I usually see Dr. McCune, but because of my work schedule I saw Dr. Ghatan. I was pleasantly surprised, because she has a very sweet demeanor and answered all my questions, making me feel reassured!
Dr. Rutland was the first OB/GYN I have seen (and I have been through three at this point) that actually LISTENED to what I had to say and my ideas for my treatment and birth control options moving forward. She's fully supportive of my choices of trying to leave hormones out of my health equation and very informative of all of my choices. She's just like talking to a friendly, insanely smart friend! I'm so happy I have finally found what feels like is my OB/GYN.
Dr. McKune was very thorough in discussing things. You won't feel any hesitation to tell her and to ask her anything. She makes you feel welcome as soon as she steps in. Very professional.
What is an ob/gyn?
An Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OBGYN) is a doctor who specializes in everything related to women’s reproductive health, including pregnancy and childbirth. OBGYNs screen for certain diseases such as breast cancer and cervical cancer. They also diagnose and treat women’s reproductive health issues including sexually transmitted infections (STIs), menstrual issues, abnormal bleeding, polycystic ovarian syndrome, fertility, and more. Some OBGYNs specialize in maternal-fetal medicine, which means they treat and monitor pregnant women and their babies. They also perform deliveries and c-sections.
