Dr. Gary Brauner is presently an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in NYC and is Chief of the Department of Dermatology at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in Englewood NJ, a Mount Sinai medical affiliate. He was born and raised in Connecticut, graduating valedictorian from Andrew Warde High School. He matriculated at Yale College as a Yale National Scholar for four years graduating magna cum laude in Mathematics and Philosophy Honors in 1963. He received his MD from Harvard University in 1967 and then interned in medicine from 1967-68 at The Jewish Hospital of St Louis ( Missouri) and Washington Univ. School of Medicine. He completed his residency in dermatology at Harvard at the Massachusetts General Hosp. from 1968-1971 where he was chief resident. The first NYC dermatologist to use lasers he is also a noted expert on skin of color.
