Hello. I'm Vincent F. Macaluso MD and I am an adult neurologist. I specialize in multiple sclerosis because I have had multiple sclerosis since I was 19 years old. I learned early on that people, when I told them that I had multiple sclerosis, would say "But you look so good!" Unfortunately, I felt miserable inside but I did not want to complain.
Happily, the infusion medications for MS came out and I felt better. Because of that, I decided to set up an infusion suite in my office to give IV multiple sclerosis medications to my patients. Aside from getting the most effective medications for slowing down MS, many share their experiences with others who are also getting infused. Others read or listen to music during their infusion time.
Since everyone is unique, I have patients on other non-infusion disease modifying treatments because that is what fits into their lives the best!
In the end, the most important part for me is knowing that I am helping my to slow down their MS until, hopefully, we have a cure!
