I spent the last few years in the Middle East with no dental care. I knew I needed some work done when I came back to the US but it took me ten months to finally get the courage to pick a dental place due to embarrassment and fear of dentists (who's not afraid of dentists?). After browsing through ZocDoc and other online reviews thoroughly (I mean really really thoroughly), I finally decided on Dr. Truvan. I had my first appointment this morning and it was seriously the best experience I've ever had in a medical/dental setting combined. First off, Gina at the front desk was easy to talk to and was great at making a personal connection. The dental assistant, Dulce, was very sweet just like her name. She and I talked as if we already knew each other and was very kind and personable. Now, Dr. Truvan, he's the man. He performed an extremely thorough examination of my gum with very curious looking high-tech equipments and took some photos of my teeth to show me later. Dental cleaning was gentle and he explained everything as we went on. He did not make me feel embarrassed at all about not having dental care for the past few years. After the cleaning, we went into a separate room to look at the photos of my teeth and discuss the plan. He explained everything again in a language easy to understand. Gina then printed out a copy of the plan and an estimate for future visits according to the plan Dr. Truvan and I agreed upon. I walked out with a goodie bag of cool dental stuff as well, which is a nice final touch. Sometimes ZocDoc reviews are a bit off and inaccurate. But trust me on this one, Dr. Truvan and his team really do deserve a five star.
