Dr. Mech takes an integrated, holistic approach to treating his patients. In his words: the mind and body are "Echad" (one in Hebrew). He understands that in the field of neuropsychiatry, there is significant interplay between the body and the mind. His treatment integrates brain-based considerations and plans for a "Patient-Centered Approach." He carefully examines underlying factors which may be contributing to presenting symptoms; these factors include assessment of vitamin and other neurotransmitter co-factors, hormone levels, studies of sleep architecture, ambulatory EEGs and genetic testing. This individualized approach to treatment supports the brain and overall wellness throughout the life span. Diversity is both biological (hardware) and psychological (software) which means everyone is different, therefore treatment needs to be as unique as each person receiving care.
