Dr. Deval was incredible! Her and her team are so thoughtful and made me feel super comfortable. Highly recommend :)
He cares about what you need and listens to whatever medical problems you are having. He likes to find alternative methods of solving your medical issues, rather than prescribing medicine right away.
My visit was meaningful. Dr. Sim was very attentive, patient, explained to me my treatment plans/symptoms to expect and answered all my questions and concerns. She is knowledgeable and I will recommend her to anyone seeking providers who truly cares about their patients.
Though the office wasn't great, doctor was very good and friendly. He had lot of patience understanding my problem. He adviced me with the right stuff. Great guy. I would surely go there again.
I had a great experience with Inessa Krel. She saw me quickly and asked thorough questions to help me decide on the best options for a travel consult. I would highly recommend her.
As a health care worker I highly recommend Dr Rahman. He is very knowledgeable and is thorough. The staff there was also great and the wait time was almost non existent.
She was very helpful, addressed all my concerns and answered my questions thoroughly. The nurse was also very kind and helpful with questions I had. I am self pay as I just moved to nj and they let me know all the expenses before taking any tests. I really appreciated this. Great experience and would recommend them.
He was a decent doctor and a pleasant guy but his staff were just shy of terrible. Rude, abrasive and lazy. The last people you want to see when you're under the weather; no wonder people dread going to the doctor's.
This was by far one of the most pleasant doctor visits I’ve ever had! The receptionist was so sweet and kind in her explanation of filling out paperwork. I was running a bit late and it was nice that they didn’t rush through the visit. Susannah has a wealth of information and I love her holistic approach!! She helped to provide multiple ways to take care of my issues and was very easy to talk to. I always read horror stories from people who find doctors who are only out to make a pretty penny — this is not the case with Susannah! She genuinely cares about the wellbeing and overall health of her patients. So happy I found a person I can trust with my health!
It was my first visit, he was very welcoming and observant. Moves things along efficiently and digs in where necessary.
My interaction with Dr. Kletsman was professional and efficientl. I was in and out quickly without feeling rushed or like any corners were cut.
I have been going to Dr. Meehan for years and he has always been easy to talk to about my medical situation.
Family Doctors in NYC
Family doctors are primary care physicians that cater to the medical needs of every member of a family. This field of medicine does not limit its practice to specific organs or diseases but aims to provide overall care to all patients, regardless of their gender or age. According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, “family physicians are distributed more proportionally to the U.S. population than any other physician specialty.” Family physicians specialize in managing common complaints and diagnosing underlying diseases in patients. Being primary care providers, family doctors have a constant, long-term relationship with their patients.
Family physicians are medical doctors, and they go through medical school to obtain Doctor of Medicine (MD) degrees. To specialize in family medicine, doctors are required to complete a residency program. Typically, the duration of a residency in family medicine is three years. After the residency, residents are eligible to take a board-certification exam by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Areas of care
Family doctors aim at providing comprehensive care to one and all. The areas of focus include:
- Chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes
- Medical evaluations and routine tests like X-rays and general checkups
- General eye care
- General care for women
Choosing between family physicians and pediatricians
While both family doctors and pediatricians are qualified to treat children, certain factors may play a key role in determining which one you should pick:
- Family doctors can treat every member of the family, saving you multiple trips to doctors’ offices. Family doctors complete their residencies in several medical fields, including pediatrics. This makes them qualified to care for patients of all gender and age.
- Pediatricians are also primary care doctors who specialize in managing the overall well-being of children. They complete three years of a pediatric residency. As their main focus is children’s health, they can be better equipped to deal with kids. The only drawback could be that the patient would have to change their healthcare provider by the age of 18.
Other factors that could affect your decision include convenient location, finding doctors that accept your insurance and choosing a doctor based on availability.
