerns and was more focused on my weight than what I came to see him for.
Dr. Lugerner recently moved into a new office with MedStar Health. It's a great new facility. The wait was just too long...30 minutes after my appointment time. He is a good listener and thorough.
This was an hour of my life that I will never get back. The doctor treated my concerns as a nuisance, and instead of getting a medical opinion, I received an unsolicited lecture. Probably the worst medical experience I have had so far.
I am changing doctors. I felt I wasn't listened to at all. I complained of completely plugged ears for weeks, and trying to deal at home. I said my asthma was getting out of control and that I was basically sucking on my inhalers so I could function. Then I asked about a constant drip/sinus issues. I asked him to please clean my ears. I was told no, even though he saw buildup and water. "Put drops in them at home".... yeah, I'd been doing that already for a week to no avail. Then all he focused on was that I used to smoke. No mention of a new plan for my asthma during this terrible spring season. "Change to Zyrtec for your allergies. Maybe you need shots" Less than two weeks later I am in the ER due to an EXTREME asthma attack. I was turning blue and couldn't speak. I was minutes away from being intubated. He is not the Doc for me.
I have had nothing but excellent care and experience from Dr. Lugerner over the past six years. I am terribly sad to hear he has retired. I will miss him, and wish him well. Thanks for the caring!
Wait time super super slow, my app was 3:30, met the doctor at 4:30, although the session time for investigation was very short, less than 15 mints!
I made the reservation online and arrived on time at 9:45. The assistant came out and asked for the 9:45, but another person said he had a 9:15. She came out later and somebody else said they had a 9:30. Aside from getting my vital signs, I got no treatment for close to 75 minutes. What good is an automated reservation system if people have to wait so long?
great, to the point, no bs practitioner. excellent consultation.
The office was kind of a mess. The power went out in the middle of the appointment. The doctors, RNs, and assistants did not seem to get along. I answered many of the same questions multiple times. And the doctor did not ask probing questions about my health. At the end, rather than taking care of my tests in their practice, they sent me up to LabCorp where I waited for quite awhile.
I'm not the type of person that ever writes reviews online but I don't think I've had such a negative experience with a doctor in my life. I tried to tell him why I came and rather than listening, he just consistently cut me off. Then without any diagnosis or test request, told me that he couldn't do anything, I needed a specialist. Then after looking through my medical record he found mention that I once years ago admitted I smoked on rare occasion. Even though I honestly can't tell you the last time I smoked (as I told him) he spent literally the next 10 minutes lecturing me on it then decided to write I had a dependence on my record. He simply doesn't listen to his patients.
While brief, he's always thorough which I appreciate.
I was not examined during my visit! I came in with complaints of severe allergies (or so I think) and he never once examined my ears, nose, mouth, breathing, etc. I have never been to a doctor's office where an examination was not made but a diagnosis was. I was advised to return to my original allergy medication and come back with further complications.
Doctor took his time and answered all my questions. Very experienced! Like that I could fill out my forms with ZocDoc prior to arrival.
The sore through and fever I had persisted for another week after I visited doctor. I already suffered this for a week before that. I was really looking forward the doctor would give me something. He didn't give me anything except taking one strap throat test. He said there is nothing he can do and I should let it run it course. The sore throat got worse as I have to travel to NYC in the week after.
I like Dr. Lugerner. He gave me great health advice, and we also had an informed discussion about law and politics. Great doctor l!
Dr. Lugerner has been my primary care physician for a number of years. He is very professional, extremely knowledgeable, and has helped me through one severe health challenge. My only reservation is that he can be a bit abrupt and is not as warm in his manner as some other doctors I've known. Overall, however, I've been satisfied with his care and will continue to see him.
Dr. connected with me, so good bedside manner. Thorough, and didn't run any unnecessary tests (as some doctors do to run up the bill). Very professional, very satisfied.
I've been seeing Dr. Lugerner for over 10 years. He's professional and responsive, and when I've needed other help, has recommended several excellent specialists. I recommend him highly.
I am very impressed. He is very professional and appears to be very knowledgeable. His staff is competent.
I did not like him. He seemed frustrated by my questions, and he referred me to a lab for a test but I came to discover that this particular lab no longer performed the test. It was a complete waste of time. Also, I wrote the wrong "code" for the lab test on my referral which made scheduling it additionally difficult. In short, he wasn't incredibly nice and he wasn't paying any attention to me. It was a bad experience. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.
Great experience. The wait didn't take long...im glad I filling out the forms electronically before getting there. He was very personable...thorough...and seemed to genuinely care about my health. I'll go back.
Dr. Lugerner is personable and makes me feel very comfortable. I'm able to tell him everything and he is very straight forward with treatment, care and advice. I am not ever confused when speaking to him.
I was very satisfy with the professionalism and helpful attitude of people working in the office. I did not have my insurance ID # they looked it up printed a copy for me to keep . Nice and experienced doc .
Once seen the the visit was to the point and satisfactory. However, the wait and lack of communication in the waiting room beforehand was ridiculous. I arrived early, was barely acknowledged, and had to ask twice whether I was going to be seen. From arrival I waited 70 minutes. If there is a delay just let me know. Not courteous or professional.
I've seen this guy a couple of times and he is weird. I'm switching doctors.
My visit with Dr. Lugerner went well. Dr. Lugerner also answered any questions I had and gave me some suggestions to benefit my health.
Felt very rushed.
I have seen dr lugerner 4 times and I had to end up changing him because he was just not very thorough and made one of my problems go worse.
Had a quick visit. I was going in for blood work and there was nothing spectacular or awful to write about. Everything seemed standard.
I was nervous
kind and attentive and efficient
Over all it was excellent
I felt like I was just rushed through the appointment with the doctor. Could not get a word in to thoroughly discuss my concerns, since being cut off so many times.
Came for an annual visit. Checked-in and completed the insurance processing in a few minutes. A minute after I sat down I was called in to see the doctor. Dr. Lugerner was friendly, professional, and willing to discuss in length some of my medical questions or concerns. In and out in about 45 minutes.
Very good he answered the questions I had and Dr. Lugerner gave me helpful tips to continue take better care of myself.
I rarely visit the doctor, and Dr. Lugerner made me feel comfortable. He ensured any questions I had were answered and made the experience pleasant!
HE WAS GREAT^
Dr. Lugerner is very competent and I've never had any issues with him, his manner or treatment. However, twice now, the same nurse who draws blood in his office has left my arm black and blue. I just had blood taken 2 weeks ago at Whitman Walker and it barely left a mark. Healed right away. The same woman drew my blood at Dr. Lugerner's office both times I've been now and today, as well as last time my arm looks pretty terrible. Like I stopped a truck with it or use heroin pretty frequently! It's embarrassing to walk around like this for any period of time. I don't think I'll go back to Dr. Lugerner's office. There are plenty of PCPs whose staff is just as well trained as they are.
Arrived early, and was *actually* seen 10-15 minutes prior to my appointment. Was not expecting that. Dr. Lugerner cuts to the chase - he doesn't ask about how you're doing, but rather the reason why you're there. Has no emotion and does indeed feel like he wants to see you and move on. But, he is professional and does want to followup and see how you're doing. I do recommend him, not for customer service but for his actually status as a physician.
After reading other reviews, I was concerned about the wait time. Coincidentally, a woman waiting for a different doctor had been waiting quite a long time (close to 45 minutes), but I was fortunately seen only 15 minutes past my appointment time. I thought that was fine. Office staff was very nice and polite; Dr. Lugerner was very personable and knowledgeable. I would recommend Dr. Lugerner and the office to others.
The front desk staff was great. She helped make the check in process seamless. The doctor was knowledgeable but seemed to rush me. I had questions but when I asked him a question, it seemed like I was bothering him. Debating on if I will go back.
The office didn't have record of my appointment even though I booked through ZocDoc and got email and text confirmation. They were able to squeeze me in but the wait was long.
Dr Lugerner is a very knowledgeable, friendly, and an all-around good guy. Came here not knowing what to expect from him and left the office feeling great. He is going to be my permanent Doctor from now on.
Had to wait a bit this time. Otherwise it was pretty good.
Great doctor. Great visit.
Definitely would recommend Dr. Lugerner. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and is a great doctor all around.
Excellent - short wait, friendly, took time to talk with me. Can't ask for more. Will go again.
Waited over an hour to see him. That is unacceptable
Excellent experience. I've found my new doctor. Highly recommend.
Made me feel very comfortable , he was nice and straight to the point.
Great doctor! I have been looking for a general family physician since I moved to DC and haven't been able to find anyone I was comfortable with. I'll be sticking with Dr. Lugerner
He listened to my cold-like symptoms, asked important questions, checked my ears, nose, throat. He answered my questions, made treatment suggestions. And even though he was sure it's not strep throat, he swab tested to be sure. He is kind, helpful and smart, all you can ask.
Excellent visit. In and out
The Doctor was professional and the staff was good. I would recommend this doctor.
Dr. Lugerner was very straightforward with me, which I appreciated. I might follow up with him in the future. The main administrative issue I ran into was, even though I submitted much of my information through ZocDoc in advance, the staff didn't transfer it into their system and they didn't seem to be aware that I had already submitted the information. It seemed redundant to have to repeat myself.
the Dr evrything is goog, except i got a conflect with billing. as soon as he sent my blood symples to labs, never covered by my medicare a and b, and my QMB card, may be my ingormaion in the his front desk record is wrong, please check it.
I went to his office for a walk-in visit for an illness. It's fairly close to my office so I appreciate that. I went in and was seen within 15 minutes, and was out in under half an hour. The doctor is both knowledgable and efficient, which I appreciate.
Hw very polite and amiable. Had great recommendations for follow-up specialists.
He was very responsive and appeared very knowledgeable and had sufficient time to ask questions
Short wait, very efficient prep, and I have always had good experiences with Dr. Lugerner.
Very well run office. Dr. Lugerner is polite and shows concern; he also asked the right questions. Support staff is excellent. Very happy with the visit.
Always a great experience. Engaging, ready to help and went above and beyond reason for visit - asking if there was anything else I needed or wanted to chat about. Highly recommend.
Dr. Lugerner, took the time to talk with me and explain everything step by step. He made me feel safe.
The receptionist was disorganized, and I wasn't seen until 40+ minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Dr. Lugerner is competent and handled my appointment well. I appreciate the office's digital record keeping. However it was offputting when he kept typing into the system while he was asking questions and I was responding. I'm sure it's efficient, but at times I felt like I was talking to a stenographer. It's a small thing he could fix.
Not only listens to everything, but asks very pointed questions. He's done numerous follow-ups at my own request, and any number of tests (always asking and recommending first, before just doing them). Highly, highly recommended.
Very good visited. Very friendly doctor and staff. Dr. Lugerner was very knowledgeable and helpful and kept checking to make sure that he'd addressed all of my questions. They also got me in to see the doctor right away, which was nice.
Adequate, but perfunctory.
Dr. Lugerner was short with me and the appointment felt very rushed. His staff was less than helpful. They were not busy while I was there and yet they were snappy and in a foul mood both times I visited the office. When I had simple questions they replied with, "I'm not sure what you want me to do for you". The office itself was very dirty. I won't be returning.
Waited over an hour just to be rushed out the door!
There seemed to be some confusion about whether or not I had an appointment or not so not sure if problem eith their office or ZocDoc but they took me on in straightaway. Receptionist was polite, professional. Physician was polite, prompt, knowledgeable. Appointment was unrushed. I had time to ask questions and he responded with care and concern.
Great job, bit of a wait but he apologized, said it was unusual, and treated me effectively and quickly with a great manner.
perfect choice for a doctor and I would refer him to all my friends
Dr. Lugerner was personable, knowledgable and got me in and out in no time! I enjoyed my visit from the front desk, through the doctor visit and right up to checkout. Of highly recommend this doctor and his office.
I felt listened to; Dr. carried me along with questions I could understand
Dr. Lugerner was friendly and efficient. He listened carefully to the description of my symptoms, gave a quick diagnosis, and had the referral and prescriptions I needed ready in no time. He seems like a nice guy and won't waste any of your time. The office staff was also friendly.
Good rapport. Would recommend him to others.
Courteous, friendly, efficient staff: receptionist, nurse, and Dr.Lugerner himself. While my illness did not require an antibiotic, simple remedies such as gargling with salt solution or using saline nasal spray were not suggested. Dr. Lugerner was friendly & cordial, and provided specific advice for blood pressure monitoring. I would gladly see him again!
Quick turnaround! Good doc!
Excellent. Would recommend without reservation
Extremely down to earth and attentive. He looks at your health holistically - not merely at the reported symptoms - and gives you suggestions. He doesn't prescribe unnecessary medication.
Dr. Lugerner has bad Yelp reviews, but I found him to be pleasant and I really appreciated his desire to hone in on core issues. He's definitely direct, though he does have a sense of humor. I like that he takes an approach focusing on composite health, i.e., the full health package and how to maintain that. What might seem clippy or curt to some is him actually trying to get at the real issues/problem to make a proper diagnosis. I look forward to continuing to use him as my primary physician.
I had a productive appointment, but the receptionist was flooded with patients and calls. Perhaps more staff or a larger office is in order?
Office visit went well. Issues were dealt with right away. Suggested a specialist for further examination. Very satisfied with visit.
Doctor took the time to listen and address all my questions. Did take a little longer than I expected to see him but I've waited longer for other doctors.
Dr. Lugerner was friendly, but not an all-star. His office staff was a little slow, not too friendly and did not make it clear what the payment procedure was.
Recently relocated to DC area and was in need of a primary care physician to carry out ongoing care/prescription needs. Dr. Lugerner took a comprehensive medical history and made sure to address all needs and questions I had.
prompt. personal . very attentive to your needs as an individual.
My experience was what you hoped a first visit to a new GP would be; relatively timely (15 mins late), courteous staff, and an attentive physician. Dr. Lugerner took the time to listen before diving into a course of action, and paid attention. Very much a high recommend. He's my new GP!
Warm, compassionate, to the point.
Dr Lugerner is real, no frills and attentive. Sure he is busy, every doc is! He took his time to address my concerns, asking lots of questions, dotting his i's, crosing the t's.
The office was fairly crowded, but Dr. Lugerner was great and took plenty of time to ask questions and to let me ask questions, and was very clear in what he thought my diagnosis was and what my next steps should be.
Saw reviews on Yelp saying he was rushed and office didn't take credit. This wasn't the case at all! He took a really long time with me to discuss my symptoms and various treatment routes.
Just awesome. Dr. Lugerner is frank, meticulous, and extremely knowledgeable. He listens with great care, asks many questions, responds thoroughly questions, remains patient and kind throughout. He will not mollycoddle you; nor will he metaphorically hold your hand. However, he pays a great deal of attention to your health holistically, and will never merely treat your symptoms with palliative medicine like most doctors nowadays - Dr. Lugerner is more concerned about the root problem BEHIND the symptoms, not the symptoms themselves, and prescribes steps to treat that underlying condition. Further, Dr. Lugerner is hesitant to prescribe unnecessary medicine, even OTC drugs. As someone who is wary of the pharmaceutical industry, I appreciate this enormously. I could go on and on about Dr. Lugerner. He's truly awesome.
On point and straight forward. Very nice Dr. always open to questions.
The office was unusually warm, friendly and welcoming. Dr. Lugener was professional, friendly and direct.
Their office is very organized and clean. I am a new patient, but they already had my forms pre-filled out with information from ZocDoc, which saved me some time there. Dr. Lugerner was very professional, and was very helpful in my referral for a specialist. I would recommend this office to anyone.
I always enjoy seeing Dr. Lugerner. He is very direct, straightforward, and determined to help you get to the bottom of whatever is bothering you. He is very talented at getting to the core of your symptoms and their causes. My only complaint would be that on occasion the wait time can be a little high, though it has not been an issue lately.
Thought he and his staff were fantastic - friendly, helpful and professional!
Very comforting and keen to help.
I think the practice has greatly improved. I was very pleased with my visit.
Dr Lugerner gave very good adviice on my retirement life.
Good appointment. Very detailed. In and out.
Parking was $17 for an hour and a half, which they do not validate. The visit was fine, mainly because the nurse was very polite and kind. The doctor did not shake my hand (it was my first visit) and didn't give me a chance to even explain what was wrong.
He listened to my concerns and was amazing.
I thought he was nice and straight to the point. It was a pleasant visit.
Very efficient office. He's the type of doctor that cuts right to the chase.
I liked Dr. Lugerner; very knowledgeable and straight-forward, and listened to all of my 'ideas'. Checked in with me while I had blood drawn to see if I had any more questions or follow up items, made it seem like he had plenty of time for whatever I might need. Left me a follow up voicemail even before the date he estimated and returned my call quickly.
Seemed professional enough, but bad bed side manner.
Very professional and efficient.
Dr. Lugerner was absolutely amazing. He was timely, kind, respectful, interested, and knowledgeable. He did a fantastic job of trying to understand the problem at hand and clearly conveyed what he though was the best approach going forward. Could not recommend higher.
Quick visit, but very thorough. Made a good recommendation for a specialist.
Nice doctor, quick visit, good location.
With the exception of time spent entering information into the computer for the first time, it went very well. I was especially pleased with Dr. Lugerner's phone call the following morning reporting on the results of blood tests.
I have gone to him for a number of years. He is very competent and I trust his judgment and care. If you need warm and fuzzy from your doctor, he may not be perfect for you. On the other hand, if you want someone who is medically very good, I recommend him.
Very quick, efficient and has more of a 'nothern' personable about him. Don't take that as he doesn't care - he gave me his card and said call him over the weekend if things didn't improve. This was all during my first appointment with him.
Kind, courteous, and most importantly, he asked me multiple times if he had answered all of my questions. Really happy to have found such a great physician near work. All of the office staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
Guy knows his stuff.
Dr. actually saw me early - bonus points! Lugerner is knowledgable, direct, no-nonsense but friendly. Helpful GP; am very picky and would recommend. Office is no frills but the staff are very friendly and accommodating. A!
Always too the point, but interested, and extremely helpful.
Saw the nurse quickly fir bp check, weigh in, etc. but took a long time to acgtually see the doctor. Lab tests were done on the spot and very efficiently.
Dr. Lugerner was absolutely great! Took my medical condition seriously and sincerely. He was able to see me same day and was very prompt. I'll be using him as my PCP! Thank you Dr. Lugerner!
Very kind and professional, I liked him and felt comfortable with him.
It is a bit early to ask one's opinion after a first meeting with a health care professional, but I can say definitively I found him clear, knowledgeable and to the point. Very proactive.
It isn't always like this, but I got in within a couple of minutes of my appointed time. The PA took my vitals and Dr. Lugerner was in a minute or two after that. Some comments I've seen elsewhere claim Dr. Lugerner is too brusque, but I find him helpful, willing to explain what's going on and careful to explain whatever recommendations or treatment he gives. Don't ask him about insurance though!
Fantastic experience. The staff was great and they called me right away. Straight forward, no nonsense visit with Dr. Lugerner as well. Highly recommend.
Dr. Lugerner is great! He's very knowledgeable and friendly. He takes a holistic approach with his patients and is concerned for all aspects of their well-being. The office is conveniently located downtown. You will leave feeling better already.
The doctor did exactly what I wanted/expected him to do.
Great doctor. Efficient, straightforward, but makes sure to address everything you bring up.
This was my third visit to this office. I am not sure what the problem is, but each time I have had to wait at least an hour past my appointment time before I saw the doctor. I mentioned this to someone at the office today telling them that I was trying to get this done on my lunch break and was told that I should never do that because I don't know when I'll get seen. Why take appointments then?
Not a warm and fuzzy guy, but nice enough and seemed to know what he was doing.
He was rude and demeaning. I left his office feeling worse than when I went in because he made me feel so dumb and insignificant. I'll never go back and I don't recommend him.
Dr. Lugerner is a very knowledgeable Dr. and I am glad that I went to see him. I feel that he will help me get to the heart of my problem. Marianne Gray
My first feeling in the first time see the Dr. Stanley, according to he asked me quqstions, I believe that he is very responsible Dr.
If you want a straight forward no-nonsense doctor Dr. Lugerner might be right for you. I am tired of doctors that just tell you what you want to hear to appease you. He will tell you what you need to hear in a gentle way. I like the truth from a doctor and that is what you get with Dr Lugerner. I was seen quickly and was treated with total respect by everyone in the office. I recommend him highly to everyone.
Very Straightforward in his assessment. Helps you understand the risks and what to do to avoid them.
Dr. Lugerner was kind, efficient and had a pleasant and engaging bedside manner. He took the time to explain why he recommended the treatments he did and why he did not recommend others, which I always appreciate. He answered all of my questions knowledgeably and took the time to carefully discuss referral options for specialists. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
Very professional and explained everything that was going on. It was more of a conversation than office visit. Office staff was equally professional and friendly.
Wait time was a bit slow but otherwise I was very pleased.
Didn't enjoy the 20 minute wait for phlebotomist.
Got in quickly. Very thorough.
Had a very good and efficient appointment.
I signed up for my appointment 12 hours before I was seen. The process was simple and quick! The staff members were all friendly and went the extra mile. Dr. Lugerner was both professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend him!
Dr Lugerner is good. Very professional and thorough. Explained things well. My only gripe is the wait time. Waited about an hour. That was pretty painful.
Very friendly and professional. Calm and soothing manner.
All business, and I mean that in a good way.
Very nice man!
Is my first meeting with Dr. Lugener, I have not idea what good can be?
I am a physician myself, so it's hard for me to defer to another physician but Dr. Lugerner was excellent, efficient and thorough. I felt he addressed all of my concerns as well as other things I had not anticipated. I highly recommend him. You will not feel rushed in the least bit. The office is a little dingy, and they still use paper charts, so lab results will likely not be able to be accessed via the internet, however, nonetheless, his experience in the field and expertise are worth it.
The most caring Doc I ever seen. I highly recommend him..Al K
I was referred to a radiologist for an x-ray for my ribs and never received a follow-up call regarding the results of the x-ray
Dr. Lugerner was great, did not rush the apt at all, and made sure to fully explain everything. He answered all of my questions and was very nice. The only downside was the long wait time, but I would wait again because he was a great Doctor.
Great experience. Polite and professional staff. Will definitely use again.
In and out pretty quickly. Saw doc right away after waiting room
Dr. L was great!
Nice and efficient visit; no unnecessary procedures.
Dr. Lugerner is friendly and personable, and always takes the time to ask questions. I appreciate his professionalism, and will recommend him to others.
I've been here once now for an annual physical. He seemed knowledgeable, wasn't in a rush, didn't do or recommend anything unnecessary. Asked questions, listened to what I said. At my last physical another doc saw me for 3 minutes and wrapped up by sending me down the hall for a standard blood test (that's why I ended up here looking for a new doc). This doc was way more interested in my overall health. I'll come back.
I thought Dr. Lugerner was excellent. He took his time, was very helpful and informative. I also thought the staff at the front desk was adequate. They're not super-friendly but they get the job done.
Contrary to reports that I read prior to booking an appointment, I found Dr. Lugerner engaging and interested in me as a new patient.
Office staff were unfriendly and condescending (e.g. No greeting, terse directions to fill out paperwork, complaints about not having enough vacation, etc.). First visit with Dr. Lugerner wasn't much better either. Visit felt rushed and Dr. Lugerner appeared to be going through the motions with limited conversation. Subsequent interactions were a little better but the overall experience was below average.
He asked me a lot of questions and listened pretty well. He wanted to be sure I told him all of my symptoms. It was great, highly recomended
Though had correct info on my forms, still send bill to wrong address causing me late fine. Front desk attendant very rude. The quality of his bedside manner is the reason for his empty waiting room. His diagnoses were over rehearsed and generic. His refused to consider alternative methods of treatment and clearly was pushing brand-name medications though generics were readily available and covered by my insurance. His follow up consultations were overtly underenthusiastic. I felt like I was being judged as a person and not treated as a patient.
Great experience. He was straight forward and knowledgable. Only downside -- my appt was 8 mins late. Oh well!
Not only did I like Dr Lugerner, but the staff was excellent. And the phlebotomist was outstanding!
He seemed to be a bit overscheduled the day I was there and was slightly brisk, but was very competent and professional. The office is very organized and efficient.
He took time to listen to my main concerns and medical history, and offered me relevant medical advice and recommendations. It was the first office visit since I am a new patient.
Dr. Lugerner was absolutely phenomenal. I hadn't been to a Dr. in quite some time and had some serious unresolved health issues, so I was quite nervous. However, within minutes, Dr. Lugerner made me feel confident in his abilities and my prospects for better health. His genuine concern was also evident and much appreciated.
FAST AND TO THE POINT.
Dr. Lugerner is straight to the point which I appreciate (being a fellow New Yorker) and personally followed up promptly by phone on my bloodwork a few days later. Only minus was the very long wait around an hour) to see him after my scheduled appointment time had already passed.
Friendly, thorough, and patient with questions
Very nice, attentive, and thoughtful doctor. Gave consideration to the course of treatment that would be most convenient, which was very helpful given that some of the treatment options (i.e. seeing a specialist) likely would have taken a long time to schedule.
The doctor is wonderful, but his staff, not so much. My ZocDoc appointment was confirmed and then immediately rescheduled by the office. This is actually the second tims this has happened with this office. Once I got there, I had to wait almost an hour before he saw me. Once there, he was great. Very professional and took good care of me. The professionalism of office leaves something to be desired, unfortunately.
Very straightforward doctor - got in, got out. I just wish they had a lab onsite instead of having to go to LabCorp.
He was very friendly and obviously was trying hard to create a long-standing relationship with me which I appreciated.
First meeting. Much friendlier in person. The pic is a bit severe. I am also faulted for not smiling in photos even though I think I am smiling. Seems common sense.
I thought that he did a fine job. I could see how some might be rubbed the wrong way by his bedside manner, but it works for me as he is concise and to the point. I am busy person and don't require any coddling. I was a bit surprised by the waiting area. It could use a serious update and upgrade considering its location.
Dr. Lugerner seemed like an intelligent doctor, and his bedside manner was fine. I did feel like the visit was a bit rushed. I was there for a routine physical and I did not think that it was terribly thorough. I did not go to him with any specific problems so I don't have any insight into how it would be to deal with him in those circumstances.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Lugerner. I have been living in DC for over 6 years and this is the best experience I've had in a General Practice.
The visit went very well -- Dr. Lugerner was friendly. This was only my annual check-up, so I did not require any medical attention, but the visit went well and the Dr. was able to fit me in for a check-up the same week I booked.
Outstanding doctor. Feels like he genuinely cares for the well being of his patients. Made me feel real comfortable. Great communicator.
Dr. Lugerner provided me with straight forward answers and recommendations. It was my first visit with him and I will definitely schedule other appointments with him in the future.
very informed doctor
Listened patiently, spoke clearly and comfortingly.
After searching for so many years, I think I finally found a primary physician. Dr. Lugerner was very attentive, he took his time to listen to me and to address all my questions. The wait was very short in the waiting room as well as in the exam room.
He was very friendly and easy-going. I also admired his willingness to teach a student/intern in his office (having been an intern before, myself).
Very impressed by this doctor. He did a great job asking about my history and was very direct and clear with his diagnosis.
He seemed rushed, and didn't spend as much time listening to my concerns as I would have liked.
