Practice Statement

Psychotherapy requires a safe, compassionate space in which to engage current issues, along with difficulties of the past, limitations, fears and, at times, deep personal shame and trauma. Our work begins with establishing trust on which to build a therapeutic relationship that promotes exploration, confrontation, understanding, healing, grieving, emotional growth and the courageous task of launching new behaviors and letting go of self-defeating defenses (addictions, compulsions, conceits and false gods/goddesses). The goal is for you to love, work, play and live life more fully and spontaneously: to be more present to yourself, to others and to your life.
