Patient reviews for Dr. Thomas Hoang
Very nice people!
Excellent. Very smart and caring
Dr. Hoang was great. I have been to three other neurologists in the past and he was the first one I trusted to correctly diagnose my symptoms and give me good recommendations. The actions he suggested were very thorough, and the whole time he had a very reassuring manner, willing to listen to anything I wanted to add or answer any questions I had. I left feeling much less anxious and like I had a plan in place for the future.
Great doctor.
I’ve never met a more indifferent doctor in my life. MRI came back with an abnormality, and instead of talking about options or reasons to not worry, he premature provided a diagnosis ranging from scar tissue to MS. Follow up questions were met with a literal shrug. I ended up walking out of my last appointment where I spoke with the doctor for 30 seconds about a medication reaction that he couldn’t have cared less about, and was still billed. I’ve switched ALL care away from this office.
Great doctor, attentive but straight to the point.
not personal NEVER looked away from computer
He was very kind and asked all the questions to find out exactly what is happening, he did exams and waiting for the results! So glad I came. The staff are kind
The receptionist booked my appointment wrong. It affected my new job- they acted like I was ridiculous for getting upset. Dr. Hoang had to have me convince him I had a neurological problem, insisting I’m just flat footed. I received a call back on March 20th about my results, calling back about five times (and emailing) to get my results. I have been totally ignored. Today I booked an appt and they called saying it was no longer available and that the doctor could maybe call me back in 24 hours with results. I’m flabbergasted at the lack of care and professionalism, especially as the receiptonist today told me I was “rude” for demanding my results. Now I have to go into the office and I won’t leave until they give them to me.
I should have gone with my gut feeling. This doctor was not very relatable and didn’t seem to fully explain the exams. You want a doctor that really cares for each individual patients concerns. He will simply hand you a print out that you can get online about migraines and when your exams reviews arrive he will simply hand it to you as a print out. Waste of the little 5 minutes or less that he gives his patients. My exams had arrived early but they won’t contact you. You literally have to be on top of them to get the information you are requesting. I would get a second opinion elsewhere. Wouldn’t recommend.
He was unfriendly, rude and detached and didn’t seem to care at all about the patient. Barely looked at the patient from behind his computer. Overall a very disappointing visit. Will never go back!
I am very happy my MRI results came out fine and that this time Dr. Hoang at least remembered me and gave me more of his time and energy than other times I have seen him. I just wish he was a little nicer and didn’t make rude comments or sigh and clench his teeth when dealing with his patients.
Dr. Hoang was very professional and listened to my concerns with care. He was quick to suggest two tests that I needed and an MRI to rule anything out. The check in process was swift and the receptionist (wish I knew her name) was incredibly sweet to me even though I came to her multiple times for different questions. The technician was very nice as well, and the office is very clean. Only recommendation to the office - add a hook to the bathroom door. =)
He was attentive and gave me several resources to help me with my pain needs.
Practically no wait. Doctor saw me right away and answered all of my questions. Would recommend!
Very good and professional
Dr never followed up with me with the results of my tests. Also he has an unusual bedside manner in which he appears to be detached and unfriendly.
The office was so nice, the staff wonderful, no wait time- great experience!
Always a helpful doctor.
Seemed really disinterested in the reviewing my symptoms during my initial conversation with him. He came around later to seem a bit more concerned, but between the front desk and the inability of them to follow up with my insurance company to fulfill my prescriptions.
The office was great, the staff is excellent and Thomas Hoang is wonderful! I'm glad I found him!
Terrible doctor, terrible experience. As other reviewers have also pointed out, Hoang does not explain the reasoning for his diagnosis or suggested treatments. I went to see the doctor after having had a concussion and experiencing dizziness and nausea following the injury. Hoang didn't really listen to my explanation of my symptoms. He was completely insulting and dismissive of everything I said, then told me I would be fine. I had such a terrible experience I switched to a different neurologist. This other (competent) doctor was 100x more helpful, professional and empathetic. Stay away.
The office was clean and accessible. Receptionist was friendly. Doctor was nice but didn’t explain condition thoroughly.
The office was easy to locate and navigate. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the paper work took quite some time to complete, it would of been a lot more convenient if it was sent prior to fill out. My appointment was also at 10am but I did not see Dr. Hoang until 10:45am and I had arrived at the office at 9:30am. I had finished filling out my paperwork long before 10:45am by the way. Once I saw Dr. Hoang, it was a very quick consultation discussion with him with no testing whatsoever; he told me I'd have to come back for testing which was extremely frustrating to hear especially since I was already seeing him late and thought that some initial testing would be done that day. He was also not super personable and a bit soft spoken making it hard to hear and having to ask him to repeat hisself. Luckily the wonderful women that were at the front desk were there because they were able to get me set up fro 2/3 initial test same day and addressed some of my more tactical questions. The technician was nice but could of provided more context about each test being done, what they would entail, and how long they would take. There was no context of what was about to be done or be prepped to be asked to do which was also a bit frustrating. All in all there could be some more bedside manner with this team but it wasn't the worst experience I've had a doctors office. I'd also recommend that if you visit this office when it is cold out to bundle up as the office does not have heat (or at least not on this day) and it was extremely cold. Dr. Hoang's office was warm but the testing areas and waiting room were very cold.
Really professional. Cut straight to the point. He’ll know exactly what tests you should have and what it most likely may be. As for the staff, its pretty bad. THE FRONT OFFICE IS WHAT DOES THE PRE AUTHORIZATION. If they make YOU call YOUR insurance, they arent doing their job and are being lazy. it shouldnt take more than at the most, 3-6 days at most for a pre authorization. Faster if you have something that needs to be tested ASAP.
His support staff was awesome, even though they had scheduled the wrong date for my appointment. The fact that I had several tests there helped alot.
Dr. Hoang was good; unfortunately his office is extremely disorganized. The admin staff showed up 30 minutes after my appointment time, so the doctor and I were both just sitting there. I was asked to wait for a tech who just did not show up to work (I was informed after waiting for 40 minutes). My next appointment was cancelled last minute when the office suddenly closed. This was all extremely unprofessional and despite liking the physician, I'll never go back.
Great doctor!
Totally unprofessional medical practice. Showed up for my appointment (last one of the day) and someone on the staff had canceled it without my knowledge and without any notice. So the doctor wasn't even there. Also, the office was under "renovation". The building was sketchy as was the "waiting room". Avoid.
He told me what I needed to know. Cut straight to the chase and gave me no run arounds. I also got there early and was called in right away.
Hola appreciate Dr Hoang’s professionalism- he has always taken adequate time with me and shown interest in my view points. The only criticism I have is about the office itself.... no fax info on web and email address isn’t on business cards ...which makes it a bit tough to follow up and provide other practitioners contact info. that said the front desk staff are lovely and happy to accommodate.
I was diagnosed with a brian aneurysm and this doctor gave me barely any information, told me "not to worry about it" and was annoyed to answer my questions and tried to rush me through appointments and phone call. Stay away!!
Dr Thomas was a good listener and asked question related to my health issues.
I felt like the doctor was knowledgable and professional but definitely a little dismissive. I have been feeling severe symptoms lately and incredible fatigue that makes it hard to function (They are not life-treating but they feel that way). Even described how my arm goes completely weak and numb and he described it as simply as 'tingling'. Payed an arm and a leg for his time, but felt like I was an inconvenience to him. He seemed in a huge rush to get me out.
Great doctor
Great doc
Nice staff. Crowded waiting room.
He’s very thorough. He explained as he went. He was patient. The wait was not long. Signed in waited had the consultation and took a 40-45 minute EEG and was back in my car in less than 2 hours.
This doctor is super weird...didn't seem particularly interested in what I was telling him, and he talks in what essentially amounts to a whisper. The office is very old and the girls at the front were complaining about other patients in earshot of those waiting. But the girls at the front were nice, so I'll give them that. The doctor didn't say anything helpful or give me any idea of what might be causing my symptoms.
Dr Thomas was very good, waiting time wasn't long.
The doctor here is just ok but his staff are the worst people that I have met in my life. Calling and making an appointment is near impossible as the staff hangs up on you nine times out of ten. They even admit to not doing their jobs. When I called to make sure that they were submitting the necessary pre-authorizations for my MRI, the woman I spoke to admitted that she didn't feel like it, so I pretty much had to call the insurance myself and pretend to be from the doctors office, all so that I can get the necessary medical treatment I need. It has gotten to the point where I stopped trying to make appointments here, yet I am still suffering as every time I call to cancel my appointment the staff hangs up on me.
Excellent doctor. He is a professional. doctor. I recommend him. I will be there on 11/29/2017 with my MRI report.
Awful. Felt very rushed and like he didn’t care about the patient or the problem. Didn’t care to listen to what was going on with the problem and was very condescending. Front desk staff awful! Took over an hour for them to finish my paperwork because they were all texting and chatting with each other. Then took another half hour for the doctor to see me. Would not recommend!!
He is professional and knowledgeable person. I recommend him.
He seemed very rush, I wanted to talk to him about how I was doing with the medicine he prescribed but he rushed me off saying that we would discuss it during my follow up in two weeks.
I have suffered from migraines for over 10 years and have tried a variety of treatments. I went in to see Dr. Hoang on Day 4 of a very bad migraine. My blood pressure was elevated (it's normally perfect), and the nurse explained that this was probably because of the length and intensity of the migraine I had been experiencing. Dr. Hoang and his team listened to my symptoms and history and provided prompt, same-day treatment (they offer IV treatment for migraines in the office, which is normally only available in the emergency room), as well as going over a short-term and long-term plan for recovery. I would definitely recommend this office for anyone seeking treatment for migraines.
He was a professional. He took the time to find out my history what med I'm on. And the history of my system and what I was doing to help it or not. I felt very comfortable with him and his staff.
Didnt actually see thomas hanng but doctor i saw in his place took good care of me
Dr. was great, listened to my migraine issues and suggested various ways to deal with it.
If you are looking for a compassionate doctor who can see you as a human being and not just another name on a page, then go elsewhere. After meeting with Dr. Hoang today I feel even more discouraged and upset about my medical situation than ever. He was very uniterested in anything that we had to say and he felt the need to correct us on medical terminology...? He showed absolutly no concern and was very dismissive. When we brought up things that he clearly was not knowledgeable on, he disregarded them and deflected to a compeltly different topic.
