I hope this is not taken the wrong way. My comments are purely somewhat of a "wake up call". This is really my second time seeing Dr. Dettelbach. I had a office visit referral with him a little over 10 years ago. My office visit, then, was great. I was seen on time and was so appreciative of the care that I received form both Dr. Dettlebach and his staff. This second, my office visit was nice but could have been better. The staff was great but the waiting time was not. I was the only patient sitting in the waiting room for over an hour. I got there a little early in case there were more registration papers that had to be signed. After an hour I was called back into the examining room. His technician, cleaned my ears out, then I waited another 20 minutes before the doctor came in the room. When Dr. Dettelbach did come in, I explained that I had just contacted my work and apprised them of the delay in my return. Dr. Dettelbach's reason for this set back was due to two prior emergencies that day. If only this could have been communicated to someone at the front desk that would have given me a chance to reschedule my appointment. He stepped out of the exam room again for another 20 minutes. To make a long story short, my office visit was scheduled for a 10 minute procedure and I was there for over an hour and a half, 90% of it wait time. I had a 3:30pm appointment and I did not leave until after 5pm, not arriving back to work until 5:30pm. I'm a little let down as well as feeling disrespected in regards to my time. I will still go back to Dr. Dettlebach in the future because I think he is a very knowledgable doctor and just maybe he will be more considerate of my time also.
