I chose Dr. Otero because she seemed like a great choice for my breast reduction surgery. She was very attentive, answered all of my questions, and I completely trust that she would have done a great job. However, her office staffare TERRIBLE. I started calling to get updates on my preauthorization two weeks after my initial appointment (as Dr. Otero told me too), and kept getting sent to different offices and staff members. The woman in charge of preauthorizations never answers the phone, so a month after my consultation I called my primary insurance to see if they received anything. The office had never even sent in any paperwork!!!! My insurance representative also called the office and no one called him back, either. They took the pictures they needed and everything the day of the initial appointment, so I have no idea where anything ended up. I finally called a different plastic surgeon and made an appointment for another consultation because I got tired of waiting. I would recommend the surgeon and feel bad for giving her a bad rating because it has nothing to do with her, but she needs to find new staff!

First visit, but great 1st impression. Explained everything in detail, answered all my questions. Even came back in after I remembered another question. Hope to see her again.

I liked Dr. Otero a lot when I saw her for my breast reduction consultation, however none of that seems to matter because I CAN NOT get through to her office. I have left several voicemails for one of her administrativestaff members who is supposedly in charge of updates to insurance authorization processes and who does not pick up her phone, and I have received no returned calls. And every time I remain on the line to speak with someone in the office about "other non-clinical questions," which seems like the only option left to me, I get an automated message that says that the office is closed and to please call back during normal business hours - and then proceeds to list hours that I have been calling during. I was very hopeful during my first visit and Dr. Otero agreed that it would be a good idea to try to schedule a breast reduction, and then an assistant came and took photos of my chest for the insurance package, and now I haven't heard anything or been able to speak with anyone. Now, I just feel violated - which is not what I want to feel when working with a doctor. I am so unhappy. I will be seeking help elsewhere. Don't waste your time here.

The doctor was fine but I cannot reach her office to schedule a procedure or make a follow-up. The voicemail menu leads down a dead end to what seems like a personal voicemail of someone's phone. Email would be preferred! Howcan I contact Doctor Otero? Also, I filled out all the zocdoc forms in advance but when i arrived at the office they asked me to fill them all out again by hand because the system didn't work. They gave me a $5 Amazon coupon to compensate, but this really doesn't cover my 30 minutes of time.

I was very pleased overall with my visit and with Dr. Otero. I really appreciated her forthrightness and honesty. She appeared to me to have a lot of integrity. I can see why she's received mostly five stars in her onlineratings! Her assistant was also quite excellent, very attentive and helpful in answering my questions. Great staff!
