Dr. Powerman was excellent! She was friendly and helped put me at ease. She was efficient and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend her but not the office which I saw her at. I arrived at 8:20am for my 9am appointment and told the receptionist I was there for the podiatrist Dr. Powerman, she told me I'm so early and just have a seat. At 9:05 she told me to go downstairs because her office is in the basement. I was surprised that she waited until after my appointment to give me that information! The receptionist downstairs told me she had no record of me. I told her it's my first time seeing Dr. Powerman. She sent me back upstairs to the other receptionist. I went up there and she blamed me and said "You didn't say it was your first time!" which was extremely rude. I told her "I was here before 8:30am and told you who I had an appointment with." She should have asked if there was any other information she wanted or she should at the least have checked on my appointment... I believe that's her job. I'm not in a position to know all the information they may want. I filled out paperwork and then as she checked me in the system she shouted out with plenty of people in the waiting area for my birthday and other private information which was extremely unprofessional. After checking the system she learned that I had been to the office before. She then rudely shouts out "you have been here before!" and I said "yes, I never said I hadn't been to the office... I told the other lady it was my first time seeing Dr. Powerman." She rolled her eyes and starting mubling in Russian to the other receptionists. She told me I should go back downstairs. I was furious at this point! She walked down and told me they don't have a record of an appointment for me and asked how I booked it. I told her on zocdoc weeks ago and I called their office and the receptionist confirmed over the phone for me and zocdoc sent me a doctor confirmation of my appointment. She told me not to book appointmentso on zocdoc and to just call the office direct. I thought that was strange since I basically did both and can't imagine what else I could have done otherwise. I asked if that means I don't have an appointment and she said the doctor will still fit me in. I went sat down and around 10am checked in as to when I could see the doctor and was told 10:30... 2 hours after I arrived. Anyway, the doc made it worthwhile which was no easy task as I was in a pretty bad mood. They also had not given her a copy of my x-ray which she had to track down. The doc was great and it turns out she also works out of a much nicer office in the city. This Brooklyn office was terrible and there's a huge language barrier if you don't speak Russian. Anyway, after my doctor visit I left smiling and content. I went back up to the original rude lazy receptionist and apologized for the confusion. I already had talked to zocdoc about the incident and I told her I notified them of the problem with the system. I told her was sorry about the miscommunication because I am sure I had an attitude with her after she blamed me. I don't like ruining anyone's day and I like to make things right. She told me it was fine and actually she's sorry about the whole thing and zocdoc already called her and straightened everything out. I thought that was nice of her to say. I also thought zocdoc has amazing customer service! Zocdoc called me right away after I texted them that there was a problem and we're so nice and supportive. I love zocdoc and will always book through themy from now on!
