In addition to practicing general urology Dr. Berman has a particular interest in kidney, bladder and prostate cancer and minimally invasive office based procedures. BERMAN NO LONGER PERFORMS VASECTOMIES AND CIRCUMCISIONS*** In 1990, after four years in private practice in New York and the Bronx, Dr. Berman joined Urological Associates - Dr. Bernard Fruchtman and Dr. Jon Marks. With the addition of Dr. Mark Stein in 1997 and the retirement of Dr. Fruchtman in 1998 the practice is currently known as Advanced Urology Centers of New York. Dr. Berman is married and has three children. He enjoys most sports, in particular, tennis and skiing.

Was not seen until 2:50pm for a 1:45pm appointment. Doctor was courteous but they clearly overbook patients. Staff could be more attentive as I was called back an hour later (after leaving Manhattan) to come back in to leave a sample for tests to be run. The doctor mentioned no tests and the women at the front desk didn't either prior to my leavinn. Got an attitude when I said I will not be coming back in to do the tests as it had nothing to do with my visit and was not mentioned by the doctor at the time of my visit. Overall good doctor with a disorganized staff.

Prostate check,urology check but it was awful.Since walking in the front desk was so rude and was making comments with no reason.The blonde one who was pregnant that one should not be there.The doctor just came in to fill out the form asked two questions and he said oh we have to do follow up check ups without even checking the previous paperworks. Honestly very disappointed,do no waste your money and time here.Plus they do charge cash even if you have insurance.
Dr, Berman is great. I had to speak with him about some pretty serious issues and concerns -- medical, psychological, deeply personal -- and he was compassionate and understanding, super professional, and also very honest and direct. I had to wait for quite a while, and I was on time... but I still highly recommend this doctor, and I will definitely keep him on my medical team. 5 enthusiastic stars for this guy.
This Doc's bedside manner is brutal. Brushed off my issue as nothing, and turns out when you take 120 seconds with a patient and ask no questions you can miss things. I rarely write reviews for anything, but I wasn't pleased with his demeanor.
Wait time is extremely high. Doctor is proficient and straight forward. Staff not so friendly. May repeat just for the sake of doctor.

The doctor was helpful but not very friendly at all. Hard to have a convo with in my opinion. He did offer suggestions but was not very pleasant.

While checkin procedure was good, the long wait time did not impress me being my first visit. And after such a long wait, doctor spent barely 10 minutes for the exam. While other urologist I have visited did the ultrasound of the stomach in the first appointment, doctor Berman did not.
He is simply amazing, and cares so much!!

I have had good experiences at Dr. Berman's office. I often am in just for drop off and the staff is always really kind and accommodating. He is to the point yet thorough. I appreciate his help and will continue to go back.

Dr. Berman is highly recommended. I have been seeing him for years and trust him completely.
His attitude toward the visit made me very uncomfortable. He immediately suggested a biopsy and showed no emotion or empathy when I mentioned that there was a danger of infection and bleeding. I told him that two other doctors who are no longer in network had suggested an MRI as a first procedure and I had to argue with him. He told me that an MRI would cost so much it would never be approved and quoted a price more than five times the value that the radiology lab said it would cost. The request for an MRI was denied and my insurance stated that there was no indication that Dr. Berman had made an additional appeal, as his office said they had. Evicore stated that they never received the lav test that I had emailed to Dr. Berman's office. I do not feel that there was any sort of interest in taking care of me. I have never before complained about the care I have received by a physician, but I felt this was a horrible experience.

Dr. Berman is very straight to the point. If you don't need to be comforted and want a provider that will get you in and out, he is your guy. Did a good job and no complaints and would recommend him.
