Dr. Johnson is awesome. Very personable and down to earth. He takes his time to listen and evaluate. His hours are also pretty flexible and offers to see you after the usual 9-5 hours. Highly recommend!

I really wasn't to impressed mostly because he would not give me any of my prescriptions. I have had quite a few medical issues this past year breast cancer, thyroid cancer, blood clots and more. Anyhow some of the specialists Ihad seen told me that I could and should be getting the medications they prescribed from my primary care doctor but Dr.Johnson would not give me any of those prescriptions. He told me he to go and get them from whatever specialist previously wrote them and the prescriptions I needed were NOT narcotics so I really didn't understand why he couldn't give them to me.

Very average. None of my concerns have been resolved. I don't think I'll go to see him again.

The care I received from Dr. Johnson last night was appalling. First, let me begin by saying that the medical issues that I was asking Dr. Johnson about were issues that I have had since my early teens (I'm currently inmy early twenties). I have also been very very nervous about seeing a primary care physician as I hadn't needed to have one in years due to my previous medical insurance not requiring a PCP. I was hopeful early in the visit as I got into the actual office fairly quickly, and the lady who checked my blood pressure and stuff was super great. The good service basically ended there. Dr. Johnson came in shook my hand and then basically throughout the appointment let me know that he hated his life. Ex: Dr.: What did you do this weekend? Me: We pretty much cleaned all weekend. You? Dr.: Cleaned what like your restaurant? (Which like why would you assume that?) This weekend was my wife's birthday. Me: Oh fun. Dr.: Yeah, not really. (later in the visit) Dr.: (mentions he has small kids I can't remember why). Me: That's so cute. They're still babies. Dr.: Yeah I have to remind myself of that they're just tiresome. (Even late in the visit) Dr.: So, looks like your planning to stay in Boston a while. Me: Yeah I've grown to like it. Dr.: That makes one of us. So, generally a miserable time. He didn't ask me any intake questions that I had expected. No family history. No domestic violence screening. No questions about my sexual activity. (He did ask me about my medications and if I smoke, drank or did drugs). So, here's the worst part. Remember, how I told you that a majority of the stuff I was concerned about had been brewing for basically ten years? It had also been brewing for the past 100lbs that I gained (which probably did exacerbate them). Though, he spent the rest of the time he wasn't being miserable telling me that my issues in mental health, periods that had always been irregular and feet that had been flat since I was a baby was because I was fat. The icing on the cake was that I had to remind him to order and A1C test for me (which if you're worried about me being fat you should worry about my diabetes). I also at the end of the visit didn't get any idea of a treatment plan. So, not only was he like "you're just fat," he didn't think of giving me a referral to anyone that would help manage my weight like I don't know a nutritionist? I ended up asking him for a nutritionist referral and the A1c test that I was told to come back the next day for because the labs at A HUGE HOSPITAL were for some reason closed. Anyway, I'm never going back to him ever again, or really to BMC ever again. Especially because I did not receive the "exceptiona care" that their tag line promised.

Dr. Johnson was great, I was able to be taken in almost right away and my appointment started right on time. Dr. Johnson was personable and approachable. Great bedside manners and deliberate but friendly questions about my health and history.Didn't push medical tests that I didn't feel were necessary and informed me about his concerns without being confrontational. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a new PCP.

Dr. Johnson was very pleasant. Even tho my apt was so late he did not seem in a hurry to get me thru my apt and made me feel like he cares to find out about me as a new patient. It was a good experience
