Excellent doctor. He treated an ongoing problem that was making me miserable. He was understanding about my needs to get back to training for a marathon. He ordered an ultrasound to rule out anything serious. He prescribed medication that quickly cleared up the problem, and I saw him again for a follow-up to make sure everything was clear and that I could get back to my active lifestyle. I see some reviews that mention his bedside manner isn't good, but he is just concise and to the point. He's a man of few words but he gets the diagnosis right and he's a competent and caring doctor. The office was pretty efficient, you move from 1 thing to another. I checked in, got there early and was taken in early. Afterwards I got my vitals and EKG done with medical assistant, that went quickly. Then I had my visit with Dr Peters- only took a few minutes, didn't say much but I was there just for a routine physical. Then went upstairs to do bloodwork. Mel is great! The office however, isn’t very helpful. They won’t give you any of your own personal health results without visiting the office for another visit which incurs additional costs not covered by insurance. Most of the tests run during a physical aren’t covered by insurance (which isn’t clear beforehand) so I got a very surprising bill from insurance. Mel is fabulous, but the way the office is run can definitely improve so beware and make sure you ask in advance about what will be included in a physical and if your insurance covers any of it. …read more
