My wife had hernia mesh complications since they put it in 2008 and it got much worse lately when it start bleeding in the mesh area, no dr could help or even acknowledge it could be th mesh and make her feels its just in her head! Wasted money and time and putting her down. Until we found dr Brian Jacob! We drove 8 hours to meet him and god it worth everything min, th staff was so friendly and thy ralked to us on a personal level. Dr read her history and reports carefully word by word and spent more than an hour then he said its th mesh! It need to come out!! We scheduled surgery to remove that mesh in a month! So happy that we found help

Dr. Finnerty was my surgeon for a gallbladder and hernia surgery. Starting with Dr. Egan (resident) who visited me in the ER and made me laugh and feel comfortable when I received the news that I needed surgery, his entire team was outstanding. Dr. Finnerty is not only is talented medically, he showed genuine care and concern for both me and my family. He drew pictures to explain what would happen, he patiently answered and clearly explained every question I had, and took extra time to do a difficult surgery because of my anatomy. He spent the time necessary with my mother and sister (a nurse) after the surgery, when he could have sent a member of his staff to do so. What was extraordinary was that he knew that I was nervous about the surgery and he came to my room and personally walked me down to the ER. Once there, the Senior Residents allowed me to sign into Pandora on the computer in the operating room and listen to whatever music I wanted until I fell asleep. They created a warm and 'fun' environment. It did not feel like I was about to have surgery. Instead I felt like I was with friends. Post surgery, I have had no complications and my scars are barely noticeable only a few days later. My experience was so positive that I plan to switch all my medical care to NYP Cornell.

Very surgery oriented. I wanted to explore other alternatives. Having an organ removed and saying “it’s small you won’t miss it” is not quite professional in my opinion and not relevant either.
