Dr Mashensky is a professional and caring doctor. Unfortunately the office staff is less so. Apart from the long waiting time (close to an hour over the appointment time) and the shabby interior (I was lucky to have a seat), it took several attempts of myself and the pharmacy at Walgreens to have my prescription phoned in.
Thorough; poignant questions; forthcoming regarding safe alternative solutions. Excellent Doctor.
She's an amazing doctor. She really cares about her patients. She is very smart and thorough. She makes you leave the office satisfied as she covers all bases. I highly recommend her!!
She and her staff were extremely competent and caring. The Dr. took her time to understand what was happening and was as accommodating as feasible. I strongly recommend.
Dr Mashensky is the best doctor I've ever seen
I love my Primary Doctor she is wonderful
Everything about this appointment was bad. I expected a much cleaner office, especially given the location, but there were hazmat containers open in the floor. It took me raising my voice a little to get the doctor to actually listen to what I was saying the issue was. Finally she prescribed me some medications, one of which requires a prior authorization. My pharmacy contacted them Friday and today about it. I've followed up twice and the admin refused to check the fax machine claiming they had a lot of patients today. But you aren't treating them! And the doctor can only physically see one person at a time so what's stopping you from performing the administrative tasks of your job. Completely dissatisfied and will be changing primary care doctors.
Amazing Doc, very concerned about her patients and easy to talk too. Would recommend foreverrrrrrr.
She was very calm
Very nice and soft spoken. Took her time, answer every question and her nurse was warm and friendly
Small practice, great doctor
Worst experience ever. I wish there is an option for me to select negative number of stars.
The best Doctor ever! I'm so happy I find one that cares and wants to help. She is amazing in every way!!! I definately recommend her!!!
Is always very informative and takes her time to explain everything that you need to know
I did a medical exam for immigration purposes. Exam went well, doctor explained me the procedure and fees, and provided a follow up in 2 days. Satisfied so far.
She took care of my needs (I needed a prescription) and had a nice bedside manner, however I was a little weirded out when she insisted that I take a skin allergy test. I have a feeling this is because she saw my insurance would cover it. Had nothing to do with what I came to see her for - I had just had a sniffly nose. Felt sketchy to me.
Dr. Mashensky is my go to doctor for everything! Very professional and a great listener. I highly recommend her.
worth waiting, she is caring and diligent. attention to detail, a great doc.
Make sure you check your bills. They charged me for an extra office visit and no apologies from Alex, the girl who works for Dr.Mashensky. I tried to explain to her that there was a mistake in my bill and I m getting charged extra. She was rude and really unprofessional. Horrible service. Never again
Although I did like the Doctor very much I felt that her office staff was very unprofessional.. I had an 11:30 appointment for which I was on time and at no time was I informed that the doctor was not in yet and was running late .. I only found out after overhearing another patient complain that she had an 11am appointment and was still waiting... I wasn't taken until close to 12:30 and then waited more in the examining room. The Doctor was pleasant and apologized and I found her to be very thorough and informative.. If the staff was up front and kept us abreast of the situation it would have made for more comfortable waiting and unnecessary angst and I could have made a decision based on the information..
The office is disgusting here. It's hot and smells like cigarettes. The doctor was nice enough, but not a pleasant experience at this office.
Dr.Mashensky is an excellent doctor,She knows her patients very well, very concerned doctor,She takes her time with you to get to the root of your illness.I will always refer patients to her.
Good service with short wait time
She's very helpful.
Dr. Mashensky was very nice, thorough, and informative. Staff was all very kind also.
I scheduled my appointment on ZocDoc and made it clear WHY I was going in today. I waited over an hour, the receptionist/assistant/whatever she was was incredibly rude- not just to me but to other people in the office who were also tired of waiting hours for their appointments- whenever people asked what was going on, she snapped at them and would say condescendingly "I understand, but you need to wait" as if that would make anyone feel better- she was definitely on a power trip. After an HOUR, I finally have my name called to find out the doctor can't perform the test I need because she'll be out for the next week and a half and in order to do the test, I have to be in the office for several days consecutively- something I SHOULD have been told wayyyyy before I ever stepped into her stupid waiting room. What a waste of time- and thanks to her and her staff, I can't get this test done today b/c it's too late to book an appointment anywhere else. While the doctor didn't seem like a bad person herself, her staff and office are incompetent and rude- I would NOT recommend going here and it was my first AND last time.
Dr. Mashensky was professional and compassionate. The examination was thorough and comfortable. Also, the RN or MA that drew my blood was incredible. I will be using Dr. Mashensky as my PCP from now on.
The doctor was very late as her child had an emergency. I understand that but she seemed very distracted. I felt like she had already made up her mind on what she would recommend before we even started talking. Ignored repeated information about past treatment and told me I needed to loose weight to be more focused and motivated...?? I don't see myself going back to this doctor. Fatigued, distracted and inconsiderate.
She's really pleasant and informative. I will definitely recommend her!
Short wait time!! Shes awesome!! She covers everything and answers all questions in which shows how knowledgeable she is!!
My visit was effective sonce I did not wait more than 15 minutes. Doctor Mashensly was very kind explaining everuthing clearly. Perspn at the registratiom desk was also good.
Front desk lady can barely understand English and very rude. Please stay away from this unprofessional place.
Great as always!!!GREAT DOC!!!!
There was a decent wait even though I had made an appointment. The staff had semi warm bedside manners (many were go but one was very cold). The doctor was good and made me feel comfortable. The staff are terrible at responding to phone calls and made me set up an additional appointment to get my test results. Plus they billed my own insurance. Not sure if I'll be retuning to this doctor.
She is very attentive and does a wonderful job of following up with me. I contracted mono and have had to visit several times. Her memory of me and the progression of my symptoms was actually something I haven't really had with any doctor that I have ever had to see on a recurring basis.
Had a great visit with Dr. Mashensky! She and her staff are both thorough and professional, and I feel well taken care of. Yes, there was a bit of a wait to be seen, but once I was in the office, Dr. Mashensky gave me her full attention. Rather than rushing me out like most internists, she carefully reviewed my chart, asked questions, and answered every question I had. The wait is worth it for that level of service, especially considering the convenient location. Recommended!
Dr. Mashensky was great but I waited an hour passed my scheduled time. Luckily my job is right around the corner but I would definitely schedule earlier and come in a bit later next time.
Love her, very caring, and she do wats in your best health interest.Very good doc.
My routine check-up turned out to be a very enjoyable experience! Dr. Mashensky is extremely nice and attentive, very knowledgeable and thorough. I'd highly recommend her to everyone!
Takes good care of her patients
Dr. Mashensky is the best! When I go to her office I tell her it's like one stop shopping. She is thorough & patience, makes sure all your needs are attended and I genuinely feel that she is concern with my well being. I highly recommend her services.
Very unpleasant experience. Would not recommend.
Waited an hour just to see dr. Dr got slightly judgmental about cannabis use and tried to prescribe me serotonin and gave shotty explanation for why. Just went for regular checkout and had couple basic questions, checkup was fine, she wouldn't address one question and referred me to another dr. I'm not mad, but it wasn't the greatest experience.
Wait time was terrible and disrespectful. Office looks run down. Find a different doctor. Don't waste your time!
I like this doctor a lot. However, the wait is too long. I got back to work 2 hours later. I waited well over an hour to be seen.
My wife and I have been visiting Dr.Mashensky for about two years now. We would highly recommend her for anyone who wants a doctor who isn't trying rush you out the door. I appreciate her thorough approach to solving your maladies. She is patient and approachable as is her staff. Note: I would visit her office early in the day, I usually have little to no wait when I go then.
Dr Mashensky was attentive, caring and seemed genuinely interested in understanding my health issues to best diagnose and treat my symptoms.
Very long wait for a very short visit with the doctor. They only take cash for co-pays which is frustrating in this day in age. When I said I didn't have enough cash, the PA said there are ATMs nearby, which would require me leaving the building and searching for one on 42nd St/Grand Central during rush hour. Not very accommodating. The office is also very cramped and is in desperate need of a renovation.
Wait time was not too long, but it was after my appointment time, so I was not seen exactly on time. Nurse was very nice. Made small talk and was professional. She talked me through what she was doing great and let me know when the doctor was ready to see me. Dr. Mashensky was very professional and seemed very knowledgeable. She was patient and thorough. I did not feel rushed. She suggested both vitamins and over the counter medicines to me in conjunction with Rx medications. I love options. I highly recommend her. FYI: The office building is 315 Madison Ave. I was looking for 50 east 42nd st and could not find it until I entered the 315 building, only to see that 50 e 42nd st address printed on the wall inside, above the security guard's head.
She is great! I had been looking for a caring doctor that would listen to all of my concerns with out feeling rushed. I was seeing her for the first time on a day that NYC was under blizzard warnings. I thought she would cancel and reschedule my appointment. Instead they moved my appointment up and were very accommodating. She took her time and listened to all of my concerns. She was very thorough, patient & knowledgeable. I was very please with both Dr. Mashensky as well as her nurse. ("Ida" sp?) Thank you both!
There was very little delay in seeing Dr Mashensky and I thought she was pleasant and thorough. Thanks!
I was happy with everything except the wait time. I waited for almost an hour.
Dr. Mashensky was very pleasant, professional, and confident in her work. The staff made me feel very comfortable. I believe my health is in good hands
Dr Mashensky asks direct questions and gets straight to her concerns. She's clearly interested in your health. She's very pleasant too.
I have never had such a bad experience at a doctor's office. The nurses and receptionist are RUDE and barely talk to you when you enter the office-there is absolutely no sense of welcoming from the second you walk in. The office is unkempt (waiting room, exam room) and the wait times are absurd! I had to wait over an hour for both of my appointments. Also, when I came for a follow up, they had failed to get my results from the radiologist so I had to wait additional time while getting attitude from all parties-the doctor included. The doctor didn't even bother to read my chart and had no idea I was still waiting on a second set of results when I came in for my follow up. Dr. Mashensky's bedside manner is mild, at best. She barely smiles and while she isn't rude, she isn't exactly warm either. I didn't feel comfortable at all. What really horrified me about this office was how messy it was. Even in the exam room, there were medical supplies, samples of medications and what appeared to be medical files lying around for anyone to take!!!! This is a serious privacy concern and I really hope the take care of it soon. Never coming here again.
The doctor was 90 minutes late for my appointment
Simply awesome caregivers!!!!
Dr. Mashensky was great, very gentle and helpful, I highly recommend her and would go back again...
Very nice doctor who listens to you and is very attentive to you .
It was easy and fast. Dr. Mashensky has a good understanding of her patients needs and does the right exams to be sure you are healthy.
She was terrifoc. I am glad she is my gp and helped me with her referrals,
45 min waiting time for nothing. Maybe it was not her day, or my day. There was a problem with the app as well but I didn't get any answer from the doctor even if I sent an email to double check before hand. In a nutshell, a waste of time for me.
Dr. Mashenskys entire team is unprofessional. I was forced to wait over an hour and was never told upfront how long of a wait time there was. I had to ask and when I did the assistant rolled her eyes like and hour wait was minimal. The other "assistant" put on gloves to draw blood for testing and answered her cell phone and opened a door with the gloves on, like it was no big deal! Had to ask her to change her gloves. Very unsanitary place with shady staff that make it all that much worse.
I scheduled an appointment through Zocdoc for 4:30pm, but they couldn't find the appointment, so they rescheduled me for 4:45pm, which was no problem. But I sat in the waiting room until 5:50, and when I was called in, they told me I had to change my PCP, so I had to go out and make a phone call, I just wished they had told me while I was sitting in the waiting room for an hour, watching other patients impatiently leaving. After I made the phone call I returned to the Dr. office, but was told to return to the waiting room by the nurse. I waited another 10-15 mins before I called by the nurse again.
I think she's nice but she can seem a bit cold.
Never again. I have seen this doctor twice now and each time I had to wait over an hour. It wasn't until I threatened to leave that I was somehow "squeezed in"! The office is filthy and cold and everyone that works there seems pissed to be there. The nurses seem really unprofessional (jeans not scrubs) and the doctor even answered her cell phone in the middle of an appointment with me! This plus the cash-only rule and overbilling to insurance seem really shady.... I won't be back.
I had a very pleasant and engaging appt with Dr. Mashensky as always, she is very caring, helpful and informative.
She is an excellent doctor, gives very good advice. And there is practically no wait time. She sees you right away.
Crappy office, but convenient location. She is thorough.
It was great. The staff was very friendly. She gave me helpful tips towards achieving better health.
Better than the first visit although I wish the staff was a bit more professional. There "Cash Only" rules and jeans always make me feel like I'm in for a shake down. But it's lose to my office so...
I really enjoyed the visit. She seems very compassionate and caring. She listened, took her time with me and I have a lot of medical problems, She answered my questions and suggested some things that I am going to follow. Great Dr. and I'd definately recommend. :-)
Dr. Mashensky was kind and seems very knowledgable. I was very pleased with the efficiency of the whole visit, yet I never felt rushed. She even noticed an eye problem I had forgotten about and recommended an eye center for me.
Very professional doctor, doctor answered all my questions and gave me good advice. also the girls on the front desk are very helpful. Going back in 2 weeks
Had two appointments so far , she's awesome and won't baby you into getting better , great quality and very nice.
She is the best one
She is very direct and straightforward.
I'm new to the city and was looking for a new doctor here. I came across Larisa on Zoc Doc. Larisa is a nice doctor. Very chilled, laid back. Maybe it was just me, but she was a little too chilled for my liking. You know some doctors when you visit them, they seem overly enthused to help you solve your problems...not Larisa. Lol! She wasn't mean at all, just not excited. The staff was nice. It was very busy the day I went to my first appointment so I had to wait around 30 mins. On my follow up appointment I was seen right away. I would go back to her for now, but I'm still looking for that right doctor for me.
She was good. I didn’t know what was wrong with me, and the doctor didn’t stop looking until it was figured out.
Dr. Mashensky is very thorough and keeps good track of my health issues. She makes me take better care of myself and makes sure I understand what steps I need to take. I've always had a good experience with her, but her office does tend to run behind schedule, especially toward the end of the day. I go to the Manhattan office, and they prefer you pay co-pays in cash, so be prepared. Also, bring some hand sanitizer, because the 2nd floor bathrooms in 240 Madison almost never have soap.
Very good doctor! I would definately reccomend her!
The doctor did her job thoroughly and professionally and very open and straight forward when communicating with her patient like myself. My own observation is that there tends to be an over-booking of appointment as the last visit I had yesterday, my daughters and I have to wait for more than one hour before we were called in.
Dr. Mashensky was great, a little cold at first, but warmed up quickly. The issue I had was that the office was not well organized. The phones rang consistently, without people picking them up, the files seemed to be lying around haphazardly and several times during my consultation with Dr. Mashensky we were interrupted by her staff members. I don't mind Russian at all, but it felt awkward when they were speaking it in front of me as I sat there thinly veiled and half dressed on a cold examination table. Finally, when it was time to pay my co-pay they told me the amount and then quickly asked for cash. I said that I didn't have any and they seemed very disappointed/annoyed. I probably wouldn't go back.
I never waited in line for more than 2 minutes. Dr. Larisa is easy to deal with, very helpful and spends much time explaining everything to her patients in details. Highly recommend her as a Primary Care Doctor!
Hard Russian accent but get person and seemed to care.
I was unimpressed with the office etiquette at Dr. Mashensky's practice. While Dr. Mashensky, herself, was helpful, thorough and personable, her office was disorganized. Waits were consistently up to or over an hour, including when I stopped in for what should've been a quick trip to obtain my blood test results. I struggled repeatedly with the office to have them fill out an insurance auth form for my asthma medication and ultimately had to get the medication without insurance because I couldn't wait any longer, costing a lot of money. I called several times during that debacle to find the phone line disconnected and my calls were not promptly/ever returned. I also went for one apt during the winter and found that the office did not have heat that day. I will not be returning to this doctor.
Doctor Mashensky provided excellent service, though I have mixed feelings about my experience in her office. The office itself felt a little messy, and I was concerned by small things; like when I was left alone in an exam room with an unlocked computer- or when the nurse called the office of a radiologist (whom I had never seen) to get my records. It made me concerned that my data in the office wasn't being handled properly. Also, the office didn't have a bathroom, so I had to leave the office and take the elevator to another floor to give a urine sample, then carry the sample back to the office with me. It was a little awkward. Once Dr Mashensky entered the room, I felt much better about the visit, because she stood out as exceptionally attentive and intelligent. Also the nurse who drew blood was exceptionally gentle, I didn't feel a thing.
Dr Mashensky was very open to questions and wanted to be sure I understood everything she was doing, every medicine she prescribed and why she was making certain decisions.
I arrived an hour before my scheduled appointment. I figured I would have to wait until my appt time but was actually taken to the room in less than 5 minutes! The nurse was so friendly and nice. I didn't wait long in the room before the dr came in. She took time to listen to all my concerns and implemented meds to help me. I highly recommend this dr.
She is just great!
She listens to concerns and she is proactive.
Great doctor, extremely caring. Only negative was the wait time.
As other reviewers have mentioned, she's very straight-forward and to the point which some people might like but I found it to a point to be incredibly rude. I took off work for the appointment and waited 30-45 minutes (to a point where I was about to walk out and reschedule) and she comes in, does not appologize at all (actually continues to take her time), and did not seem sensitive to my concerns at all. At times I felt like she was treating me like I was dumb. Sorry that I'm not in the medical profession. I will never go back and don't recommend her to others either.
She was polite, very thorough and really reviewed my family and health history. She didn't rush me out of the office but took time the time to address my concerns. Great doc!
I feel that Dr. Mashensky was a great listener, empathetic to my condition and provided me with practical recommendations and guidance. She has a very good bedside manner and wasvextremely professional, along with her staff.
AWFUL! 1. The office was very dirty. I did not see one sink in the whole office which is making me question if the doctor and her nurses are going from patient to patient without washing their hands. 2. The bathroom was outside of the office, so I had to walk down the hall and use a communal bathroom. 3. They took 3 viles of blood but in the bag they would send to the lab, I only saw 2. 4. They gave me a hard time about not having any cash for my copay but eventually let me use my debit card. 5. The 'nurses' were all in casual clothes and did not introduce themselves. 6. I went for a routine physcial and they did not take my height or weight. 7. They have a box of used syringes and needles on the floor where I could put my hand in and take one out. Awful experience. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone!
I saw Dr. Mashensky for about a year before looking for another doctor. She's friendly enough but wasn't very thorough in the exam room and her bedside manner could use some improving. Her assistant is a bit cold and the office itself is outdated and cramped with patients files and exam equipment everywhere. I also never appreciated knowing the doctor was well-aware that I was waiting for her and yet she would carry on lengthy conversations with her assistant in the other room.
First of all, I found very professional people work in this office! For those, who want that "Right Away!" -Don't rush, Doctor's office isn't stock market and You aren't a dealer there.
I have been to several doctors but I have never met such a kind, compassionate and knowledgeable doctor like Dr. Mashensky. Her staff is helpful and efficient. I wish I had known about her sooner. Good luck and stay healthy~
Very good !
Dr Mashensky is always very pleasant to deal with and extremely thorough
It was good she took her time explain the steps to take to better my health.
The wait was too long -- 25 minutes -- and the office was not welcoming and unhelpful. After service they told me they could only accept cash for my insurance co-pay but finally agreed to take a credit card because I did not have cash. They are near my office but I would not visit here again.
Generally packed office, so might have to wait a bit. But she is a good doctor, nice and friendly. Gets the job done.
It was great very informative. I am an active participant of my treatment
It was great. She wasn't quick to prescribe medicine and took a lot of time asking me questions and actually listening and asking follow up questions based on my answers. Two things to note is that its CASH ONLY and the building is actually 315 Madison and not 50E but it IS on 42nd and Madison
She is fairly pleasant but does not actually listen to patient needs, very dismissive at times. I feel as though she is more concerned with accruing appointments than actually helping anyone. Also, the wait time is kind of ridiculous and doctor is constantly late.
Always a ridiculous wait. Just got a completely unexpected bill. Will never return.
She is an excellent doctor. I would certainly recommend her to anyone I know.
Firstly, I'd like to say the doctor is a very nice lady, and I appreciated how she conducted herself on my appointment, staff was friendly and personable too. However, I didn't like three very important things. #1 This office uses ZocDoc CheckIn feature, but when I went they still wanted me to fill out forms even after I told them I checked in on ZocDoc. I don't know if they didn't know how to get it, or they just didn't want to, but it's only after I realized that I forgot my insurance cards that the receptionist attempted to retrieve the info I already filled out. Could've just saved me the time and hassle in the first place. #2 The office is very small and dirty, reminds me of a cheap, free clinic back in my country (and that's bad). I don't know if I really care for the environment, I mean it is a doctor's office after all. #3 I don't like the fact that they take my weight in the reception area, a little tacky to me. Other than that it was fine I guess, could probably find better though
Dr was very knowledgable but the wait time was horrible.. I waited one hr and has to ask the nurse and beg because i have a fever and burning up To be Seened.
Shockingly unprofessional. This was a horrible environment, cramped conditions, unhelpful assistants, tardy doctors, constant interruptions during examination, mis-diagnosed, failed to perform tests that were ordered, cash only- this place is a mess from beginning to end.
my physical was extremely thorough. I truly felt that the staff there wanted to make sure that I was comfortable and healthy. while the number of tests they completed might have been more than I'm used to in a normal physical, in hindsight, I'm grateful that they went the extra mile
Dr. Mashensky is a fantastic doctor. She is very knowledgeable.
She was excellent and very thorough.
She is very knowledgeable and caring, just wish my 430 apt didn't start at 530.
Dr Mashensky took the time to listen to my concerns and made recommendations. This is a doctors visit, not a factory. Dr. Mashensky treats her patients with respect, old-fashioned, non-New York way. She and her Assistants are knowledgeable, professional, caring and efficient. This doctor is now my primary physician.
She was great! Very professional and not too long of a wait.
She was friendly and genuinely seemed to care. I felt comfortable as a new patient.
Very professional in addition to the staff. I only waited 2 minites till I was seen by the Dr. I also find the clinic very clean and quiet. Firas Masri
She was very attentive and listened to everything I said. Even told me other things I could do to help my pain.
She was lovely, but the wait time was ridiculous. We're all busy people with jobs. Why bother making a 1:00 appointment if you don't see me until 2:15?
Waited forever (half the time in a dirty waiting room, half in a dirty examination room). Saw the doctor walk in close to an hour after my scheduled appointment time with arms full of shopping bags. The doctor was dressed like a sloppy teeny bopper that just left the mall - tacky sparkely clothes, glitter all over her face, and no lab coat. Everyone working there spoke with a thick Russian accent which was difficult for me to understand. The appointment itself was fine, I got what I needed, but when I went to pay they told me that they would prefer cash only - which is always a huge red flag of a shady establishment. Since my appointment I have been trying to have them fax me an itemized receipt for my FSA account, which they don't seem to understand and are being extremely difficult about. Don't think I'll be going back there. Oh- they also had me give them my social security number, which I don't recall doing at other doctors appointments. First I didn't think much of it but after the no credit card thing it has me suspicious.
Dr. Mashensky is very thorough and keeps an eye on the time for sure. She errs on the side of requiring many tests, which made me a little uncomfortable especially for a general check-up, and has been wont to checking an occasional text or taking a cell phone call during consultations, unfortunately. However, she is knowledgeable, direct, and helpful. I would recommend releasing old records and bringing previous relevant test results with you just in case to save on time.
Dr. Larisa was very straightforward and to-the-point. She understood my fear of doctors and didn't give me a hard time for not coming in for several years. She asked direct questions, but wasn't overbearing or coddling. She did answer her cell phone while taking my blood, which I thought was odd, but overall I liked her and appreciated that she took time to answer my questions.
Dr. Mashensky has a lovely bedside manner, asks good questions to try and figure out what is ailing you and what appropriate medicine is to prescribe. The outer waiting area is a bit cluttered, worn down and low-tech. However, she is an easy to book appointment and the doctor, herself, is wonderful.
Dr. Mashensky was very nice, but the whole process leading up to my actual visit with her was not pleasant. The staff was very curt and the office left much to be desired. When I finally made it into the exam room, it was ancient and extremely sloppy. Confidential patient files and paperwork were splayed everywhere. I spent a good 20 minutes in the exam room before anyone came in, but the whole time I heard the doctor standing out in the hall speaking on the phone with a patient's family member disclosing more information than HIPPA would have liked me to overhear.. Overall client confidentiality did not seem to be a factor here. The doctor herself was very nice and was able to diagnose me quickly and perscribed me medication that actually had me feeling a million times better in only two days. Probably the most frustrating part of this process was the bill payment. When my bill finally arrived several months later I tried calling in to the number on the invoice. Apparently they outsource their billing so to pay by credit card I had to call 2 different offices over a span of 2 weeks. Every time I called the main office, I was asked to call back at a different time which was extremely inconvenient given my work schedule. It really is a shame because given a better staff, a cleaner office and a smoother billing process I would probably return to Dr. Mashensky.
She was running way behind, but was so thorough! I was impatient due to pain, but once seen very pleased with the outcome. She was very concerned about my total health, not just the reason for the visit.
The overall experience was good.
Very to the point, but also very thorough. Will definitely go again.
Not bad, was quick and they took me last minute. Attentive and took care of what I needed. Bedside manner just wasn't very comforting or welcoming.
She was compassionate, and genuine in a way that I felt I can trust in professional opinion and was very pleased.
Dr. Mashensky was very thorough. She and her staff really went above and beyond - not only in my physical but also offering additional customer services unique to me that were very kind. Her bedside manner is very straightforward and she does not sugar coat anything.
Just an all around great doctor, listened and took care of what I needed while making sure everything was right with medications and expressing her concerns in a thoughtful manner. Found her great and this is a primary care I am sticking with. Definitely recommend her!
She was great,I felt comfortable and she listened to my problems and gave many suggestions, she wasn't rushing and took her time. Enjoyed her!
Awesome. Will see her again.
Dr. Larisa made me feel completely comfortable and at ease, she asked questions without prying and made me feel important and cared for. I will gladly go back to Dr. Larisa and work with her as my primary care physician.
Dr. Mashensky is amazing. Her bedside manner is perfect. She is kind, caring, and always asking questions to make sure I am healthy and when I am not feeling well, she always knows the solution.
My appointment was scheduled for 12:45...after waiting for 40 minutes, I went up the reception desk and asked if I was going to be seen anytime soon. The girl at the desk said "I can take you now" So if I hadn't said anything was she going to make me wait even longer??? Once she took me into the room, which looked like her office with a bed in it, I had to wait another 10 minutes in there. I'm not joking when I say I read about 100 pages in the book that I brought. All I needed was to get a new prescription and it took like 5 minutes and I knew it wouldn't take long so I was upset at how long I had to wait. Not only did I have to wait long before speaking with Mashensky, I paid with credit card and apparently it uses the same line as their printer...someone was printing a 10 page document, which I didn't mind except for the fact that it took probably 40 seconds to print 1 page...so it took another 10 minutes to finally get my credit card through and sign the stub. Overall, the experience was not great, office dingy...I only went because I needed an appointment for the very next day and she was the only one available, all the good doctors were taken apparently.
If I had the choice I'd definently go somewhere else, not totally horrible but just a few things happened that could have been avoided
Dr. Mashensky is the best. She is considerate and she cares a lot about her patients.
Highly competent doctor and office staff. No wait time.
Dr. Mashensky is really wonderful. She is always asking very important questions and really knows how to help people feel better. I would highly recommend her to anyone. I do suggest to call to book your appointment. It seems sometimes the Zocdoc system doesn't match theirs.
Physician and her Staff are superbly thorough, competent, and professional.
I saw her for a physical, she was very attentive. By far the most attentive doctor I have seen in NYC. I guess the true test will be if I need to see her for something else during the course of the year; but so far so good.
It was very nice she took time to ask and answer questions
there was not much of a wait and she did ever thing i need her to check on
Dr. Mashensky was very kind and made me feel comfortable.
The office is old, outdated, and does not inspire confidence. I was not even greeted by staff, but luckily I was able to find a sign-in sheet. Dr. Mashensky herself was cold and uninviting. The search for a primary care physician continues.
Great doctor, highly recommend. She is very thorough.
I thought she was a good doctor. She was very thorough and asked a lot of good, relevant questions. The wait time was a little long, but otherwise it was very positive.
Dr Mashensky was very nice and informed me in detail about the condition I was visiting her for. She took a detailed history and was happy to help me with my problem, as well as asking me to follow up with her in a week to see my progress.
Dr. Mashensky is a great doctor. She is thorough, knowledgeable, & cares about her patients. If you are in a rush or are a "chop, chop" type of person, then you might want to try another doctor. Her administrative team is not so great. Upon arrival, 5 minutes before my appointment, the receptionist told me to take a seat. As a new patient, I know that I would need to fill out paper work & for them to verify insurance. They did not hand me any forms or took my insurance card. They were socializing & talking about their weekend & proceeding with their normal tasks. It was until 25 minutes later, that the doctor's assistant came out & gave me a new patient's form to fill out. It took another 20-25 minutes for her to verify my insurance. Then I was taken to the doctor's check-up room. I waited about another 15 minutes, until the doctor's assistant took down general information about myself & drew blood for my physical. It was about 10 minutes later that I finally saw the doctor. I think she is a very nice person, she was thorough & checked everything out with a complete physical. She is very knowledgeable & had answers to all my questions. But she should fire all her receptionist & get new ones. If you can fix them, replace them!
Good experience I would recommend her.
She is very thorough and great. Highly recommend.
She is very good doctor i would recommend her to everybody.
Office space is small, tight and somewhat uncomfortable(office shares space with a physical therapy group). Receptionist was on personal call and was distracted from assisting me when I arrived and wasn't pleasant. Doctor's assistant was nice. Doctor M is professional, calm and spent a good amount of time asking questions and listening to me. Having said that, she is too serious. If you check out her picture you can almost hear the photographer say, "Smile, Larisa, smile." A doctor who offers an occasional smile makes me feel relaxed. That's just me. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but she's not a keeper. Heads up: some of these ratings are total bogus. Buyer beware.
She is v sweet and caring She gave me a complete phisical and prescribed antibiotics for my condition V convenient location close to midtown,my work place
My appoinment with larisa Mashensky was graet.I satisfied highly. She is very experienced doctor.
Dr. is excellent. Her office support staff and the general office environment seem a little unprofessional and a little run down.
It took a long time before they asked for my information as I was a new patient, and very long time before I even saw the doctor. But once I was in, she gave me all her attention and wasn't rushing anything and was very helpful in anything I asked. The conversation with her was a lot better than previous doctors who just come in, prescribe, and go out. With her, we talked about my symptoms, my options, and she seemed to genuinely want me to get better. Will go again if I have more time on my hands. Do not recommend going during your lunch break as it took me an hour and a half total at the office.
Very nice,very professional
This experience has been awful.I would not be able to recommend this office to anyone.
She spent a lot of time with me and answered all my questions. Her office staff was very considerate and professioanl.
Besides things being a bit hectic in the office (i.e. having to wait 45 min to be seen even when I was a new patient AND arriving 30 min before my appointment) Dr. Mashensky seems to do a good job and has a pleasant although quiet, demeanor. She didn't just give me a script right away but instead told me to wait and see if I got any better. The office is a bit unprofessional at times but if you can overlook that, Dr. Mashensky is a good choice for a primary care doctor.
I loved her the moment I layed eyes on her. She just looked so professional. I first I was nervous. But, once she started talking to me it was GREAT. She was VERY through with the exam and follow
This was my first visit with Dr. Mashensky. I hadn't been to a doctor in almost 4 years. After suffering from a bad cold for days I scheduled an appointment for help. She performed a very thorough set of background questions and prescribed a some medications for my cold as well as other ailments that have been troubling me. I had the sense the she was genuinely concerned with my health and I appreciated the additional effort she made to help me locate doctors for my other issues.
The office was dirty and the office staff was rude.
Excellent, professional! Explains a lot what I could not understand. Prescribes vital vitamins and pills, makes sure my insurance covers. Always fights for my health. Additionally, she is young and has recent technological knowledge in medicine, not just like those old doctors with old technology. Highly recommend her to anyone. Just visit her and make sure to keep her as your primacy physician.
I waited 3 minutes only, and it was to fill out insurance paper work, since it was my first visit. She is extremely polite, excellently talented when it comes to examining my health. She is aware of a lot, not like many other doctors who claim to have a narrowed knowledge and answer to your 95 questions with "I don't know, it is not my expertise". If that's the case, then you are not a primary physician! My previous family doctor would ask a lot, yet not always successful to make correct diagnoses. Previous doctor used to send me to lots of other doctors per my single visit. I thought it was a kind of game to charge insurance more. Dr. Mashensky seems more professional. She knows exactly what happened and prescribes vital pills. I was asking about ENT doctor due to pain in my left ear. She immediately called several doctors, found out next day availability and confirmed he excepted my insurance. She even prescribed 3 pills and vitamin to support my immunity. Usually, I don't judge doctors at first visit. However, Dr. Mashensky left a very positive image even during my first visit. I did tell about her to my wife and brother's family. They all switched to Dr. Mashensky as their primary doctor. By the way, she was the only doctor accepted my rare insurance on 42nd Street in Manhattan, rich doctors usually don't care about minor insurances. I highly recommend her to anyone.
She got me to the right specialist immediately for my broken finger bone and she personally, checked up with me by phone and in person after I went to the speicalist to make sure I was okay.
Terrific doctor. Very knowledgeable, patient and approachable. Answered a lot of questions and provided additional feedback. Office is very pleasant, as well. Highly recommended!
