In 1981, the Dominican Medical Center opened its doors to the community service of Washington Heights. The Hispanic community was in need of a health service
where they felt confident in the treatment of their diseases and with the certainty that their language would be understood by their doctor. Since its inception, this health center has had only one purpose - to serve the Hispanic community in the care of their health, thus understanding the need in the multicultural and bilingual environment, thus taking position of the building that previously belonged to Wadsworth Hospital, El Centro Medico Dominican Republic accepted the challenge of health plans and services to the community of Washington Heights with a competent tradition.
We are now pleased to be able to office services now in two locations with our dermatologic services only at our midtown location.
