Dr. Harden herself was great. She was patient and she really was thorough. My ophthalmologist called her with an urgent matter and she called me herself to schedule. If she has any other locations I’d see her there because the 14th street location is horrible. (Has no reflection on the doctor herself.) Dr. Harden sent me for an MRI and a CTA. I needed prior authorization for the CTA and a member of her staff, named Jennifer, told NYU that she didn’t have the time to do it. When I called my insurance I was told they were waiting for a fax from them and that they had started the prior authorization 1 hour before I called. Absolutely ridiculous. As I work for a doctor I know that PA’s need to be done at least 2 days in advance because insurance can take time to approve or deny. Then when I called the office to speak to Jennifer she caught an attitude yelled “oh my god” and slammed down the phone. Another staff member helped me and completed my prior authorization although I still had to reschedule my CTA. I’ve had the results from NYU for a week and still waiting for someone to review the results. But don’t call the office. They don’t answer and their voicemail is full. Dr. Coghill and her staff were extremely kind and listened to me in key ways other medical professionals have failed - namely believing me when I said my veins are small & roll. I can count on one hand the number of times a nurse hit my vein on the first try, so I appreciated that. They didn't rush me out of the room, but they did skip explaining certain things unless I asked. For example, one nurse had be do a standard breathing test, then said she wanted to try what turned out to just be a saline solution dispensed like a humidifier, but I had to ask her what it was through two different questions. There were a lot of patients and the facilities were quite small. I think this just meant the staff didn't have time to be thorough. It also meant that I waited for an hour. This hour was broken up in two segments. Normal 10-15min before I saw the nurse for preliminary questions and breathing test. Then 40ish min before I saw the doctor. I wanna say the staff was great enough to wait for, but I hate being in a medical setting. So sitting for 40min in a narrow hallway with people rushing back and forth when I'm there for treatment is just too stressful. I'll finish out my current treatment & testing with them, but I'll have to search for another PCP. …read more
