Staff was effecent at check in, x rays followed intake and after that I saw the doctor in less than 15 minutes. The doctor examined my injury, and ordered an MRI for a future visit. Dr. Postma is one not to rush into surgery and provided several as alternatives to treat my injury.
Lofti came recommended by my primary care doc. I swore this place off so I went around the beltway looking for a good doc. I eventually relented and gave this place a second chance after a crappy experience with Press. I really like this guy. He is personable, considerate, engaging. Great bedside manner. He wants you to understand what's going on with your body. He's never on time. Ever. If you have a 3 PM appointment, expect him at 4 PM. I just bring me some magazines or work to do, as I wait. How I see it? I'd rather wait for a guy who takes his time than get the guy who's running out and leaves me feeling like I'm just throwing money out of the window for nothing. Lofti gives me that old world doctor charm. Like the doctor on Little House and the Prairie who visits their patients at home. He's awesome. Why the minus? His staff sucks. They charged my insurance $3,000 for a back brace that retailed for $75 on Amazon. Nurses at Potomac Hospital said they're infamous for this. One of his Medical Assistants, Sabrina, is LAZY (all caps). His PA is nice and knowledgeable even, but he's very much a PA. Inexperienced. Once I made an appointment with Lofti and got the PA without any pre-warning. Their entire team is subpar. You have to manage them from behind, and stay on top of what you need. If Lofti left and branched off on his own with a new support cast, I would be here for it. If he decided to no longer take insurance, I would pay him out of pocket whatever he charged. The others? They're not worth a $20 co-pay. The only reason why this update has 2 stars and not 1 is because of Dr. Lofti.
Dr. Delahay serves in a Medstar hospital. I filled out the documents and questions here in Zocdoc, but still had to refill those forms at Georgetown Medstar. It's a nuisance, but perhaps not a reflection on him. He was very kind and the med student doing rotations under Dr. D. was also great company and down to Earth. I would definitely consider seeing them again, although I don't really appreciate the waste of time in filling out those forms. If my second visit requires more forms, I'm definitely not coming back.
I’m not sold on this. I needed some labwork to confirm the extent of my diagnosis, and his staff technician wasted a week just to get prior authorisation for it. I ended up having to go to the lab, retrieve my records, and ask the lab to get the authorisation. They’re understaffed and take forever to do things. I proceeded with the remainder of the process with a different provider who goes faster.
I have been very frustrated by my old orthopedist with the lack of action and the 'wait and see' method. I broke my ankle December of 2016 and the bone has not healed. I waited too long but on the first visit to Dr. Cooper we have a plan of action, which doesn't include waiting to see. I am excited to be working with a doctor that is competent and ready for action.
The reason I had to wait more than an hour was because the dr's office (Georgetown Medstar) had no record of my appt nor any of the paperwork I filled out. This, after I received two confirmation texts from ZocDoc this morning reminding me about the appt and confirming my paperwork had been sent. Quite the disconnect!
