His 74th St. office’s waiting area is a bit wild and plays the worst TV in existence (something called Page Six TV which is the a perfect chemical formulation of worst of CNN, TLC, TMZ, and HSN—all, somehow, proudly inspired by British tabloids). So bring good headphones. Once you’re with Samah though, he’ll quickly tell you what you need to know without patronizing you. Also incredibly willing to do what he can to get medical records on your behalf. Samah quickly gets a handle on how much you already know and adapts his language accordingly. Dr Carter and Afriqiyah (as well as the entire support staff) have been amazing in their treatment of me. I feel like I am in very capable hands with her and her group. I love that Dr Carter is interested in many different kinds of therapy, from meditation, to trigger point injections, to supplements. I love that she really listens to me and my symptoms, and is willing to try different therapies. And I most especially love how she convinced me to keep on trying, even through the depression I'd developed from so many years of misdiagnosis dead-ends, increasingly poor health, and decreased mobility. The reception area is well kept. The receptionists were cordial. I wish the check-in system was more integrated with ZocDoc to retrieve appropriate responses for their paperwork. The doc was professional - and seems to hit the diagnosis spot on once we got down to business. I don't think I receive sufficient explanation for a first-time visit. However, the recommendations were sound and fell within my expectations. I was given a referral for PT and an expectation for a follow-up visit a month from this visit.
