My apt. time was at 3:00 pm. Usually this office is able to see me on time however this time I waited about 90 minutes before being seen. I suggest providing patients with updates as to when they will be seen so they have the option of rescheduling, rather than waiting around. Fortunately I didn't have somewhere to be until 6:30 pm
Loved Dr. Holmes! Would highly recommend.
I was disappointed. The front desk staff was not very friendly. I signed in and waited. I was the only one in the waiting area. After about 15 minutes I was called up to the desk and asked for my insurance and ID cards. Then I was handed papers to complete! I completed the forms and thought to myself that I could have completed the forms sooner had they just been handed to me once I walked in. I returned the forms to the desk and asked if the forms were available online. I was told that the forms were in deed online. I commented that I wish the gentleman that made my appointment over the phone would have let me know. It would have saved time. I was called back shortly after completing the forms. Dr. Holmes and a young lady in “rotation” appeared relatively quickly. Dr. Holmes asked if it was my first time in the office. The doctor spoke very loudly and rather fast. Her observation of my condition and the reason I came in was very fast and not very thorough. She simply prescribe medication and a follow-up appointment. I had to review with her assistant the instructions since she went so fast.
I have a long-term, insidious skin condition with my lower lip, but something tells me if anyone's to figure this one out, it'll be Dr. Holmes. To quote Reverend Jesse Jackson, "Keep hope alive!"
I really enjoy speaking with Dr.Holmes. Very professional and very nice.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit with the doctor she was very knowledgeable and very pleasant
Very warm and personable. Straightforward, direct, didn't waste time but didn't rush the visit either. Happy to have found her.
Quick, thorough, helpful, professional, good advice.
Excellent, professional, friendly and highly knowledgeable.
Dr. Holmes was able to answer my questions without any hesitation and gave me samples of products for eczema and dermatitis so I can see if they are effective before purchasing full-sized prescriptions. My past two visits I saw Caroline, the PA, and she was wonderful too!
I liked Dr. Rosa. She took the time to explain things and made sure that I was comfortable before beginning any procedure.
Dermatalogy facial scars treatment was excellent.
My experience with Dr. Holmes was very pleasant. She is personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. I would definitely see her again and refer to my friends and family.
Dr. Holmes is kind, caring, and very knowledgeable!
Great , she explained what I was experiencing and how we would handle the problem.
Dr Holmes and her team are nothing short of fantastic. Friendly, efficient, professional, and a refreshing change from ones usual medical appointments. Bravo,Tutti Bravo Dr Holmes abd her staff rock!!!
Dr. Holmes is very personable and professional. My teenage son was open to talking with her freely and that made me feel very comfortable. The office also has late afternoon appointments and Saturday although those are limited and fill pretty fast.
Dr. Holmes was awesome, as always. Caring, courteous, informative and professional.
Dr.Holmes and her staff, especially her Medical Asst or Nurse Practitioner, Caroline (can't remember which one she is) are excellent. They are very caring, knowledgeable, patient and efficient. They put care in healthcare. I highly recommend Dr. Holmes and her staff to all (man, woman, child, etc.). When you are good at what you do and love what you do, it shows in the fruit your bare. Great practice!! :0)
Each time I've gone to Dr.Holmes, I always feel that I received the best care. She is not only very professional and knowledgeable, she takes the time to explain in a lay persons language exactly what the condition is and what the treatment will be. She is always cheerful and I have recommended her to others, who found her to be exactly as I described. Dr. Holmes also makes follow up calls to check on my progress. Many stars on all fronts to Dr. Holmes
Excellent compassionate, intelligent care. Great staff make me feel almost like being a member of the family
I came in for an unexplained rash that was spreading all over my face, arms and chest. Yolanda spent literally 2 minutes with me, and kept trying to cut me off and leave the room but I had a bunch of questions. She didn't know what it was and didn't ask me any questions about possible exposures. She just wrote me a prescription and left. I had also wanted to get some acne medication but she was out like a light. The prescription didn't work in the end, but 2 weeks later the rash went away on its own. Never again- she's just trying to rack up insurance claims by seeing as many patients as possible it seems.
This is a very high-volume practice. I probably spoke to Dr. Holmes for less than 5 minutes and I had to specifically ask for her. Her PA was very professional and seemed capable of dealing with most issues, but I wanted to speak to Dr. Holmes anyway.
She and the rest of her team were very friendly, professional and efficient. I highly recommend her!
she was very nice but the process felt very rushed.
Dr Holmes was very pleasant. I am a new patient. She personally came out to get me from the waiting room and made me feel like I was her patient for years. She told me in a minute what my problem was. She is great.
i have been a client of dr holmes for about 2 years and have had a number of cosmetic procedures and purchased several packages. i always enjoy a visit with dr holmes! she is upbeat, professional, works with me to get desired effects, and has great aesthetic sensibilities. my experiences have been 100% positive from a dr-patient and medical perspective. check out cosmetic happy hour for prices you will really appreciate.
Great experience. Short wait to see doctor...love that I could get check in ahead of time and they provided text reminders about the appointment. Prescription was sent directly to my pharmacy of choice.
Dr Holmes is very helpful and her office assistant Cristina is wonderful. However, the rest of the staff is disappointing. While Cristina will answer my emails and questions promptly, the rest of the staff always makes me call in though I don't see why they have to do that as opposed to emailing. When I speak with him he is impossible to understand over the phone- very soft spoken and doesn't really come across as a professional or like he cares. His voice tends to trail off at the end of sentences. I have also had issues with him returning my calls.
Yolanda was great. Quick but friendly. Knowledgeable. I will definitely go back.
Dr Holmes is an OUTSTANDING doctor. I have alopecia which is a stressful and depressing condition. She is encouraging, always looking for a positive angle, and giving stress reducing techniques. She is not only well versed in her field but she has given me referrals to other doctors that are just as professional as she is. I adore Dr Holmes and how professional she is and she is extremely empathetic regarding the situation faced by those of us with dermalogical issues. So grateful for Dr Holmes!!!!!!
Dr. Holmes is always pleasant, upbeat and efficient with time. It's clear she enjoys her work and interacting with people. Additionally, her front and back office staff follow her example.
I was initially disappointed that I wasn't able to meet with Dr. Holmes and wasn't given an explanation as to why I was assigned another doctor. With that being said, the doctor I met with was attentive, knowledgeable and willing to answer any and all questions. I'm excited to see the results of my new treatment.
Great experience! Easy check-in process, friendly reception staff, I was admitted quickly and the doctor addressed all of my concerns. Would definitely recommend!
Dr. Holmes was in the room with me for about 2 minutes. She was incredibly nice, but I wasn't thrilled with the attentiveness or her skin check.
A superb professional. Excellent manager.Excellent front office staff. Short wait.
The wait time was very long and her staff were not that friendly. She ended up seeing me for about 5 minutes and Googling what my symptoms may be. She was very friendly, but I was not at all impressed with her services.
EXCELLENT VISIT. IT WAS SORT--BUT VERY SATISFYING. I FELT SHE UNDERSTOOD IMMEDIATELY MY CONCERNS, AND RESPONDED WITH POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS.
I was very happy with my visit with Dr. Holmes
I was glad to be able to get the perfect prescription for my skin ailment. Unfortunately, for me to have to get another prescription, every year i have to make a new appointment. Each appointment has gotten shorter and I have been downgraded from Dr. Holmes to a Doctor who works for her, and now to a student intern. there's no real intent to treat me or concern about my other skin conditions. kinda just feel like I'm easy money for them.
Very positive Experience. I waited about 10 minutes after I checked in and only about 5 more for the doctor to see me. Pretty fast!
The best doctor's office I've been to since moving to DC. Super quick service, friendly, and fun environment.
Her office knows the care of my skin. TWO THUMBS UP
Dr. Holmes was very professional and knowledgeable. I am confident I got good care from her. Staff at the front desk were very helpful as well. What I am a bit disappointed in is the amount of patients they book simultaneously. It seems as if waiting approximately 30 minutes is the norm, and once you get to the exam room, the doctor rushes through to try to squeeze in as many patients as possible.
The room was not clean from previous surgery. She was apologetic however. Not sure if I'm pleased from her procedure yet. Tbd.
After checking in Dr. Holmes actually greeted me and led me to one of the exam rooms. She was very professional and attentive to my needs. She listened to my concerns and was able to identify my problem upon examining me. I was in and out of her office within 20-30 minutes. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a dermatologist.
It was good. She helped me and she was really nice. ?? Thank you so much Yolanda ...??
I arrived a few minutes early for my first appointment with Dr. Holmes, at which time I had to fill out minimal paperwork. Her attendant was quick to call me in. The doctor was quick to see me. And the treatment was great. Not only did Dr. Holmes recommend medication for my skin condition that acted within days and was much more effective than that recommended by a previous dermotologist, but she also gave me free samples of both needed prescriptions and told me to try them before contacting her office for the actual prescriptions if they worked well. All in all an extremely pleasant and fruitful visit to a dermatologist who is located close to my office and is bright, cheerful and good at what she does.
I have been a patient of Dr. Holmes for years and she has always been respectful and knowledgeable. I love having her as a dermatologist!
I enjoyed my visit with Dr. Holmes. She is quick and professional.
Very friendly and knowledgeable care.
the visit was great it was a pleasure meeting Dr Holmes she had a great bedside manner
My visit to Dr.Holmes was very pleasant and organic. Her energy levels were very positive and her expertise was superb. I would recommend her services to other people and the wait was not out the norm.
I loved her I would highly recommend her, she answered all my questions, very good feedback, etc.
My visit was a valuable experience
I was really pleased with the professionalism of the staff and the online process!
The service was great and the assistants were very knowledgable about my skin and how to get it clear
Very professional and pleasant
I didnt see the doctor For more than a couple minutes, but the other girls were good.
frustrated that i had to fill out forms in person after already completing them on zocdoc. wait was nearly an hour and she spentbfewer than 10 mins with me, barely looked at my issue and just gave medicine with no explanation etc. felt very very rushed.
I've been a patient for many years. Dr.Holmes is professional, personable and extremely knowledgeable.
I took my son to see Dr. Holmes and everyone was friendly, professional, and timely. Dr. Holmes was very friendly and made my son feel very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this Doctor's Office.
Dr Holmes rushed the appointment. I was in and out in 10 minutes for a first appointment during which she encouraged me to seek other services from her practice unrelated to the reason for my visit. In the past a similar first appointment with other physicians for a similar reason took at least double this time.
I went to 2 appointments with Dr. Holmes and will not be returning. Both experiences were disappointing. The wait time during my first appointment was 40 minutes, to then be seen by different Doctor that rushed through my examination. I insisted on seeing Dr Holmes too (since i waited a month to specifically see her) and she came to the exam room to also rush me through as well. Essentially, without even examining me i was handed prescriptions and samples. I thought maybe they had a very busy day at the office. So i scheduled the follow up appointment and also tried the treatment indicated. I just got back from my second visit and same thing. Dr Holmes stood 10 feet away from me, looking at the computer, didn't ask me any questions and just handing me more prescriptions (after the initial one was not successful). She didn't explain what the new treatments were, only the side effects. While Dr Holmes is friendly, the lack of actual examination (skin/hair/lifestyle) combined with a bombardment of prescriptions, manufacturer's coupons, and samples is just not what i consider excellent service from a health professional.
I saw Caroline. She was wonderful. After being treated at a popular hospital for a year. She was like a breath of fresh air. Wanted to try something new. Finally!
Dr. Holmes and her staff were personable, efficient and timely at every stage of the office appointment. I will be seeing her for all my dermatology care.
I booked with Dr. Holmes after receiving a recommendation from another lady dealing with hair loss, but was apprehensive after reading reviews. While yes, I waited more than a half hour to be seen, I found Dr. Holmes to be totally professional and respectful. She could have easily blown me off about my concerns, but instead she listened, asked the right questions, and gave me a course of action that was totally reasonable. She also listened and addressed my other more minor concerns and did not make me feel rushed. Happy to have found a good dermatologist (who takes insurance!).
Dr. Holmes has a very vibrant personality and immediately makes you feel comfortable. I have been seeing her for over 10 years and have always enjoyed my visits with her. She is very direct which I like and always opts for the more cautious approach to an issue and does what she feels is in the best interest of the patient. She never seems rushed and gives you her full attention and makes sure all of your questions are answered and issues are dealt with. I have always been happy with my treatment during the visits and the course of treatment she recommends has always been effective.
Amazing doctor who truly cares about her patients.
Dr. Holmes is warm, open, affable, and attentive. Appreciate her being straightforward and making me aware of available treatment/procedure options. As a first time patient, I now believe I've made an excellent choice.
Great staff & bedside manner but coming in and the office seemed short staffed made it a real strain for me to wait longer than i had to. I had to walk out and reschedule my appointment again. What makes it worst is that my original appointment on Nov. 17 had to be canceled due to me being sick with laryngitis. I ended up being billed even though I made a note online to the office explaining why i had to cancel that appointment. I'm giving this one last shot because I understand how things can get behind after the Holidays but I was not happy at all and being late for work during my lunch break.
I signed a consent form to have Dr. Holmes perform a procedure, but her colleague performed the procedure. I think the choice or use of various health care providers should be reflected in the consent form. Also, Dr. Holmes entered the procedure room 3 times without knocking to retrieve supplies for other patients. One of these times, I was changing and was caught off guard. Dr. Holmes did check the work of the provider who cared for me, so there are some checks and balances.
She is so nice, professional, personable and warm. Really liked her and the staff.
Great provider! Knows her stuff, listens and provides a solution that works!!! Highly recommended.
She was very professional and addressed my issue appropriately.
The moment I got into Dr. Holmes' office I was treated cordially. I did not have to wait to see the doctor. Both she and her PA warmly welcomed me. Dr. Holmes asked all the right questions and followed up with helpful comments. She was receptive to all questions I had, and gave me good advice and information. Dr. Holmes seems to be the kind of doctor that will take a telephone call if you want to speak to her directly--which is not always the case with many medical doctors..This was my first visit and based on my experience, I definitely recommend her and will avail myself of her services again if necessary..
I was very nervous as I was not sure of the outcome of my visit. Dr. Holmes and her staff were very comforting and assuring.
She was personable and seemed knowledgeable. It was, however, horrible that my appointment (which I was early for) was at 1:45pm but I was not called back to see her until 2:21pm and even then had to wait a few minutes before she arrived. I'm not sure if it's her staff or what but it was an extra 30 minutes of my day that I had to clock out for but didn't expect. She apologized and was kind, which was nice. I just expected a timely office considering all of the paperwork and posted notices about paying up front and charging a hefty fee if you don't show up.
She was very professional.
She's punctual, polite and professional!
I had to wait a half hour for a 5 minute appointment with no apologies.
Dr Holmes was very knowledgable, friendly and kind. However, there were 4 people with 9:00am appointments and I waited over 40 minutes before I got to see her.
I was very pleased with my experience today with Dr. Holmes and her staff. I ready many reviews and decided to keep my appointment and I must say that I'm glad that I did. From the start I was met with a smile and her staff was nothing but courteous and professional. I was not rushed nor was I issue ignored and not given the proper attention. I was given samples but they were to my benefit should I miss the pharmacy this evening I can start with what was provided to me today. My prescriptions were sent to the pharmacy while I was in the room and my follow up was scheduled prior to my leaving. I would like to give Dr. Holmes and her staff kudos for making an uncomfortable patient feel relaxed and at ease. Alec (I hope I'm spelling that correctly) is a wonderful welcoming committee and he is very engaging. Thanks again for such a wonderful experience.
She seems well respected and knowledgable but didn't listen to me. I mentioned that I had a rash and listed things I knew hadn't caused it. She wasn't listening and said its normal and probably caused by something I'd already ruled out. She seemed busy and in a rush to leave. Didn't really look at me before she wrote some prescriptions and left.
Everything. I was only in office less the hour! To be there such a shirt period of time she was very attentive and hand on!
Today, I returned to Dr. Holmes's office for a suture removal after a prior procedure. Whereas my previous reviews have pertained to visits with Dr. Holmes herself, I wanted to point out that today's visit was my first time receiving treatment from Physician Assistant Caroline Roza. She was communicative, reassuring, caring, friendly and efficient. I've been to Dr. Holmes's office three times now, and I have been impressed each time by her and her medical staff. I highly recommend her practice.
I really like how the office is efficient. I think it's the early appointments that help. when you're on time the doctor isn't pushed back and trying to get so many people in at once. Usually when the earlier appointments are kept on time and don't run over, that creates a positive domino effect for the remainder of the day.
I like this doctor, however I waited a very long time, other than that I would definately recommend this doctor to anyone. She was great!
The past two times I visited I saw Caroline (who is great!) and was seen IMMEDIATELY. I was in and out in probably 5 minutes. This time I did have to wait about 10-15 minutes once in the room. Still not that long by regular standards, but I got a bit spoiled from the first times. But Dr. Holmes and her assistant were very friendly and funny. The front desk staff is also very personable. A great group there all around.
Dr Holmes is great, I wish she was in Northern VA and it would be even better:)
Friendly with good beside manner. Answered my questions and honored my requests.
Dr. Holmes was friendly but seemed a little rushed. She asked to make another appointment to discuss in more detail. Overall, she was helpful with the basics, but more questions equate to another appointment.
She's terrific! We ALL love Dr. Holmes! She is organized labor's dermatologist, without a doubt. Lovely lady too.
The doctor was professional but the receptionist has an attitude problem. For than reason I will never go back there. If the doctor wants to maintain and grow her business she should urgently replace that receptionist.
Extremely well-run waiting room--always seen immediately. Dr. Holmes is kind, thoughtful, considerate, knowledgeable, and gracious with her time. I highly recommend her!
Yes will return to Dr. Holmes. Excellent doctor and creative services and events and great bed-side manner.
Overall Dr. Holmes was a very nice doctor and had a professional bedside manner. Unfortunately, I ended up having to find another dermatologist because my moles were not completely removed all the way. A plastic surgeon had to go back in and remove the moles again.
Great doctor, she is busy but warm and knows her stuff.
The doctor I saw was very in-and-out. She quickly went over what I wanted her to, asked only a few questions, and then was out the door. I remembered a few moments later that I forgot to ask something, but couldn't find her anymore and no one even said goodbye as I left. While there was nothing technically wrong with my visit, it definitely could have been better.
Appointment was quick and easy, hardly any wait. Dr. Holmes listened to my concerns and gave me some options. Would definitely recommend.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit w/Dr. Holmes. She was kind and encouraging. I have had horrible acne for over 10 years and my biggest fear was that I may never have clear beautiful skin. Not only did she assure me that I could have beautiful skin but told how this could happen with a good time frame. I have been to several other dermatologists and she by far was the best.
I was in and out! Was seen at my exact appointment time! Front desk was attentive and professional. Highly recommended.
Very courteous and professional. She addressed my issues immediately and provided a solution with a immediate follow up.
I am very impressed with Dr. Holmes, she is very informative and she knows what she is doing. I spent over two years with ecezma breakeouts and was prescribed several medications by other dermatologists that didn't work. Last year, I took a chance and research her on online and decided to give her a visit. My appointment wait time was under 30 minutes. She was able to take one look at my situation and prescribe cloderm. My breakout went away within a month and I have had no serious breakouts since. I have decided that she will be my new dermatologist. Today I was suffering from a rash that I thought was related to the sun. But Dr. Holmes suggested that it may be in relation to something that I have recently injested or solution I rubbed on my skin. She prescribed an itch cream for me and I have all the confidence that it will work for me. I look forward to my next visit in 3 weeks. I also like the fact that she has coupons for some of the medications she prescribes. Thank you Dr. Holmes...
My follow-up appt went well. The doctors' bedside manner was excellent. Her diagnosis and treatment were dead on. This is a dermatologist I would definitely recommend!
Overall it was okay. I felt like I had to hurry through some of my questions because she may have been ready to go to her next client. I'm just hoping the items she prescribed work for me. I'm glad I was actually seen by her and not an assistant which is my complaint about many dermatologist.
She is a good dermatologist, but needs more frontline staff. They are always TOTALLY booked and patients are forced to wait for an hour minimum in order to be seen. Plan ahead and bring a book - if I had to go to the derm regularly, I would probably pick another location.
Excellent doctor. Would recommend.
Did not show any interest whatsoever in my problem. Immediately prescribed me with random medication. I felt like I was keeping someone in a hurry from running away to some other more important thing to do. Pay attention to the negative comments she receives on Google Reviews; their description of Dr. Holmes' office is close to the experience I had, and, given the speed at which other patients were treated, I was likely not the only one left with that impression that day.
I went in and felt rushed, but I wanted Laser treatment. I should have followed my gut feeling. I now have a 1st degree burn on the side of my nose where the laser treatment was performed. I won't be returning.
She rushed me in and rushed me right out without a detail explaination but tried to get me to signup for her expensive laser hair removal packages. NO THANKS!
Good. My problem was relatively simple but Dr. Homles was friendly and personable and I didn't wait an inordinate amount of time.
The office and Dr Holmes was very professional. Dr Holmes addressed my issues as expected and showed great interests and concern of my needs.
I arrived about 15 minutes early and was seen 10 minutes before my appointment time. I was actually all done by the time my appointment was supposed to begin!
It was a very enjoyable experience. The entire staff was very friendly and polite. I did not have to wait long.
Very pleasant, likeable and professional. Knows her stuff!
She was quick and efficient. She knew which drugs to prescribe right away! She had answers to my questions quickly.
I loved the visit. Everyone was friendly. It wasn't as polished as some other doctor's offices (a little disorganized), but I was in and out quickly with no problems and a huge smile on my face. This is my new doctor.
Great office. I learned a ton about skin care in just a few minutes and got exactly what I was looking for. I have already referred them to my fiance' and look forward to continue recommending Dr. Holmes's office to others.
Very personable and informative
She didn't shake my hand, look me in the eye, or even look at my skin.
Doctor was fine and good, but wait time was much longer than it should have been. They scheduled two of us at the same time and seems a little like they are trying to push through as many people as possible.
My appt. was at 2:15 pm; I arrived at 2:00 pm and was seen at 3:10 pm. I enjoyed meeting Dr. Holmes; she listened to my concerns and immediately developed a treatment plan for my adult acne. I am looking forward on working with her to clear up my skin condition. I have another appt. in six weeks. Talk again soon.
I was very unhappy with my visit with Dr.Holmes. I have never been to a dermatologist that didn't look at my face even once to discuss certain problem areas. She came into the room, sat down, repeated the reason I wrote why I came in and started throwing out names of possible medications to use. Not once did she ask me any history about what I had used before. The sad thing about all of this is that she had a student following her and I would hate to think that the student is learning that this is how you conduct appointments. She exhibited exactly why many people feel that doctors are about money rather than helping. I know this review seems harsh but I left BEYOND dissappointed in her lack of assessment skills. She spent about 6 minutes in my room and left me with my mouth open thinking "is that really it?". I would never recommend her not because she's not nice but she barely looked at me when she spoke to me, she kept her head in her laptop and she never assessed my face. I went to this appointment in desperate need of getting immediate help and she completely failed me!!! NEVER AGAIN!!
Nice woman. Answered my questions and listened to my concerns. Explained procedutres clearly. Was in and out. Good first time experience .
While sweet and cheerful, I barely saw Dr. Holmes for five minutes. She quickly glanced at my acne, looked at what I had been prescribed in the past and offered up several new RXs. And that was that...
too long of a wait, nice doc
The office has a convenient downtown location but it is chock full of with promotional brochures for cosmetic products like Botox. I had plenty of time to stare at the ads while i was kept waiting (unclothed) in the exam room for 15 minutes. Dr. Holmes was nice but sped through the exam of my moles and freckles with some cursory advise about sunscreen.
I waited 45 minutes to be seen and the doctor spent approximately 90 seconds with me.
I'm a new patient, and I come to see her because of acne & skin problems on my face, back and chest (acne). I was a bit surprised that she didn't even take a look at my back and chest and right away prescribe me with the acne medicines. I hope it was because she's really good and know what she's doing. But I was hoping she would at least take a look at my skin on my back and chest before judging what's happening with me. Also, I felt that she's a bit in a rush, that she didn't have the time to hear more from me. I was reluctant to keep her longer but now I wished that I would asked her to look at my back. Anyway, generally she's nice when talking to me. She might be a good doctor, and I was probably putting too much expectations on her (after reading the good reviews here), but just from the 5 mins she spent in the room with me, I honestly wasn't too satisfied. I just hope she knows what she's doing when prescribing me with medicines without even looking at my back and chest skin. She told me to come back after 6 weeks. I already scheduled the next appointment. We'll see if things getting better with my skin after 6 weeks.
Was my first visit, for something straightforward, and Dr. Holmes was friendly and to the point. I was in and out very quickly. The staff out front were also nice and I was able to set up a follow up appointment before leaving.
I like Dr. Homes. Although I did feel very rushed through the appointment and the medical plan going forward wasn't as clear as it could have been. But the staff was great and I left with some free samples!
For a 10 min appointment, waited almost and an hour and a half.
I'm very satisfied with my doctor's visit. Dr. Holmes listened to my concerns and answered all questions. The wait time was under 5mns! I'll definitely recommend her!
This was my first visit and she is an excellent doctor. I am very please with my choice of physican.
Great! I would definitely recommend her!
Great visit! She was very personable!
It was my first time, but I got lost on the way, so I got there 5 min before the appointment time. When I was signing in, there were already two other people who had appoinments with Dr. Holmes at the same time that I made an appointment. I could not understand how you can see three patience at the same time, but I just decided to wait 15-20 min because It was my fault to get there late. I ended up waiting 45 min, and the doctor did not make an apology. When I told her that I waited for 45 minutes, she told me that it happens. And that was it! While I was talking about my concerns, she never gave me a clear answer. All of her diagnosis were like "we think this is ~~" or "we think it could be~." I would not recommend here if you have a concern about your skin condition and you'd like to have a clear and comprehensive explanation about the situation.
1. Doctor.- I explained I had lost about 60% of my hair in the last months. She looked at me and just said, oh no, you still have a lot of hair, without even touching my head/hair, looking at it, nothing at all. I insisted I was worried and that I also had dermatitis. Again, she didnt take a look at my skin. She left to look for the name of a medicine to recommend me, and tell me to come back in a month if it didnt work. I then learned the medicine for hair loss had cortisone and is used for other problems. 2. Wait time.- They simply forgot about me. They apologized after an hour and a half wait time, saying they had misplaced my papers after I checked in. This could happen to anybody, but it was the lack of care from the doctor that really disappointed me.
I love Dr. Holmes...She is thorough in her exams and listens to my concerns. Her staff will call in prescriptions for you when you run out. They even give out samples until you can get your medicine refilled.
Went in for a follow-up after 6 weeks, to see how the acne prescriptions were working out. One was still pretty irritating to my skin, so she told me to stop using that one and gave me enough samples of something else to get me through another 6 weeks. My breakouts had also gotten worse (which is to be expected at first), but they had also switched to the cystic kind (I used to only have one a or two a month and it went to maybe once a week) so they also gave me an antibiotic to see how that would go. That was also, totally free with a coupon to give to my pharmacist after those samples run out and I don't have any side effects. It was a quick and easy follow-up appointment, and my concerns were heard, and I'll be back in another 6-8 weeks to see how everything is going!
I am a long time patient who values her expertise and caring demeanor.
My personal information was not sent ahead of time so I had to complete all of my info again.
I got to the office about 15 minutes for my appointment to get my acne checked out. I ended up filling out a ton of paperwork, so in retrospect i probably should have gotten there a little earlier. I got taken back to a room about 10 minutes after my appointment, where a guy asked me a bit more about my past medical history. Dr. Holmes finally came in, took a look at my skin, and asked me about my current skin care routine, as well as any medications I had taken in the past. When I couldn't remember the name of one she took the time to bring me some samples to see if they looked familiar. She ended up prescribing me two topical treatments, and gave me some samples, and rebates for the prescriptions, and detailed care instructions for using them along with my current skin care (which I have had doctors in the past just completely leave out). Overall, she was very nice, and this was a completely painless visit. I'm looking forward to seeing if these creams work for me.
I went to her because my face had been breaking out. She didn't even look at my skin..just came in and wrote out some general prescription and ushered me out. I mean..the whole thing lasted like 2 minutes. You would think that they could at least pretend to look at your skin and make you feel like they are actually considering your own specific needs. Oh well. I got my prescriptions but will probably not be going back. I don't even know if these prescriptions are correct for the issues i'm having.
Great experience. I've read some negative reviews and I have no idea why; she is a very personable doc and has great advice. Very happy I went to see her.
Very pleasant experience. Will go back! She addressed each concern. She is very attentive! I rReally like her.
I have known Dr. Holmes for more than six years - she always act with more professiionalism, friendliness and competitive. She makes you feel so at ease and so friendly that you feel you are talking to a loving sister.
She is very knowledgeable and professional. I felt very comfortable with her expertise.
Tried to contact the doctors office to no avail and when I did get a recorded message I left my information and no one returned my call.
Dr. Holmes was very friendly and professional. Though my appointment was fairly brief (just needed a check-up and prescription renewal), she was very willing to answer some questions I had regarding another skin related matter.
Great experience! Fast and easy!
It was OK.
The logistics were great, but she was extremely rushed and impersonal.
Dr. Holmes is the best in the Metropolitan DC area!
I enjoyed my appointment with Dr. Holmes. She was very informative as well as kind and caring. She connected with me. I expressed to her that she would be an excellent celebrity dermatologist and she just chuckled and replied that she just wants to be the best dermatologist that she can be to me. Excellent visit!! Kudos to Dr. Holmes!.
I really loved meeting with Dr. Holmes. She listened to my concerns and was extremely reassuring in her diagnosis.
It was a very good appointment. Very satisfied with the service.
I waited longer than it took me to be seen. She never even looked at my skin closely just asked about previous medications and prescribed me new ones. I had a follow-up appointment scheduled but I was never called to be reminded about my upcoming appointment. If you have serious skin issues and you're looking for someone to help treat that, I would not suggest visiting this dermatologist.
Quick and easy.
I really loved the doctor and would recommend her to my friends who are looking for a dermatologist. I wasn't impressed with the front desk staff as some came off rude (I do have to mention a lovely woman who didn't have a full time presence at the front desk, but knew a lot about products and was very friendly and recommended some great skin care regiments for me). Bottom line, many people who visit a dermatologist do so not only because they have to to, but because they choose to - and if we choose to spend hunderds of dollars on getting fillers or whatever else - we can choose to see someone else if the front desk service isn't up to par. We want to be pampered from the moment we walk in.
She was haste - I didn't feel comfortable at her pace at all.
I wish she'd spent more time looking into other options as opposed to glancing at my face then just prescribing two medicines that will make my face "get worse before it gets better". Who'd want to get worse??
I was seen in less than 10 minuttes
Good doctor. Smart and nice.
After waiting over 30 mins to see her I felt very rushed during my appoitment.
The doctor was very courteous and professional. I was disappointed that the wait was an hour for an appointment that lasted less than 15 minutes.
I was very disappointed by this first visit at Dr. Holmes office. Let me start with this, the waiting room was loud, the front desk staff was very unhelpful. When I met Dr. Holmes, she looked at my face from about 3 feet away and asked why I was there to see her. I explained that I am 40 and still having severe acne breakouts leaving me with horrible brown spots. She never asked when my breakouts tended to, what products I was using etc. She explained a few things so quickly that I did not get half of what she said, and just prescribed two topical creams and was supposed to prescribed another cream because I have hyperpigmentation on my shoulder, she forgot to do it because she was in such a hurry and I did not have time to remind her because she just rushed me. Then she asked me to check two things with her assistants, they were clueless. Last but not least, she was supposed to give me a pre-authorization for my insurance to cover the medication, she did not do it and I ended up paying a fortune. The whole experience was horrible and the least professional experience I've ever had at a Dr.'s office. Bottom line: I’m not going back.
Great, friendly, professional. And beautiful! Hoping the prescriptions work well
Dr. Holmes is always friendly, responsive, prompt, and informative.
Dr. Holmes was truly fantastic. She is very comforting and professional. However, her front office staff was not particularly welcoming or friendly, but Dr. Holmes made up for this issue with her excellent bedside manner and knowledge.
Dr. Holmes was great! She was very friendly and professional. She answered all of my questions, and asked quite a frew as I was a new patient. However, I was frustrated with how long I had to wait in the waiting room, and additionally I had to wait another 20 minutes after I got into the exam room.
Dr. Holmes addressed all of my concerns.
Fast, but efficient and technically very good.
Though Dr. Holmes was polite she didn't listen to my concerns or even taken a look a my actual face. I explained to her what my face was doing and she kept saying "Okay. We will try this and se if helps." Im She came on for 5 mon then left. I tried expressing my concerns to the nurse that came in after but she brushed me off as well. I'm no doctor so she probably had a full day and more impatient patients. I literally felt that he office took money and have me pills to shut me up. Very disappointed.
Dr. Holmes is really nice -- but perhaps a bit rushed. I got everything I needed out of the appointment, but would have appreciated some more attention.
Dr. Holmes was very prompt, friendly and professional.
Very quick and effortless, gave me the information and medication that I needed. Medical assistant was very friendly as well!
Dr. Holmes didn't even look at my face (I was seeing her for acne). She just came in, sat down, and wrote out two scripts.
Dr. Holmes is an awesome doctor. She observed my issue and remedied the situation right away while teaching a student.
Dr. Holmes is an excellent doctor who is highly skilled and extremely talented and very professional
Very pleasant and knowledgeable
Very informative and helpful.
The Dr. is always a pleasure to visit and the staff has gotten better.
She was great. Didn't seem like she was in a hurry. Only in the end did it seem like I was taking her time but she answered all my questions anyway.
I have been going to Dr. Holmes for about 8 years. I find her very approachable and most of all, she listens to you. Dr. Holmes is very well versed in all the new procedures, medicines, etc.
Dr. Holmes demeanor was very friendly and put one at ease immediately.
Informative, reassuring, understanding, professional.
Seemed more concerned with pushing treatments than treating the rash that I had. Once I finally said no to her treatments she left the room and sent her PA in with some cream.
excellent- kind, professional and knowledgeable....everything you can ask for in a doctor.
Loud voice, entire conversations from treatment rooms could be overheard. Cursory eval and quick to get me out the door.
Dr. Holms was very pleasent.
I felt very comfortable and she was nice.
My facetime with Dr Holmes was about 5 minutes, which was in fact more than enough given that she was able to immediately diagnose my condition. I only wish I didn't have to wait for over 1 hour for a visit that short.
Met with Dr.Beckett, who was friendly, helpful and worked with me to ensure I was satisfied with the solutions she offered.
The doctor was very friendly and helpful. I felt a little rushed, but I understand that she has a lot of patients. Pretty good overall.
