As a Board certified Internist practicing in mid town Manhattan for over 15 years, I understand the needs of the busy professional patient. They want appointments when they actually need them. They want quality, no nonsense care delivered efficiently in a location very close to their office and appreciate using their insurance whenever possible.I believe in treating the entire patient as a whole body, not in chopped up segments, a specialist for this and a specialist for that. When necessary, I refer my patient to specialists who treat my patients as I do- ensuring continuous quality care. As skin issues are so common and often appear suddenly, dermatology care is offered in this office by a board certified Dermatologist.

Dr. Decotiis is nice. Seemingly is concerned about her patients, but the staff, not so much. They are not very concerned about communicating what is going on nor are they concerned about wasting your time and will have you waiting around indefinitely. Oh, not to mention, they weren't the most welcoming bunch of front desk attendants. Perhaps a cup of coffee in the morning would've put a smile on their face and at least made it seem like they wanted to work.
I felt good after I get blood work back and see where I'm at I feel she will help me with a few issues I have. Very pleasant and I felt very comfortable
When I visited Dr. Sue the girls at the front desk were rude and I also spoke to one of the ladies on the phone a few minutes ago asking for results for a breathing test, she acted as if I should have known that you don't get those results back. I didn't go to medical school so I don't know. Word of advise: Don't make people feel incompetent over the phone, be understanding. I'm nervous I have trouble breathing, don't act as if I'm wasting your precious time, and just listen and if I don't understand explain it another way don't act like I am bothering you. If someone has a question about something serious like a medical condition instead of giving an attitude, maybe you should show some empathy.
I met with the, nurse practitioner who was fabulous!
Please do not visit this doctor. I put up with the push to purchase supplements for years because she was close to my office. However, this summer I was experiencing what turned out to be a medical emergency but was dismissed by her during an in office visit. This was the second office visit for this same illness. She hastily examined me while I was in a lot of pain, told me to lay down and then left the appointment. 20 minutes later the PAs come in to take blood work, I ask if she is coming back and they say they don't know. Meanwhile I can hear her in the next exam room peddling her supplements. She eventually comes back and I ask what I should do, she says just go home and rest and prescribes pain meds. Fast forward 3 weeks and I just received a call from the office that the Dr would like to discuss my blood results. This is after I ended up checking into the hospital and spending a week there with a life threatening infection that required surgery. Please do not visit if you want a Dr that recognizes serious symptoms and cares about patients. Staff is is also rude, made an excuse that the delay in blood results was due to a Verizon outage and was hung up on after I said I would not come in to discuss my bloodwork because I was now being seen by Drs through the hospital.
Very disorganized. A week after my appt, I followed up with some prescriptions that were not called in and to see if I could change one to a generic brand. They didn't know the difference between allergy or asthma medication. I won't be back.
as always Dr Decotis listened and expressed her concerns, detailing everything in a friendly professional manner. I just wish that after these years of seeing her she would remember that I was a loyal client and not say "It nice to meet you " every time.
Super easy, super efficient. Great doctor!
I've only been to her once. She was very nice but you could tell she was really busy. I felt more like she wanted to make a quick buck off me than anything else.
I've been seeing Dr. Decotiis for years and would highly recommend her.
Ok doctor, it just always feels like she's trying to sell me her nutritional supplements.
Don't go to Dr. Decotiis if you are looking for a normal primary care physician. First, the office staff automatically runs a large gamut of tests on you without even consulting the physician first. For instance, for a general physical exam, they take your blood, do urinalysis, and an EKG before you even meet the doctor. This made me incredibly uncomfortable and lose trust in this office. Next, Dr. Decotiis refers to two different types of medicine- "traditional medicine" (which she doesn't focus on) and "her method" which involves probiotics/supplements she created herself. Dr. Decotiis is nice and friendly, don't get me wrong. But, I'm really just looking for a traditional doctor who practices traditional medicine, so she's not the right fit for me. Finally, the office has no organization and doesn't report test results to its patients. I had to call them to check on my blood work results, and they said they are in the mail. Well, it's a month later and I never received them. 0/10 experience.
Dr. Decotiis is an excellent physician. She was quickly able to diagnose my condition and start me on an appropriate course of action. However, her office staff/nurses leave much to be desired. The doctor ordered a number of tests, and I had to come back to the office to get the results. I was called and told my results were back and I scheduled a time to come. They even called to confirm my appointment the day before. I get there and the nurse informs me that they in fact did not have my results and I would have to come back. WTH? I don't live or work in the area, so that was a HUGE inconvenience. Not to mention that a month later the results are not back?? There is something inherently wrong with the organization there. If you easily get frustrated with incompetent staff please go elsewhere. Dr. Decotiis is a wonderful though, and I continue to go because of her.
Her nursing staff seemed highly incompetent. After administering my flu shot, the young nurse returned to her desk to do nothing but scroll through her phone. She didn't clean the bed after I got off the bed - she only replenished the paper covering the bed before I sat on it. She didn't take measurements, but instead asked for my height and weight. Just didn't do the standard check-up procedure I'm used to.
I appreciate how she is willing to partner with you in treatment. I also like that she has her own line of products and many that are suitable for those on a vegan diet.
Didn't go too well, there was a billing dispute so I had to connect my healthcare provider with the office's billing department to review why I had a balance. Been visiting Sue for over 5 years and this has never happen. Will continue to go to this practice but was just disappointed with the billing experience.
Very nice and makes you feel comfortable.
I was there for my annual physical and they tried to sell me everything they could and tell me an EKG was covered under the insurance. I called (while waiting for 20 minutes) and the insurance said it was not covered! Then she tried to sell me vaccines that I don't need or already have.
I really enjoyed the meeting Dr. Sue. She was really caring for my needs and took the time to explain certain things that I may need to better my health.
I won't be going back. EVER. stay far far away. I have high blood pressure and am on medication. Every 3 months her office insisted I go back bc they said it needed to be monitored. Fine that makes sense. (this is after the front desk was shouting around the office my FULL name and prescription, asking the doctor if I to come back or if they could refill over the phone. A clear failure in doctor patient confidentiality. I know this bc a friend of mine was ironically in the waiting room) After waiting about 45 min - 1hr, i finally went into a room where I waited another 15 minutes. Finally the PA came in. She asked what I was there for, I said I was due for a refill, she asked what I was taking what dosage, and said, "okay here you go" no other questions asked, never checked my blood pressure, nothing. But of course sent a bill for a full office visit.
I didn't feel like there was much personal care given. I was also hit with a lot of bills that I was not warned about beforehand.
This was my first time visiting that office. I liked it a lot. everyone was nice. Dr was very professional and patience.
Always prompt, curtious attention to detail. her new office is beautiful and her staff is always very efficiant and helpful.
Everything went very well. Doctor Sue was extremely pleasant and answered all my questions. Definitely recommend her.
I went into the doctor's office with pains of a UTI - thankfully was given a same day appointment. I was given one dose of meds and sent on my way after a 2 hour wait to see her for less than 10 minutes. The next day, I was in excruciating pain and seeing blood in my urine. It took the Dr's office 2 days to call me back; in that time i had gone to City MD and received two different rounds of medication. When Dr. Decotiis' office called me back and I advised it had been two days since my call and I was seen by someone else, they responded with "Okay thanks, have a good day." Not even an apology! If you want to be seen in the current decade and not be ushered out of the offices, do go elsewhere.
I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. The staff and doctor/PA are all very nice and personable!
I don't understand the wait time in this office. What is the point of making an appointment when you have to sit in an exam room for 45 minutes. After waiting in the waiting room for 15. I think the new bigger office space has more exam rooms tricking patients into thinking the wait time won't be too long be no one is in the waiting room, they are all in exam rooms.
Dr Decotiis knows what she's doing and is friendly but seems to be running an enterprise and doesn't always spend a lot of time with patients. She also seems very focused on her weight loss products, which I realize is her specialty, but is something to be aware of if going for a GP appointment. Good if you want an efficient visit, bad if you want to spend time talking to your doctor about important issues.
The dr was alright. Not super warm and really pushes her supplements on you. Her orders to her front office staff are ATROCIOUS! She instructed an emu educated receptionist to call me with confusing news on my blood results then when I tried to speak with the doctor about it I was yelled at, hung up on and totally disrespected! They demanded if I had questions to make an appointment with the doctor so she could get another copay!!! What a devious practice. Never come here!
She is always very efficient and to the point.
I like the new offices. Much more space. Receptionists were courteous and professional.
I will not be going back to see Dr. Decotiis. I was asked to make repeat visits and have repeat blood tests, each time, oddly enough, finding something wrong with me that Dr. Decotiis had a "pill" in house to cure me with. Her own brand of pills, I might add. 4 visits, 4 different supplements that you are very pressured into purchasing. When I would ask for a prescription, with ingredients that I could go home and research, I was told that her brand was all natural and would be the better choice. Taken advantage of is an understatement. Total money scam, stay away.
I saw the least of Dr. Decotiis which was odd, but the nurse Tracy and medical assistant Gabrielle were great. Also the front desk ladies were good.
Doctor Decotiis is very caring and thorough.. Happy to have found someone who takes the time to listen to my concerns and answers all of my quetions.
She was very personable and thorough and made me feel comfortable.
I was a new patient and Dr. Decotiis took time to do a thorough history, talk about my medical issues and lay out a course of action. She was very professional and friendly, as well as her office staff. Very good experience!
Dr. Decotiis was personable, willing to listen, knowledgeable and thorough. Her staff are friendly and responsive. I definitely recommend paying her a visit.
Very friendly and welcoming staff!
Always a pleasure,
office is old and equipment was ancient.
I will never see this doctor again. I waited an hour to get in, was feeling horrible having been in the ER, and she spent most of the appointment pushing her supplements on me. Then she recommended I come back for a "free" nerve test. Now many months later, I receive a bill for this "free" test. This woman is a charlatan.
the visit was ok. She recommended her multi vitamins and has amedical weightloss program that was of interest to me. She was a little rushy and her front desk staff looked young.
Doctor Decotiis took the time to explain me the probable causes of my symptoms and the different tests she would run to diagnose the problem. I have been a couple of time and she is always great.
I think the staff, nurses and Dr. Decotiis are all wonderful. I am a newer patient and I have always had a great experience with Dr. Decotiis, she always listens to my concerns and leads me in the right direction. In fact, I was having one issue that I have since been free of for the last three months thanks to her suggestions and input. The staff is great, they always help me find an appointment, they are supper friendly and always resolve any issues that may come up.
She was great, and so were her staff! Highly recommend.
She is the best: knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly.
I went mainly to learn more about birth control and get a prescription and did not find Dr. Decotiis at all helpful. She came in 10 mins before my appointment was about to end and spent very little time talking to me about options I have. Instead she recommended a pill for me without taking consideration my needs. I also thought the exam room I was in was a little outdated and I noticed a rip on the patient bed. I wouldn't be coming back again.
Good as usual. Have been a long time patient.
I'm going to request my medical records and switch. I consistently wait more that thirty minutes to see her, and this is even with an appt. at 8:30am. The front desk was rude when they made an error. I scheduled an appt, they cancelled, but didn't tell me why. I went into ZocDoc to find another time and the same spot was still available so I rebooked. Apparently they hadn't synched their systems with Zoc Doc's even by the following day. They didn't tell me this, though, so I rebooked thinking it was a mistake. They were then rude to me for trying to book the same time slot. Also, beware being pushed supplements to buy from the office. Who knows what kind of margin they are getting on them.
She was super efficient and listened to all that I had to say. I will definitely be returning for future visits.
Incredibly unprofessional all around. From the physician assistants who were more interested in gossiping than answering questions to the doctor who wanted to sell me cosmetic procedures I was pretty unimpressed. What really bothered me though was the complete lack of follow up. No one ever called me with lab follow ups or test results. I just got a bill. That was it. COMPLETELY no impressed.
Friendly warm and knowledgable!
I loved my visit with Dr. Sue! she was extremely professional and I had very little to no wait time at all to see her. She is very approachable and makes you feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend her to friends and family. She even introduced me to a diet plan that I had been searching for after numerous failed attempts at weight loss.
Dr. Decotiis was extremely nice and efficient. There was very little wait time (I came in for an 8:15 appointment for an annual physical and left by 9 am). The nurses were generally friendly and helpful. My one complaint is that the office was a bit old. In particular, the bathroom is tiny and, one thing I found a bit disturbing, was that you leave your urine sample in the bathroom (where anyone could see it). There were also no wipes to use before giving the urine sample, which I have always done at other doctor's offices. Also, the office itself is on a floor where they were doing a lot of construction, so it seemed a bit sketchy when I first found it. I am used to going to bigger practices in nice, new offices, so this was an adjustment. Nevertheless, I chose this office for its convenience in booking appointments and the location (right near my office) - I will definitely go back, despite the somewhat ragged appearance - because Dr. Decotiis was great and because of the extremely convenient location.
I have to go three time to address the issue. She saw me 30 minutes after my schedule appointment. The first visit, she wanted to draw blood before even meeting me and talk to me! The second time I went she did not show up. Se said that she would call me when the result of my test came back. I called I week later since I had not heard form the office and was told results were not back. Today I went for the third since I have not heard from them and 2 weeks went by. I requested a copy of my tests results noting that results were ready the they after the blood was taken. In the mean time I was suffering unnecessarily for 2 weeks!
Excellent as always.
Dr Sue is very nice. The bills I received from her office were absolutely shocking- I received bills to my parent's address (don't know why they would send anything there) and my own address. The bills were for different amounts for the same service - and for services I did not have. We're talking $300 difference in the billing (after insurance) and multiple bills for $200, $400 and $500+. I noticed on reviews that she sends random bills for ridiculous amounts so I called her office ahead to double check that they take my insurance and ask the copays and insurance coverage. I was told that everything was 100% covered by insurance and I would just have a copay- not true! Dr. Sue then explained this by saying that I did not specifically ask the right questions. okaaay. Overall, while she is a nice, cute person, I will never go back. The office will bill you for ridiculous amounts and false services, she will try to sell you weight loss drugs/programs (is more of a weight loss dr than a generalist), she will sell her special probiotics to you ($60/bottle!!!!!) and the receptionist will walk into the patient room at her convenience (without knocking) to get her lunch from the fridge under the patient table.
I go because her office is convenient but she runs a factory line so I don't feel the attention is particularly personal and sometimes the wait is excessive. The last time I went, I waited 40 minutes and then ended up leaving before I even saw her.
My first was handled well. I was comfortable with the doctor.
Dr. Decoltiis seemed rushed and was "yeh-yeh'ing" me through my answers to her questions. She didn't have a super friendly disposition but was helpful in her answers to my questions. I was annoyed that I made a 1245 appointment during my lunch break waited for 30 minutes to placed into a room and also found out the woman next to me was given the same appointment time even though there was only one physician there to see patients. I wouldn't say she's a bad doctor, but I wouldn't reccommend her to anyone.
Dr. Decotiis was my primary doctor from 2003-2006, when I left NYC. Now that I'm a permanent resident here again, I immediately booked an appointment with her - she's my top choice for a Manhattan physician. There's no waiting time for booking appointments or in the waiting room; she's very kind and understanding, and explains any medical jargon in a clear manner that's both logical and comforting.
Best doc I've seen in NYC both DR. Decotiis and the nurse were very friendly and thorough.
I was overall really comfortable with Dr. Decotiis and the staff in the office. I thought that Dr. Decotiis was offering me so friendly advice about my skincare as a bonus however when I went to leave the office I was asked to pay $100 for the eye cream which was being recommended to me. I just went for a routine physical so I was a little turned off to the fact that I felt like it turned out to be a sales call.
While Sue was nice once I saw her she tried to sell her own personal medications rather than write a prescription. I find this to be such a conflict of interest for a doctor. Also, the office was not clean at all. 5 urine samples were sitting in the bathroom and they expected you to just place your sample next to the others - gross! Will not go back.
Dr. Decotiis is great - she's very attentive and knowledgeable and I would recommend her. Front desk nurse is very attentive and sweet. HOWEVER I went in for allergy testing recently and the allergist barely spoke English and wasn't able to explain my results to me - meanwhile when I tried to get the nurse to explain it to me she was incredibly nasty and rude and acted like I was making her go out of her way to get me an answer. If I didn't like Dr. Decotiis so much I would not be going back.
Dr. Sue Decotiis always had wonderful bedside manner. Very friendly and conversational as well as helpful with any questions or concerns that I had. Sometimes the wait was a little long and the facility could use a bit of a facelift. Other than that, I think she was a great doctor. I moved out of the city, otherwise I would still be using her as my primary care doctor!
Very friendly and genuine. In and out in 25 minutes. Listened to my concerns and pushed for deeper conversations about health opposed to a usual "drive-by" and Rx pick up.
Dr. Decotiis was fantastic. I've living in NYC for 10 years and this is the first time I actually felt I wasnt rushed out of the office! I went to get blood work prior to a surgery and she took the time to discuss other medical issues I might have. I would highly reccomend her, Im glad I found a doctor in NYC:)!
Honestly, Dr. Decotiis was a decent doctor. I can't say my experience was at all bad - and keep in mind that both my parents are physicians. So why the low ratings? - Receptionist was rude, curt and unhelpful. - 40 minute wait for appointment - and reception assured me the day before that I can be in and out within 30 minutes. I budgeted for an hour but that was nowhere close to enough. I had to cancel my afternoon meetings at the last minute. - Told me I had to make a separate appointment to just ask the doctor a follow up question. Since her office was just around the corner from where I work, I was hoping I could make her my regular MD. However, given the general rudeness and lack of timeliness, I don't think I have the time and patience to deal with her front desk again.
Dr. Decotiis is great!
Very friendly, effective, and efficient.
She was quick, attentive, and helpful.
I'm a long time patient and very comfortable with her. She's awesome!
Aside from the semi-long wait to be seen, she was knowledgeable and open to questions and ideas from me as the patient as well. She always covers whatever it is that is of concern and explains well whether or not you should be concerned and why.
This was my first appointment with Dr. Decotis, and I'll be back. She addressed all my concerns, we talked through my general health, I didn't feel rushed and was in and out of there in an hour.
She was very nice, took the time to answer questions and I didn't feel rushed.
Dr. Decotiis is friendly and professional. Never a long wait in her office!
Dr. De Cotiis is no nonsense, in the best sort of way. She listens and takes action to get to the root of your problem. Where other doctors have been rather blasé, she takes the reins.
Attentive and efficient. Have been a patient for over 10 years.
Great visit-- super easy.
She was recommended to me by my girlfriend. I now enjoy going to the dr.
I was recommended to Dr. Decotiis by a friend who has been a long time patient of hers. The staff is friendly and well mannered. As soon as you walk in you're greeted by the girls at the front desk and asked to sign in. The wait is not long at all. Maybe a few minutes tops (I've only visited the office in the AM - So you might have to wait a little longer later in the day). When it's your turn you're escorted to one of the exam rooms to wait for Dr. Decotiis. She is very friendly and warm. You can talk to her and not feel like you're being rushed. I highly recommend Dr Decotiis.
This was my first time as a patient with Dr. Decotiis and she was very thorough and helpful. She seemed very interested in my patient history and wanted work with me to make sure I was healthy. She referred me to a pharmacy which really works with patients which I appreciated. She spent a lot of time with me. I didn't love the pushing of vitamins or other tests, but I suppose they will be helpful.
Dr. Decotiis was very professional and really listened to what I was saying about how I was feeling. :)
The doctor spent more time with me than any doctor has in a while and addressed all my concerns in an educated and enthusiastic manner - highly recommend.
Waited nearly an hour for Dr. Decotiis. She was nice and listened to what I had to say. However, the appointment was very quick. The exam room was right between two chairs in the waiting room. Every time the doctor mentioned the "keyword" I was in there for she lowered her voice indicating other could hear out in the waiting room. The one thing I didn't care for was I was partially unclothed. When the Dr. entered the door went wide opened. Also, while I was in there partially clothed her staffed came in to grab, what appeared to be their lunch out of the refrigerator. Instead of getting it prior to me entering the room.
Her front office is horrible. I asked for a call from the Dr. to explain my issues with her staff and was told she doesn't make house calls?? Forget the terminology but to know a Dr. I have been going to for nearly ten years can't take a call from me is unacceptable. That was a week ago, no call. I've gotten emails to promote all her astronomically priced cosmetic and aesthetic services and even after replying to those no reply from the doc.
I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Decotiis because of my urgent need to see a primary doctor with an illness and she had the earliest availability on ZocDoc near my work. After waiting 30 minutes to see her, she was very dismissive and did not do any thorough examination even though I expressed my concern about my illness. I left the office feeling frustrated because I came in feeling uneasy about the illness and came out feeling the same way. And not to mention, the copay money that I wasted for seeing this doctor for a full 3 minutes.
Dr seems nice but I felt rushed in and out. Also the facilities are not top notch and one of the exam rooms is in between chairs of the waiting room so u can hear the entire patient / doctor conversation.
Seems intelligent, but always pushing her office's (overpriced) vitamins/remedies as a solution for every ailment -- so somewhat mistrust the recommendations
I liked that she had time to answer my questions and she will do a culture (came with UTI) to find out which bacteria are the cause and how to treat them best - really great - not many doctors do that.
Dr. Decotiis was engaged and patiently answered all of my questions.
The doctor has a very friendly personable assistant. Doctor was very attentive to what I had to say and she was very quick to diagnose the steps needed to start my treatment.
My appointment was at 9:30 and I wasn't brought into a room until 10:15. Dr. Decotiis is good once you get to see her, but her office staff leaves a lot of be desired. They aren't very organized or professional. One positive is the doctor's availability -- there are many openings in her schedule.
I might have seen her twice last year and I'm sure she was a pretty decent physician. However, I didn't like that she kept pushing her products on me. I am now in the market for a new physician preferably someone who is more concerned in giving patients proper treatments rather than selling vitamins.
Visit was great - she's fantastic!
The doctor is very nice. Unfortunately her staff was a mess. I got charged twice (no fight for the refund - they knew the mistake), had a terrible bruise from where my blood was drawn (never happens), and the office was kinda broke down. Felt kinda dirty but mostly just old. I went once and never went back.
Quick, professional, friendly. I had an 11:45 appointment and was back at work by 12:15.
She was very personal and patient with me. I felt very comfortable and confident in her care.
It was a no nonsense doctor's visit.
She was nice and professional, listened to my concerns and made me feel comfortable. She even speaks with me in French (I'm francophone). It was a great experience. Looking forward to my next visit.
Staff was very nice & helpful but the wait was terrible. I liked Dr. Decotiis and will continue to see her but will adjust my schedule to allow more time.
I like Dr. Decotiis but make sure she takes your insurance. My last appointment with her -- after many years of being her patient -- there was a switch and my insurance was not accepted. The office did not alert me to this fact and I got a huge bill. Not cool.
She was very nice and helpful.
She's very personable and listens well. I felt she asked pertinent questions and addressed my concerns quickly. She even arranged for me to see a consulting physician that day. Very happy indeed!
I like her manner and attention, just get the feeling that the other products in the office, such as weight management and line of beauty products is being pushed.
Dr. Dacotis listens to you very intently and doesnt brush off your concerns. She is a wonderful caring doctor. My male friend recommended her to me a few years ago and I am grateful for the recommendation. Dr. Dacotis is one of the best internists and family doctors I have ever seen.
Went in for a lingering cold. As my last visit she was calm, attentive and friendly. I had to wait a little while in the exam room for the Dr. but since I was 20 minutes late, this was probably my fault. (and no one complained about me being late). Love her!
I am so happy I found Dr. Decotiis! I have been in NY for over a year and have been looking for a good primary care physician (close to office, takes my insurance, clean office, etc) and she is everything and more. She saw me right away and took care of every concern/need I had diligently. Just a wonderful doctor!
She's thorough, and knowledgeable.
I went to the doctor because I was in a great deal of pain and asked if they could squeeze me in. The very rude nurse told me I would have to wait, and when I arrived, I basically had to beg to see the doctor after waiting for 20 minutes. I was having severe chest pains and wanted to make sure I didn't need to go to the hospital, and the doctor was in absolutely no rush to see me. She sent me to a cardiologist and tried to sell me fish oil instead of focusing on my symptoms! I plan to look for a new internist immediately.
I love Dr. Decotiis. It is always nice to see her and she is very helpful and knowledgeable.
Sue was nice, enjoyed my interaction with her. I have to say I find the receptionists at this place to be quite rude/indifferent. Experience would improve greatly if they were more competent/friendly/welcoming.
She was very friendly and helpful.
Provided me with thoughtful and considerate feedback.
I've been going to Dr. Decotiis for 3 years. Pleased with her service and advice.
Visit was quick, efficient and thorough.
Everything was very smooth. I showed up about 15 minutes early so that my new patient paperwork was done by my appointment time. The receptionists were friendly and effecient. I had to wait about 25 minutes before Dr.Decotiis came in the exam room, but that might have been due to waiting for Urine test results. I found her calming and easy to talk to. I went in for an infection but will be booking a physical soon. Great experience.
Love the office, love the people.
Dr. Decotiis was very perceptive and detected a heart murmur that no one else has discovered for the past 30 years. She was also warm and caring and took the time to discuss any concerns I had.
Dr is always straight to the point.
She was very thorough and I felt like she listened to my concerns.
The doctor made me feel very comfortable and she asked detailed questions concerning my medical history. I would most definitely see her again in the future.
She's a great Doctor, and very experienced. I've recommended her to all my coworkers, and friends.
Dr. Decoitiis is awesome! very thorough and extremely kind
I felt like she was rather pushy. I know she had the best intention, but there were some facts that she brought up that were a contrary to what other doctors had informed me of previously.
Dr Decotiis is very knowledgeable and friendly. The overall experience was fantastic! I highly recommend her.
She's slightly odd but totally nice.
I'm sure she knows her stuff, but somehow her bedside manner did not put me at ease.
Dr. Decotiis is great - she is one of those rare doctors who is both kind and extremely thorough. I waited about 20 minutes but it was well worth it, and I had made the appointment online less than 24 hours beforehand. If you need a dermatologist, DEFINITELY schedule an appointment with Dr. Reich. She is wonderful as well. I highly recommend this practice.
Fast, easy & friendly!
I made an appointment to see the Dr. for an Annual Physical. The front desk booked me in as if I was sick. Anyway, the assistant used the time I had to wait for a new room to draw bllod and do some other preliminary work. Dr Decotiis was professional and listed to me and made some suggestions for my well being. Not a bad visit.
Doctor was very nice and personable - I would recommend her highly to others.
Dr. Decotiis is one a kind! She is so amazing and listens to everything you have to say and answers all of your questions.
Physical exam went well, and I enjoyed meeting with the doctor. One drawback - after I met with the nurse, I was told the doctor would be in to see me within a few minutes. However, it was over 45 minutes before she came into the examination room. I had to reschedule my first work appointment of the day (which I should have had more than enough time to make), and literally run to make my second appointment.
She did not show confidence and sent me to a different specialist for no reason.
I enjoyed my vist with Dr. Decotiis. She's been my doctor for quite a few years and find that she listens to your problems, makes great suggestions and seem to really care about your well-being. She's not the type of doctor who is in a hurry to prescribe something without examining you thoroughly. I used to dread going to the doctor, but no longer since I've been a patient of Dr. Decotiis'. The entire office atmosphere makes me feel welcome as soon as I walk through the door.
I almost can't believe I'm going to write this, but here you go. I've been a patient of Dr Decotiis since 1999. I would've recommended her to anyone, anyone! She has always listened to me, she was always fantastic. Her bedside manner never bothered me, in fact I always appreciated that she was fast paced and waste time. Never a complaint, never...until the past two years. I'm not sure what's changed or happened but now I feel all her office ultimately cares about is pushing weight loss remedies and other vitamins. She doesn't listen to me at all and she's just trying to get me to pay for ridiculously expensive injections to lose weight. Well, for starters, I'm not overweight. Did I put on pounds when I quit smoking? Yep, but I'm still in a healthy weight range even if a bit chubby. But she always mentions these damn shots. Here's the thing. I have a history with pulmonary embolism (good times, let me tell you) and after my own research with these injections I learned that you don't want to risk using hormones when you run the risk of blood clots. She knows this, she knows I survived multiple PEs, so WHY did she ever push this expensive, over a thousand dollar weight loss program on to me? I am sad to say that I am now back in the market for another primary care doctor. Meh.
Dr. Decotiis was great. There was no wait, I walked in we met right away. She was helpful and informative and did not beat around the bush. I would definitely recommend her to others!
Sue is very sweet. Very informative.
Excellent visit. Prompt, efficient, warm, caring.
Very sweet and listens to all your complaints without judgement. Very open and focused on finding out the root of any problem you are having. Office staff is proffesional.
I saw this doctor yesterday and loved her. I thought she was very thorough, I felt like she cared and I think she prescribed the right course of treatment because I am starting to feel better in less than 24 hours. I have been through a number of physicians in NYC having lived here most of my life and I am definitely going to make Dr. Decotiis my new primary care physician. Her staff was also extremely nice and accommodating. My apt. was at 3 and they saw me at 3 on the dot. I was literally in-and-out in less than 25 minutes. I HATE going to the doctor but this was an extremely pleasant experience that only could have been improved if I wasn't sick.
Ive been with Sue Decottis for a few years now - not only a great knowledgeable doctor but very understanding and easy to talk to. Suz
The address provided by zocdoc is incorrect. When I alerted the receptionists of this, they could careless (on the phone and in person). I had an appt. at 8:30 and was not seen until 9:20. Dr. Decotiis was great, friendly and professional however her staff need some work.
Very professional and quick.
I have never been more satisfied with a doctor in my life. I came to see her during a very difficult period of my life and her compassion and understanding meant more to me than I can say. She and her staff made me feel very comfortable and I never felt like I was being rushed out of the office. She was extremely willing to discuss all treatment options and addressed many of my concerns before I even had the opportunity to ask. I would strongly recommend her to anyone.
This is my second visit, and I found the bedside manner to be cold and un-informative both times. I had to specifically ask "what's wrong with me" before I knew what was going on. She seemed in a hurry and disinterested in making sure I felt informed.
Was great!!would recommend her to anyone!!! Great experience and no wait time in which I loved because of my busy schedule
the doctor is fine but her staff's record keeping (medical AND billing) needs some serious work.
Dr Decotiis answered all my questions and never made me feel rushed. I barely wait in the office and the reception staff is very nice.
I had a great experience with Dr. Decotiis. She was punctual, listened to my problem, and had a great bedside manner. Her office staff was also very professional and pleasant, which I think is unusual for doctor's offices. I would highly recommend Dr. Decotiis to others.
Dr. Decotiis is fantastic! I would recommend her to everyone looking for an honest, comforting and down to earth physician. She addressed all of my issues and I left the office feeling better about myself than I have in a while. Additionally, the staff was excellent; very helpful and caring!
I was a half an hour to my appointment and was still seen in a timely manner. The front desk staff helped me figure out my new insurance and were very friendly. The RN was personable and very considerate. Dr. Decotiis was very generous with her time, giving me a full physical and listened to my complete medical history and concerns. It was a great experience.
She got the job done, just not a lot of extra bedside manner. I was in the waiting room longer than my visit with the doctor and nurse combined.
Sue was not only prompt, but she also took the time to answer all of my questions and provide personal tips to improve my overall health.
I had my first appointment with Dr. Decotiis yesterday (7.29.09), and I thought she was excellent. She asked questions, listened to what I had to say, and made me feel extremely comfortable.
The office and equipments are a bit old. Reviews said she was friendly but I found her to be rushing me a bit. But she scheduled an exam for my health concern which no doctor has done before.
Loved this doctor!!! Will definately see here again!
I had an 8:30 AM appointment and still waited an hour before seeing the doctor. She seemed knowledgeable and prescribed a z-pack for throat and ear problems and said we needed to "keep an eye on the fluid in my ears". After the z-pack I still have pain so I guess I have to go back. Would be nice if she could refer me to an ENT on the phone, but evidently she doesn't talk to patients on the phone.
Doctor was fine professionally but not very personal. Get the sense that you are a "number" during her day. Office staff was unbelievably unprofessional-impatient and rude and lacking professional demeanor with patients in the office.
She was so helpful and very nice.
She was very knowledgeable comforting and nice.
I went in for a physical. The nurse (who was really nice and patient) saw me almost immediately, but I waited a little while for the doctor herself. Once I did see her, the procedure seemed to go pretty efficiently. She's super-friendly and took my health complaints seriously, offering realistic advice and getting me scheduled for follow-up procedures right away.
No crowds or waiting, overall a very pleasant experience.
