Well organized office and works hard to get to the patient as soon as possible. Uses all new technology to make your life easier and always on top of everything about your appointment. Couldn't have been any better or smoother. Love it!
Dr. Mier-Trotter was fine, but the office itself is typically crowded and uncomfortable (not what I expected for some reason) and it took me a month to get an itemized receipt even after requesting it 1) in person at my first appointment (they said to remind them when i pick up my glasses), 2) in person when I picked up my glasses (and contacts (they said they were about to leave but they would send in the morning. just call to remind), 3) by phone when i called to give them my address the next morning, 4) by phone again when i called them because it had been over a week and half and nothing in the mail (they said oh we didn't send it. they asked for my email and i gave it to them) 5) by phone AGAIN a couple days later because they still hadn't sent it (they finally did email it, over 24 hours after this call). i get being busy and all but really? overall summary - great doctors (dr. mier-trotter herself was good as well as the doctor i saw before she came in, whose name escapes me but i do know he is the one who also practiced in Vegas for a bit), not fantastic staff (one of the female receptionists is fairly good though, wish i could remember her name).
Dr. Hammer was very courteous and attentive. He seemed to actually listen to what I had to say and didn't talk to me like I was an idiot. He clearly and concisely communicated with me and was very helpful. I did not feel rushed in any way. However, the wait time to see him was rather long (about 40 minutes counting the time the tech was with me doing some diagnostic tests). I'm going to chalk it up to him taking the time to listen to every one of his patients and make sure he has helped them as much as he can before he moves on to his next patient.
The bad news was I developed cataracts. The good news was I developed cataracts. Dr. Yin removed my cataracts and implanted intraocular lens' in both of my eyes this year. It was a life changing event. A near sighted youth, I had been wearing coke bottle-like lenses since high school. I now see better than 20-20 in both eyes. Occasionally to read small print in low light, I may use 1.25 readers I bought at Costco. The distance vision is more precise and consistent than any contact lens could provide. I'm seeing and hitting tennis balls and softballs better than I've hit them in sixty years. Six months after the procedure, I'm still in awe of seeing the most mundane sights and routine scenes that have eluded me for years. To not worry about losing or breaking my glasses that have been gouging my nose for all these years is pure joy. And Dr. Yin seems almost as excited about my new vision as I am. She's an absolute delight.
