My appointment with Dr Loor was wonderful. Normally I don't write long reviews because of the time conception rather I rate the quality of the provided services on the scale of 1 to 5 stars, which I find very fast and convenient. But not in this case. Rating Dr Loor's provided services with five stars is not enough! Especially, considering the time he spent with me explaining my condition, potential and real causes for it, and my treatment options which I found- extraordinary. He started with thorough examination of my feet. Because of my passion to wearing fancy shoes and being a runner at the same time I already have some painful conditions such as bunions, hammer toes and plantar fasciitis at the age of 30. All this in combination causes a lot of pain. Doctor Loor took his time listening to my foot pain complains making me feel very comfortable sharing with him all my concerns about my feet including the ones that I normally don't address to the doctor such as excess sweating and the smell it may give to my feet from time to time. He in details explained the anatomy of my feet and my bone structure, and actually draw a quick picture of what was going on with my toe joints, bones and ligaments when I wore high heel shoes or running sneakers. He gave me many advises on how to reduce the pressure from these areas and how to relieve the tension after hours of wearing fancy shoes or running. It was a fascinating conversation, I have learned more about my feet than I had ever before. After he finished explaining the causes for my pain he asked wether I had any secondary complains such as itchiness or excess sweating. Here I couldn't resist and spilled out how uncomfortable I feel when my feet smell especially after running. Even though I don't have any visual signs of fungus this problem bothered me for years. I have tried all the topical otc products that I could only find in the CVS or online. I was offered few times to try oral anti-fungal medications to treat this condition but because of my anxiety swallowing tablets and its potential side effects I didn't consider this therapy in the past. So I kind of got used to this uncomfortable and annoying fact about my body and would focus on buying shoe deodorants and changing my running sneakers after couple of months. All this was pricy and never gave me proper releif. After I shared this with Doctor Loor he smiled and convinced me that all this is treatable even with topical compounded therapy if I didn't feel comfortable taking pills or tablets. I left his office with pair of orthotics, set up plan for physical therapy, few prescriptions for topical compounded medications for both pain and athletes foot, vitamins and more than that full of hope to improve my condition still wearing my fancy shoes and not giving up on running. As he explained, my condition may be improved with the supporting therapy but not treated completely. We agreed to start conservatively and if the pain progresses I may come back for a steroid injection or a surgery to fix the affected bone structure. He built my trust by describing my treatment options and making the suggestions without scarring me even when he talked about the possible surgery in the future. I have dealt with many doctors in the past including different specialties in many countries but no one ever made me feel so comfortable and full of hope for a success in therapy ever before. I wish all my doctors were like Dr Loor. I highly recommend him to everybody for his expertise and bedside manners!
