It was my first visit, I did not had to wait long time. She listens and care about her patients, very friendly. Always asking questions if I have any other concerns. Besides the routine check-up she also ordered an EKG to see how my heart was doing, no other doctors ever done that with me. Through app I was able to get an appointment right away in few days, and when I call the clinic they sent me the application online. I think is great that way I did not had to wait too long filling out paperwork while waiting.
Came in for a pre-op. Very professional from reception onward. I got my prescriptions refilled, my EKG, and was completely done within 45minutes from arrival and this was my first visit. Sr. Saltzman recommended that I do my annual check up in a month because it is free with my insurance and I haven’t done one this year. The office is very clean and I had a great experience. No surprises with NY State of Health, HealthFirst insurance.
I've had such poor experiences with primary care physicians in the city, but I'm relieved to report that I've finally found one I'm excited to stick with! Dr Saltzman is so thorough and spent way more time with me than expected. Her staff is wonderful had no problem drawing my blood (usually doctors complain I have small veins). Highly recommend! She's one of the higher quality doctors on here listed under healthfirst.
Very thorough. Designed treatment plan after taking my medical history.
what a welcoming staff & environment! I was able to pre-register online before I arrived & pretty much saw the doctor as soon as I signed in. Dr. Saltzman was kind & attentive & was thorough in my exam. All in all a refreshing experience in a time when you usually have to wait long for an impersonal experience in many other doctors offices. Its was much more relaxing here.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Throughout the visit, the primary concern for the staff and doctor was my reasons for coming in and to ensure they addressed them.
It was my first time visiting her and she was great. It seemed like she had a very well coordinated staff.
Would not recommend this doctor or the midtown health and wellness center. Barely got the time to interact wth the doctor. She was careless and had very little attention to detail. I wondered to myself several times how she hadnt lost her license by now. I saw her twice and she never even concluded the brief 2 minute conversations. Instead she'd just leave the room. The receptionists are also very disorganized. Really quite shocked and disappointed that one could find such low quality care in new york city.
Didnt examim and just want to talk about next vist, when the plan wouldnt cover and payment woukd need to be done.
I should have read the reviews on this doctor before I saw her. I just decided to go with her because she was close to my job. First off, the medical assistant was completely unprofessional and if I wanted to be harsh- uneducated. I understand these people are still in school and are still learning, but not only is professionalism common sense, but i'm pretty sure it was mentioned in most of your classes. Someone who mentions he decided he wanted to be in the medical field when he "saved a girl on the street that was passed out with her TOTO'S OUT"- no, you should not be in medicine if that is how you want to refer to a female. Furthermore, I had an ECG done on me- not my first. However, when a male is performing this, there should be a female in the room and was there a female? Nope, there wasn't. Finally meet Dr. Saltzman, she did not want to give me medication for my severe sinus infection because I told her Amox doesn't work that well anymore. She tried to get me to buy a herbal solution. Like no, that is not why i'm here. If I believed in that or wanted that, I would easily have bought that at a herbal store. The number one thing that has motivated me to write my first review about a doctor is that IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN A MONTH and I have called TWICE about my lab results and emailed. Nothing. I heard nothing. I got a letter in the mail explaining the bill to me, it said I have to pay out of pocket if a claim doesn't get approved. I'm sorry, last I checked you were in network? Why do I have to pay an out of network cost for a physical??????? She is seriously looking for a lawsuit- if not from me, from someone else.
I really love Dr. Saltzman's support staff. They are lovely people. I went to see Dr. Saltzman because I wanted a PCP who is integrative, and Dr. Saltzman has provided me with supplements which are helpful and offered nutritional counseling. I guess I long for the days when doctors really seemed to want to know their patients and seemed to have an idea of how to connect with them. I feel like Dr. Saltzman's constant reminders that she will charge her clients if they do not show up for their appointments is off-putting. I feel like I was blamed for having gained weight when weight gain is both a symptom of my disease and is also a side effect oft the medication that I'm on. I feel like a lot of victim blaming happened in my first couple of visits with her, which were when I was initially diagnosed with Graves-- I was given the impression that every thing from my high blood pressure to my weight gain were MY fault when they were/are actually a result of the Graves. I absolutely can't believe the level of guilt and self-hatred that I internalized from those two visits before I became angry enough to give verbal feedback about my experience. I don't think that my feedback here is going to result in any kind of change-- it is clear that medical professionals in NY are compensated well for sub-par acknowledgement of their patients as human beings. Still, it is extra disappointing coming from a professional who self-identifies as integrative.
Oveepriced ... ended uo just being a visit
Efficient, Convenient Location, Great Staff!
The first visit was amazing. I thought I finally found my Doctor. However, each visit went downhill.
Not professional. Desk staff is pleasant and helpful but doctor sent my lab results to an out-of-network lab despite covering my insurance. Now, I owe a lot of money for routine testing. Wait time was bad. Google Search told me more than the doctor did. Do not see this doctor if you care about your health.
I went to Dr. Saltzman for my annual pap. The office asked me to fill out an extensive health history (in addition to what you do on zocdoc- it took me about 20 min to complete). In about a total of 5 minutes, dr.salzman walked in, did my paps and breast exam, and walked out, without even asking me if I had any questions, nor engaging me with anything that I wrote about in my heath history. It was a very strange visit, and I felt disappointed by the care.
My experience with Dr. Saltzman is below 1 star. Luis examined me and he was absolutely wonderful and sweet. Saltzman came in looked at me and said "you're fine" and walked right out. i had to yell out to her to let her know i needed a prescription! she came back scribbled a name and left saying she would call me back with my lab results. of course, she never called me back. i got a FINAL WARNING bill 3.5 months later saying i owed a hefty amount, which then i was told when i called that there was no balance. that bill now went into collections and its turns out it was because they never processed my insurance information (even though they're telling me I filled it out incorrectly... thats the point of handing over my insurance card... so that they can verify) and I was "paying out of pocket". my insurance should have covered this visit! Aside from their awful system, and the doctors lack of edicate, the front desk people are LOVELY, helpful and super patient with my frustration. they showed compassion and will hopefully sort out this bill since it should have been covered by insurance.
I left my visit with Dr. Saltzman, or rather I should say my visit with the medical assistant Luis, feeling great. Luis was professional and kind. I saw Dr. Saltzman for all of 5 minutes at the end of my appointment which unfortunately was a clear indication of how available she would be to me in the future. I had the hardest time getting a hold of Dr. Saltzman for lab results. On more than one occasion I was told Dr. Saltzman would be contacting me with the results but she did not. Ultimately they were provided by Luis. When I reached out with questions over questionable results, I was told I would need to talk to the doctor as expected but I still cannot get a hold of her. I have called and emailed to no avail. This is very concerning. If you want to be seen in and out with no follow up, this is the place for you. If you want a doctor who cares to follow up on serious matters, go elsewhere.
Dr Satlzman was professional and attentive
I spent more time with the nurse than the actual doctor and I was a new patient. That’s never a good sign.
First visit went fine, but at 2nd visit (only 2-weeks later) the Dr was distracted, would not give me my blood test results in person, and did not remember who I was. Also, the receptionists/assisants at the front desk could not figure out my insurance information even though I had already been to that office 2 weeks prior. Then this office (which is an in-network office for my insurance), sent my annual check up blood test to an out-of-network lab. This kind of service is unacceptable. I am still looking for a halfway decent general doctor. There seem to be none in NYC.
Dr. Saltzman was great-- I am VERY picky about my medical care and I've been trying to find a primary care physician for several years now since moving to New York. It's an hour train ride for me to get to midtown, but it is worth it to see a doctor who takes me seriously and is willing to advocate for me when I need it.
I came in for the lack of sleep due to severe back pain. My first very brief appointment manifested into two more appointments. One for acupuncture, the other a physical. The acupuncture was a waste of time and money. It did not work and she admitted to me that she was focusing on my upper back, even though my lower back was the problem. At my physical, I was given two more appointments. At no time did she address the reason for my visit. It seems all she wants is for me to make as many appointments as possible, get me in and out as quickly as she can. Addressing my problems and listening to me was not a priority.
I came to see her because I was sick/fatigued and had been for quite sometime. Once we figured out the cause on my second visit she spent 5 mins telling me how dreadfully sick I was and to get some vitamins. When I asked for a brand suggestion, or advice in choosing of the vitamins she shrugged and told me I’d have to figure that out. When I tried to get details on my health she chastised me for not listening and left the room with out any signal the visit was over. I had to go to the front desk to ask if we were done.
Staff not professional and billing is completely messed up with this doctor. Just got a massive bill with no prior warning and no reasoning despite have full insurance with this doctor.
Dr. S is a great doc! Went in for a physical and she really took her time with me. Going back for a Pap test next week and acupuncture. She's a one stop shop!
I've been coming to Dr. Saltzman for 3 years now and have always had a great experience. I was referred here by a close friend, and I recommend all my friends to her now. Dr. Saltzman is a well-informed and very competent doctor. I come here with all my primary care as well as women's health concerns. Recently I began acupuncture for smoking cessation, and I was able to quit entirely. Dr. Saltzman's care has always been very thorough, and her attention to detail and personal investment in her patients' well-being is why I continue to come to her. Additionally they cover all the bases for what you want in a doctor's office.
The wait took way longer than expected and front desk staff was very unorganized. I unfortunately have to go back and it was difficult making a new appointment.
Professional and very easy to talk to
Do not go see this "doctor" unless you want to be given herbs. I came in with a persistent cold and possible infection. She refused to give me a prescription and instead tried to up-sell me twice on products for sale in her office. Umm NO. At NO point in the exam did the "doctor" even give me an actual exam- didn't listen to my lungs or look in my ears/nose/throat. There was no treatment of any kind given!!!! Never will I be returning...
Really great. Much better than the visit I had with another doctor down the street. Her staff was amazing and friendly.
Dr. Saltzman failed to provide me with any answers. Coming into the office with two problems, the only help she provided with me was for a minor rash. She completely disregarded the main problems and ignored my symptoms. Upon leaving my appointment, I am feeling even worse.
I had the worst experience with this office.I never give negative reviews but this woman cannot continue her unprofessional care. I first went in September of 2016 for my annual check up and the only thing that happened was my blood getting drawn. Then I finally went for my physical another day, mentioning my stomach pains, she said it was nothing. She also conducted my annual pap smear, where I again mentioned my stomach pain and cramps, where she once again said its all normal. I went for acupuncture for the my stomach discomfort and waited for 30 minutes to get into a room and then left in there for over an hour, where I just took the needles out myself and left. I then did allergy testing thinking maybe I am allergic to something, and that took forever. Finally after months of waiting for my results, calling and emailing I finally went in to get a copy of my lab results for everything, of course because they are so smart they messed up my lab work and I had to draw my blood again to redo the testing. Her own staff members think she's an disorganized. I finally visited a real doctor and came to find out I needed surgery to remove fifteen fibrosis and it was the cause of all my symptoms. This is after months of listening to non-sense from Saltzman. If she would have recommended a specialist and not say it was in my head six month ago, maybe I wouldn't need a big scar across my stomach from surgery now. Learn from my mistake, if you care for your life you will not go to this woman.
I've seen Dr Saltzman 5 or 6 times over the last 2 years, mostly because I'm too lazy to change doctors. Each time I say I'm going to come home and write a negative review, but today's the first time it was bad enough that I'm actually doing it. I checked in at the end of the day for an injection I needed, and waited 10 minutes, and heard Dr S yell at her receptionist "this is the last patient, right?" followed by something about needing to get to some kind of personal appointment. Then I was called up to the desk to pay for my copay, and while I was waiting, she came up to me with a syringe and said we could do my shot right here because there was no one around. That's bad enough, but there were actually two people in the waiting room that I think were waiting on her for this personal "appointment." I told her I wanted to ask her something and would rather go into a room, and she turned and walked away from me, saying as she was walking "well it needs to be fast - you're the one that was late." Her receptionist corrected her - I was in fact on time - and so she decided it was ok to take me into a room and shut the door so that I could ask her my question. I had a legitimate request for information about Adderall, and wanted to know what she thought - she totally snapped at me when I asked and said "I'm not giving you Adderall." I totally felt like a drug addict criminal, and I've never had Adderall before. She then told me I didn't need a band-aid after my shot because these shots don't make you bleed, and as I began to bleed, I had to show her and ask two times for a band-aid. To which she responded, yeah, I guess you're weird since you're bleeding. This is really representative of all of my interactions with her - it was just heightened enough today to make me realize I can't go back. And I would have been grateful if others had written reviews like this. And this has nothing to do with the many hours I spent fighting the $100 cancellation fee that I was charged after I cancelled an appointment with enough notice over email, that was sent to collections as I was fighting it. Now they won't see me unless they have my card on file and I signed something saying they could charge me whatever they needed to for my appointment without my authorization. I think this place is a horrible racket, or if not, it certainly feels like it. I've never felt so devalued at a doctor's office, and it's happened over and over.
Dr. Saltzman and her staff are kind, straightforward, and efficient. I enjoyed my visit very much.
Office appeared clean, receptionists were respectful. However, the doctor was incredibly impersonal. It was my first visit, she walked in and didn't even introduce herself. She proceeded with the exam asking had 'anything changed?' like we had known each other for years. She asked no other questions and when the exam was over walked out, only saying 'you're done'. She left before any questions could be asked and just the whole thing was incredibly rude. Overall she spent less than 5 minutes with me and the whole time I felt like a huge inconvenience to her. Would definitely recommend looking elsewhere for a doctor.
She moved quickly, her hands were cold and even though I made the appointment specifically to get an IUD she refused the procedure, stating she couldn't do it and then force a birth control pill prescription on me.
Perfect visit! The entire staff was warm and welcoming and made me feel so comfortable. Dr. Saltzman immediately made me feel comfortable and asked questions so she made me feel like she cared for my concerns. Everything went well and I haven't gone to a doctor in a long time and was so nervous but all of the nerves stopped upon arrival.
She was extremely unprofessional and condescending. She spoke to me like I was incompetent. She blamed me and made me feel like I was doing everything wrong. When I tried to speak she kept cutting me off and wouldn't answer any of my questions. Very rude and angry she seemed miserable. I felt rushed and like she didn't care. Horrible twrrible worst doctor ever. ?Complete dissapointment with a huge attitude.
Awesome experience. Great hours.
She is absolutely terrific. Quick, friendly, great bedside manner and very down to earth. I'd recommend this office to anyone
I was just too lazy to find another practice, but now I am so regret. This is probably one of the worst, to my experience. I went there two consecutive years because it's close and convenient, and now finally decide not to go any more. \ The waiting time is long. I always chose a time close to end of the day (around 5pm). That's probably the busiest hour. Each time, I waited for more than 30 mins. The practise isn't so professional as well. The first annual exam, I had to come back and draw blood twice, because my blood sample was lost! The second annual exam, according to the staff, their operation has been improved. I specifically asked to get blood type info, which requires additional lab work here. And still, I didn't receive my blood type info. What's worse, as I decided to find another practise, I do want to obtain my previous lab results. It cost 4 months and 3 calls to have them email it to me. Not sure why it is so difficult. Last, I do want to remind folks who consider to go here to not eat/drink before doing blood work, because it will impact the lab results! Though your doctor may tell you the lab technology has improved so much to eliminate those noise. God knows how the lab tech can distinguish your blood sugar is always at this level or it's due to a brownie.
Very friendly & didn't feel rushed (although I was the 1st appointment of the day).
Dr Saltzman is one of the best and most thorough physician I have ever encountered. She made what is commonly an uncomfortable experience very quick and seamless. Her office staff is extremely friendly and professional. Looking forward to my next appointment!
This doctor was extremely rude and rushed in and rushed out without even pretending to care about the patient. Would never see her again.
I thought it was good. Quick, but not very in-depth (although to be fair I'm used to Midwest appointments and I wasn't sick). Everyone was super nice as well. One complaint would be that I set up an OBGYN appointment but because I take a medication outside of feminine care I have to set up an additional general appointment to deal with it. It was kind of frustrating that I couldn't deal with them all at once.
Dr. Saltzman and her staff were very friendly with a professional attitude and addressed my needs. I feeling I finally found my doctor.
Attentive and professional. Understood exactly what I needed and made the appropriate steps to get my problems solved! Very educated and personable.
I was rushed.
Dr. Salzman is a no-nonsense, tell it like it is medical professional. she is courteous, prompt and listens attentively. I would definitely go see her again and again and again and again.... kind of like a stalker but with a co-pay.
I will highly recommend the medical assistant she had great bedside manner. The doctor, however seemed less concerned with the issue that I came in for and just referred me to another doctor and acupuncturist. I was under the assumption that she performed acupuncture and she was having a conversation with me as she was leaving. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.
The best doctor in nyc !
she is the least profession doctor i have seen in NY. i would not reccommend her to my worst enemy.
Great nurse and doctor. Very professional office from top to bottom!
The office is quite calm in the morning and it was a short wait and an easy visit.
I did not see doctor Saltzman on this visit, however I saw Marvin. he was very polite and easy to talk to though and I felt comfortable during the ultrasounds.
I liked her. She asks questions and is quick but thorough. Some doctors seem like their head is in another place. So you don't feel like they're listening. She was focused on the visit, attentive, and very nice.
I went for a physical examination. The doctor doesn't really pay attention to the patients. She won't give me the result and asked me to come back at another visit, which she again charged me for but didn't really talk to me or provide any valuable suggestions. There are also some tests she conducted without notifying me but is not standard and covered by insurance. I also had to wait a long time cuz they multi-book patients.
worst experience of my life!
OK - So I went to this appointment with some trepidation after reading all the negative reviews, but I had a great experience. The front desk was organized (no drama like I read), and I was in and out in 30 minutes. Dr Saltzman is no fuss no muss - if your looking for chatty cathy, it's not her. I actually prefer that - but each to their own. I will definitely go back!
I made my appointment by phone last week and the receptionist told me May 1rst at 6:45 PM. When I arrive to the front desk, nobody knows about it. I wait one hour trying to see if the doctor Saltzman is going to see me but nothing happen. Make me loosing my time is very un-respectful. I will not come back.
Both times I've gone she forgets why I am there and I literally had to remind her everything. She made me make another appointment to get blood work done and then when I came to that appointment she thought I was there for a check up and literally filled my prescription and told me we were done and I told her I needed blood work. And she made me schedule ANOTHER appointment for that. She depends on you to tell her what's wrong instead of her figuring it out by being an actual DR. . Don't go to her if you want someone who actually knows how to run a doctors office.
The doctor only saw me for about 3 minutes, yelled at a nurse for misplacing a tool which she did not use at all, a technician was chatty and said very inappropriate things to me. I left without any conversation about or resolution to my complaint. very weird.
I came to this office because of the availability being so open (this should have been trigger #1) and the location being close to where I work. I've been going here for a little over a year, each time I think to myself: this is the last time. I just never took the time to look for another doctor because the time would come for another appointment and because of the convenience of the location I'd go ahead and trudge through another "appointment". I put "appointment" in quotations because the whole office is on hold until the good doctor is off of her personal phone calls or done eating her salad or whatever else may be taking up her attention at the moment. Prepare to 1. wait 2. be talked into taking an EKG (which good luck getting the results) or 3. pushed to try her FANTASTIC acupuncture. It makes no difference what you're there for, one of these procedures will undoubtedly be suggested to you. As far as physicals, sure, you'll get one. What you won't get are the results. She'll take your blood, or, more than likely, whatever PA didn't quit the week before and is running around frantically will take your blood (Another tip: be sure they don't leave it in the room, they tend to forget such things) However, none of this matters because you'll never get your results. Shame on me for going back as often as I did, but hopefully I can save someone else from wasting your money, time and sanity.
This was honestly the most positive physician experience I've had. Like, ever. Dr. Saltzman and her staff (Jonathan, Marvin?) were incredible and provided top-notch medical care. She answered all of my questions thoroughly and casually, and when I made an off-the-cuff complaint about a pain I was having, she immediately honed in and recommended an ultrasound, and it turned out my pain was a bigger deal than I thought. Her ultrasound tech stayed way late to see me, and both he and the medical assistant were super conversational and made the experience a comfortable, reassuring one. And when I was having concerns about the coverage of my insurance, they immediately brought up my membership ID and confirmed the treatment--in front of me. I've had so many bad experiences with doctors in this city, so this was a welcome relief. Highly recommend.
Really bizarre experience, went in and was seen by a nurse who proceeded to ask me if I was "allergic to any allergies". There was a hazardous materials bin overflowing with bloody needles. He then did an EKG without doing any vitals or any of the basic f(dropping equipment all over and awkwardly gave me a paper towel to cover my chest "if you don't want to expose yourself and stuff"). The doctor didn't make me feel any more comfortable, she was slurring her words, interrupting me continuously as I described my inability to breathe properly and just dismissed the whole case as "you're sick", didn't seem to want to delve further than that....
I felt so violated and upset after my first visit. The nursing staff were so unprofessional. The only sane person was the receptionist who seemed totally overwhelmed by the dysfunction of the office. I would highly recommend NOT going to Saltzman. I couldn't sleep the first night after going. I felt so unsafe, upset that I had given them my personal information, etc.
She and her assistants are very unprofessional. Don't trust what they say about the time. Don't go for her. Awful experience.
I've never written a zocdoc review - or even a yelp review - despite using both services for years now. I also haven't visited this "doctor" in quite some time, and for good reason. It occurred to me that other people might benefit from this WARNING: If you would like to avoid the most unprofessional, uncomfortable, inefficient and generally questionable “doctor's” environment, do not come here. I ended up using this office for basic prescriptions, purely out of laziness (close to work, didn’t want to deal w/ hassle of changing doctors) for far too long. Every time I left I swore I’d never go again and finally held myself to that. Dr. Saltzman’s ever-rotating front-desk staff (Whom she would speak poorly of behind their backs) was extremely rude, slow-moving, untrained and unprofessional. Dr. Saltzman herself-always in a rush- would spend no more than three minutes with me per visit, often leaving the door wide open, usually with other people’s vials of blood sitting on the counter (sounds crazy in retrospect)...during which time she would do two things, without fail: 1. Ask me when my last physical was, trying to upsell me on getting another in her office that day (read A LOT of this same feedback in other reviews) 2. Ask me if I was still taking the medication she had mistakenly listed on my chart from a YEAR prior…which I had never even taken before. Ever. Her PA was no better; truly the nail in the coffin of my never returning. She got major attitude with me after I mentioned I’d waited an hour for my appointment, commenting that I should be more patient and friendly, especially when doctors were doing me the favor of writing a prescription. She made me feel like a shady criminal for needing a basic medication. In preparing to change doctors I requested detailed bills for my visits which revealed that she was billing my insurance a different amount every time I came in…even though I came in for the EXACT same reason every, single, time - Prescription Refill. When I confronted the front desk about the issue, they became very squirrelly/evasive of the topic and promised they would correct it though they were fully incapable of explaining why it happened. In short, I truly cannot say enough bad things about this place. Blows my mind that it wasn’t shut down years ago, can’t believe I went as long as I did, scares me that a person like her can have a medical degree. Good luck.
The exam was quick and they were a bit understaffed, but the staff was super personable and Dr. Saltzman seemed very knowledgable and I'm excited to go back and create a health plan with the team!
Doc seemed over eager to run labs and was not the most sincere. Her staff wasn't much better and seemed to lack competency given the assistant didn't even get my name right. I couldn't say I'd be willing to see her again.
Dr. Saltzman is wonderful and I was thoroughly impressed by her but her receptionist is absolutely terrible. Not only was the receptionist rude and short with me (a patient!) but she was even listening to my health insurance-related information from my insurance provider on speakerphone for the entire office to hear. I have never dealt with a member of medical staff who was this unprofessional. This may affect my decision to see Dr. Saltzman again.
Dr. Saltzman is very nice, but her office staff is disorganized and difficult to work with. I went in for a physical, and had to call four times and email twice to get my test results. Additionally, when I booked the appointment, I asked if I could get a vaccination I needed while I was there. When I got to my appointment, I was told the office was out of the vaccine, and I could stop by another time to get it. When I called to find out when I could stop by, I was simply informed, "The office doesn't give vaccines anymore." Additionally, I got the feeling that the office was trying to "upsell" me on additional services, like acupuncture and a vision screening with an affiliate office, throughout my appointment. I was looking for a new primary care provider. I won't be choosing this office.
I would NEVER recommend this woman to anyone. In fact, I would like her to be reported. I went for an acupuncture consultation and booked my first one with her later that week. She was running 35 mins behind (this part didn't bother me, but if it's your lunch hour it could be a problem), I reminded her it was my first time. She began sticking me with needles, not explaining anything. I was laying on my tummy and had needles from the top of my head to mid calf. She said she is setting the timer for 25 mins. 30 mins go by, 35, 40... I call out "hello", no one comes. I figure I can slither off the table and poke my head out the door. I lift my head up and have searing pain run down my neck. My tears come uncontrollably and after another few minutes, I'm full on sobbing and calling for help. Someone in the waiting room alerted the front desk and the receptionist comes in and starts pulling out needles. No gloves, no hand sanitizer, just bare hands! This is the woman who greets everyone and takes paperwork, insurance cards, money, a million germs, etc.. Who is now taking out my needles and rubbing my skin with these same dirty hands! I felt incredibly light headed and ask for some water. After getting dressed and coming out, she hands me a Dixie cup of water. I ask what happened and where the dr is. Was told the timer must be broken (it's quite obvious the timer was never set) and the dr is with another patient and can't come see me. I left. While in the elevator, I found another needle in my head that was missed. The dr never called later that day or even thenext day to apologize. I left a message the week after, and still, no returned call.
Very sociable staff and they are extremely helpful when it comes to figuring out what is covered. They look out for your best interest when it comes to people that aren't very knowledgable about their insurance coverage.
Very professional, and very efficient
She's nice but her office lost my blood work and kept forgetting what I was there for. When I lost my insurance due to a layoff I was in my 90 day waiting period at my new job and I needed to speak to her on the phone. Her staff told me I needed to come in and I would be charged. When I asked if she would speak to me about symptoms I was having with a prescription she gave me, she didn't they directed me to go to an OB. That solidified my decision to no go back when my 90 days was over and I had insurance again. I still have the issues I walked in there with and with no diagnosis of what it is.
I had a throat infection since many days. The doctor did not find anything wring and just said that it will go on its own. I know it will eventually go on its own, but I visited the doctor because I wanted to be cured faster. However, the biggest point of irritation is when they sent me a threatening letter 3 months later to pay a small amount which is allegedly I owe them. I did not receive any bill, any previous or mails or a phone call before the threatening letter. never recommend this doctor to anyone
She talked me through the entire process and was very friendly!
The individuals that I met were polite and very helpful.
As always my appointment with Dr. Salzman was wonderful. The staff is accommodating and quick, and she is a pleasure. Always an easy and beneficial time.
I stopped going to her long ago, but have never had a worse doctor experience in my life, and feel like people should be looped in before booking. Total lack of attention, rude staff; given refills for medication I was never on in the first place. Office tries to constantly upsell you on checkups - including full bloodwork, physicals and gynecological exams...? - without asking when the last time you had it was.
Dr. Saltzman was extremely compassionate and understanding of my medical issues. She is the best Internist in NYC and I am completely satisfied with her diagnosis and recommended treatment. Book your appointment and make your life the best it can be.
Professional, knowledgeable ,sweet and the perfect Doctor !
I was not happy with the appointment because I thought I was getting a full STD/annual exam and only received a pap smear. I spent more time waiting for the doctor than I did receiving attention. I was told to make another appointment in a week to do the STD testing, which would have only taken another 10 minutes. I will not be scheduling an appointment and will continue to look for a gyno/primary care physician who can provide all of the services that I need. This center does not carry the IUD and was hoping to consult with my doctor about this.
I have attended Dr. Saltzman's office for years. I like her a lot. She makes you feel comfortable and she's straight to the point! Her Medical Assistants were AMAZING!
I have never had a bad experience with Dr. Saltzman or her PAs. She has a wonderful staff and excellent advise. My appointments are so quick! Great doctor.
She was excellent! I really appreciated the time she took with me and the recommendations she gave. Was kind of bummed that she could not treat my back pain with acupuncture because of my pregnancy but I will defenitly be back for post.
Dr. Dana Saltzman was great when I visited today. She addressed my matter of concern to the full extent and in a timely, efficient manner. She is also great with following up about any questions I may have.
Very personable, and I immediately felt like she understood what I needed. I enjoyed chatting with her about my travels.
Dr. Saltzman is an unusual person. I did not find her to be through as a physician, and the next doctor I went to made it very clear to me the difference. Worst of all, her staff is extremely difficult, ill-trained, and just plain rude and unaccommodating. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND VISITING DR SALTZMAN. Look at her reviews on yelp and you'll see why also.
Doctor Saltzman is a smart, fun and competent doctor with a staff to match. I am very happy to have her as my PCP
Wait time was almost an hour and she saw someone who came in after me first. She didnt even have my results ready for my xray and thats the only reason I came. She told me to call the radiology place myself and have them fax over the results to her office while she took care of someone else. Waited another half hr until she told me the results were at the front desk and to make another appointment with a specialist. She has way too much on her hands or so it seems. Waste of time. Receptionist is awesome, that's about it.
I'VE BEEN TO THIS OFFICE 2 TIMES PRIOR WITH NO ISSUES. AND ACTUALLY RECOMMENDED THIS OFFICE TO CO-WORKERS. MAYBE THIS WAS A FLUKE BUT MY LAST VISIT WAS NOT GREAT AT ALL. IT'S NOT A GOOD FEELING TO BE ASKED REPEATEDLY, IF I HAD EVER BEEN TO THE OFFICE BEFORE. THESE QUESTIONS MADE ME ASSUME THAT DO YOU NOT HAVE MY RECORDS ON FILE SAVED??
Never in my life have I had an experience such as this one. Wait time was terrible and when I finally saw Ms. Saltzman, none of my appointment went in a professional manor. She was rude, didn't ask me any prior health questions before performing a pap, and the office was not clean. I've never been so uncomfortable with a PCP before. Her attitude towards the front desk and receptionists was embarrassing and made me feel sorry for them. Not only did she forget to write me a prescription, she found all the time in the world to try to sell me acupuncture whilst in in the middle of an exam. First time I am ever writing a bad review, and last time I will ever step foot in that place again.
Viles of blood from previous patients left on counter in my tiny checkup room, door left open during multiple visits. Doctor barely looks at you, if you even see her. Extremely rude front desk staff as well as physicians assistants. Will never go to this office or doctor again, but last visit the PA told me I was "lucky they were so accomodating to my prescription needs"? Still unclear as to what this means, but there is no justifying such inappropriate and unprofessional comments.
Very nice, casual but, professional,. Great team.
Generally a short wait to see the doctor, but I was delayed 1+hr the last time I saw her due to an issue at the hospital (despite staff's assurances she would be in "soon"). I've seen a different PA every time (cause for concern?). The latest one was extremely novice, she could only start asking me questions after she was able to turn on the machine (reading questions from the screen), had to read the instructions for my strep test while I was in the room, and had to take 3 samples since she was not able to perform the strep test correctly. I definitely did not feel I was getting professional care from an experience practitioner. The doctor also had this PA set a timer for 30 minutes, during the start of my appointment, presumably to make sure the length of my visit stayed under control. During one of my previous appointments, staff were slightly mixed up when I came in for a follow up - I needed a booster for the vaccine I received, but they had me take an ECG as well since I didn't get it during my annual physical. Doctor seems to be overly prescriptive for medical procedures, pushing vaccines and an ECG during my annual physical. While these were covered by insurance, it seemed unnecessary. Doctor also tried to push alternative medicines such as Olive leaf pills and acupuncture as a way to manage my symptoms. While some people will prefer these methods, I am going to switch to another doctor. The ease of making an appointment and location do not outweigh the negative experiences I've had at this practice.
They don't make doctors like Dr. Saltzman anymore. She is amazing, so smart, caring, and considerate. Acupuncture with her is THE BEST in NYC! Try it once, you'll be hooked. The needles feel like a bristle from a hairbrush. Does not hurt. Plus, it's way better to try this once that suffer with pain or worse, toxic pain meds. Dr. Saltzman will change your life!
Extremely unprofessional doctor, highly disorganized office. Every visit has been unpleasant, confusing, and no one seems to have any idea what's going on.
I thought the doctor was insensitive, distracted and rude.
The entire staff team is very unprofessional. Waited over an hour to see the doctor and her explanation for being over an hour late is that she gives all of her patients as much time as needed yet I was out of the room in less than 5 minutes. When I asked what's the point of making appointments when patients have to wait over an hour, her response was "we're a medical office, we have to make appointments." Especially since Dana's office is located in midtown, many of us are trying to squeeze in a quick visit during lunch but that visit went well beyond that and not for spending time with the doctor. Definitely will NOT be coming back to this office ever again.
Dr. Saltzman was personable and easy to get comfortable with. It was one of my favorite visits to the Dr.'s office.
This is absolutely the worst Doctor's experience I have ever had. The first time I went, I actually couldn't get into the office. It was locked, and there was no buzzer. I ended up going up the back stairwell and knocking till someone let me in. The office then informed me that yeah, after five they lock the office doors and you have to call them to be let in- don't know why they wouldn't have explained that on their website or when I booked the appointment for after five. Once there, I waited over an hour for my appointment, and then was ushered into an office where during my actual exam, the receptionist walked in with another patient to ask a question of the doctor, who had no problem with this! I ended up asking for my prescriptions and covering the rest of my exam literally with this audience. The office ended up losing my urine from the exam, and then charged my insurance for some sort of heart exam that I never had- I was just there for an annual physical. As soon as I called the office, they cleared it up, but it struck me as strange at the time, and ended up proving to be extra strange later. After this, I figured I wouldn't ever go back, but then they were incapable of refilling a prescription I had through the pharmacy I used. I actually had a conference call with the pharmacy where we experienced together the total lack of professionalism at the office. As I needed the medication, I called the office and asked if I could just show up and literally pick up the piece of paper with the prescription on it, since it seemed impossible in terms of their organization, for them to mail or fax it to the pharmacy. They said that would be ok. Once I got there they informed me they'd have to charge me for the visit. When I made it clear that this was unacceptable and also not what we'd established over the phone, the doctor asked "What's the difference? Your insurance will pay for it." I had to explain to her that as I'm self-employed and have fairly basic insurance, they actually wouldn't pay for it, but more to the point, that was unethical and also not fair, as this whole issue what due to their lack of organization. After this, they assured me that they wouldn't charge me after all. Then, sure enough, after the visit, I got another charge for a mysterious heart exam! At this point, it was beyond shady. Also, each time I left the office, the doctor asked me not to forget to give them five stars on yelp, zocdoc, etc. I've never had a doctor ask me to do that before. Came on here, as requested, to give my review, though clearly, it's not five stars.
So far the Dr. Has been very attentive. Have a follow up appointment next week.
She was prompt, professional and proficient
She was excellent!
The staff and facilities were nice. However, I waited 40 minutes to see Dr. Saltzman. I heard her outside of them room long before she came in. She was very rushed, she didn't ask many questions, and was not really friendly. More like, "Okay you're here, first time? Where's the pain? Ok let's get started." It was my first time getting acupuncture she didn't explain how it actually works, her method, or explained why she was putting needles in my ear for my back problem. I digress. She put the needles in, some hurt, others not so much. I was very uncomfortable on the table she had, and there was an old needle applicator on the floor when I came in. That irked me but shrugs. The room itself wasn't very relaxing outside of this light/sound fountain she used. I laid there for 20mins and one of the needles placed around my shoulder was hurting pretty bad but I was instructed not to move and no one checked in on me. After 20 mins a tech came in, not Dr. Saltzman came in to remove the needles by simply throwing them on the floor. I didn't feel comfortable asking her questions and she was also rushed instructing me I was free to go or book another appointment. Needless to say my back still hurts and now especially above my shoulder where she put that needle. I won't try acupuncture again. Thanks!
She is dismissive and immediately leaves the room, leaving you with a medical assistant to figure out your scripts. I repeatedly asked to see her so she could fix my scripts before leaving the office, as a Health care professional, I knew they were incorrect. When I arrive to the pharmacy, 3 of the 4 scripts needed to be corrected and clarified. I had several poor experiences with her but this sealed the deal. Never going back.
Made an appointment for same-day travel vaccination info. They worked with my insurance, and are doing all the things I need. Thanks!
Overall extremely disappointed. She was not interested in me as a patient and kept pushing her devices without listening to me as the patient. Horrible experience.
Was very short uncaring Didn't even give me the time of day and dismissed me right away Very disappointing given all the written credentials on her web sight And my night expectations as a result........
Dr. Saltzman is great. I can't remember the last time I got in to see a doctor that quickly. I had barely sat down when they called me back! Everyone in the office is nice and efficient, and I would definitely recommend her.
Dr. Saltzman and her entire team were the best! I came in for shortness of breath and they quickly recognized it as a bigger problem and got me taken care of and setup to handle a pulmonary embolism. I will always come back to her.
Weird hippy BS. Kept saying "I think..." when talking about medical procedures. Recommends herbal supplements instead of actual testing to diagnose my issue. When I asked questions, she responded very condescendingly and I had to ask for my results from a scan multiple times before she even looked at them to see if they were normal or not. Too many "herbs" for this Doc.
Very Thorough. Asked additional questions about my symptoms and gave me additional advise and suggestions with specific medication. Suggested a follow up for a more routine exam.
She obviously knew what she was doing and that's all I ask from a doctor. She was really sweet and I would definitely recommend her as a primary care physician. Very positive experience.
Very efficient and professional. My sinus doesn't hurt after one time acupuncture treatment
I had an excellent consultation with Dr. Saltzman. She is very knowledgeable and personable. She listened to my concerns and was responsive. She is also quite light hearted. I felt like I could trust her and could confide in her. Its difficult to describe conditions - even to a doctor - they are usually so official and cold. Dr. Saltzman put me at ease. I am sure my future health will be improving because I was not rushed and I was comfortable with her - so I could tell her what is really going on. I trust her recommendations and prescriptions. I feel like she really knows her medicine and how to have a good rapport with her patients. Also the office staff was efficient and friendly. I didn't have to wait. And the office is easy to get to.
It was very efficient, staff very courteous and friendly
She was the worst doctor in the world. She was uncaring, incompetent, and unprofessional. I have a severely painful throat, swelling in my lymph nodes, and she argued with me saying she did not see any swelling, told me to take an Advil and come back. THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH THIS IS A SCAM.
For my first two visits to this office, I only saw the PA, not the actual doctor, which was surprising, but the PA was REALLY nice. Then I had to call three times to set up an appointment for my tst reesults because the doctor was never in. The doctor finally showed up for my results and was dressed a little inappropriately. She was then jumping around from topic to topic and was not very nice. I will not be returning to that office.
Great experience, the doctor listened to my issues and adjusted my treatment accordingly. The staff was very friendly as well. Can't wait to go back.
First time getting acupuncture and she made me feel very comfortable and had a great experience.. thanks!
Very personable and attentive.
Dr saltzman is a quack, I saw her Dr Kumar for a year before I had the unfortunate experience of meeting her see doesn't keep detailed notes and has no idea what is going on in her practice
Everybody was very nice but they still took my co-pay just to tell me that I needed to go to the dermatologist for my skin problem, and to take Advil before going for a run if my calf felt tight. They didn't even take my weight, or blood pressure. So I basically threw away that co-pay because they didn't do anything for me. I'm looking for a long term doctor who is interested in me and my health, hope to find one soon.
Overall, finding this doctor has been the best thing because its near by and fast and the PA is very good.
Went to the doctor with severe pain was told everything was normal ... Def getting a second opinion!
Love Dr Saltzman. Her staff is nop notch! It was my first time with acupuncture, so I might have liked a bit more explanation and a bit more of a gentle approach; it was very quick. But she is amazing and does answer questions!
Friendly, professional and efficient.
she's very nice and easy to talk with but it was brief result after my result.
My first visit with Dr. Saltzman was an annual physical and I found the experience to be very thorough, if not excessive - is an Ecco required in a typical physical? Following visits were extremely unorganized and frustrating. I never saw Dr. Saltzman again, only her PA. They didn't have the travel vaccine I needed and told me they would definitely have it by Monday next week. I return, no vaccine. They said they'd call when it came in, never did. I had allergy tests done there, no call with the results. I called them twice to ask about results. Finally got a call back that lasted 1 minute not allowing for details or questions.
It was a good visit. Short waiting time and personal attention, not rushed. I would recommend.
I was scared to go because of all of the negative reviews on yelp but I needed to be seen by someone and the office is right next to my work. I was seen right away, the PA was very nice and knowledgeable, and I was out of there with a prescription in about 15-20 minutes!
Extremely upset! It has been 3 weeks since I returned from Greece and was in and out of the doctors with abdominal and lower back pain, nausea, headaches and a fever. With my kidney disease I take no chances so, I had blood work, an ultra sound and other tests done. Well, I have yet to hear from my Dr. with any results. Now yes, the pain is gone but, I have other lingering issues that make me worried. I have called 7 times and have been told I'd get a call back and still nothing! They gave me the excuse that it was an all new staff well sorry but, that's not my problem! Sorry your staff sucked but, you should still do your JOBS!
I had a great experience at Dr. Saltzmans office it was not only beautiful but spacious. The staff was friendly and respectful and I was seen right away. PA Kumar answered all of my questions and was very helpful. I will definitely be going back!
I'm very happy with Dr. Saltzman and her staff.
They have a new, nicer office than when I first starting see visiting there.
Dr Saltzman is, quite simply, the best. I travel in from out-of-town to see her because I trust her completely to spend time with me, to listen to me and give me the best advice. She is personable and professional and cares deeply about her patients. We are people to her, not just another patient.
She was very rushed and was basically running out of the room while I was talking. Her great advice for my cold was to eat chicken soup. Also tried to sell me some "herbs" that would cure me, which had traces of foods I was allergic to (and all of my allergies are on file with the office, and were discussed with the medical assistant). Not a great experience.
Dr Saltzman was pleasant and had a good bedside manner. After a brief discussion of my problem area and why I came to acupuncture, she began the treatment. She did not explain her treatment, and left me in the room with the lights off without telling me how long I should expect to be alone in the room before she returned. In the end, she didn't return, instead one of her assistants came back to remove the needles. I would have appreciated more time with the doctor, as well as a few minutes afterwards to discuss the treatment. As a fellow health care provider I found her lack of patient education disconcerting, and felt that her schedule was perhaps too tight to accommodate all of the needs of each of her patients, including a little more face to face time. Additionally, as a novice to acupuncture, I would have appreciated more information about it, and symptoms I should expect to feel - along with normal pain ranges in different areas of my body. Instead, she simply told me to book another appointment the following week, without providing evidence or theories as to why this was necessary. Overall the treatment was satisfactory, the office was pleasant and there was no wait time, but I would not return to this office due to my questions not being answered.
The front desk had an extremely difficult time figuring out that my sick visit was 100% covered by insurance. They tried to charge me full price out of pocket, even after speaking to the insurance company. It was only after I spoke to the insurance company and had the company call them directly that they finally agreed and I was able to get my check up. While I was getting my vitals checked in the medical assistant's office, the doctor came in, coat on and handbag in hand. She was heading out for the day and seemed surprised to see that I was still there. After I had waited an hour to see her, she spent all of 45 seconds listening to my chest and writing me a prescription. I had a cold and needed antibiotics and she did not want to write me that prescription just yet but said I could call in after a day or two. I did just that but was not able to reach her for several days. The PA finally ended up calling the prescription in to my pharmacy. Also, after the first time the PA called in the prescription, my pharmacy claimed to have not received it, and when I called back to the doctor's office to check they had no record of a prescription having been called in for me. What kind of doctor's office doesn't keep records of medication that they prescribe to their patients? Needless to say this is not how you treat a first time patient if you would ever like them to return or recommend you to anyone.
She was very thorough and nice, I am glad I saw her but one thing kept bothering me. She acted almost like a used car salesman, trying to sell me on getting acupuncture with her (insurance will cover it and you will love it, she said) and also I found it very odd that she gives you a $20 gift card to Starbucks if you refer a patient to her. She gave me about 25 business cards for me to hand out to my friends, and they even have a sign in the office informing patients of the Starbucks gift card. It just isn't something that makes me feel trusting of a doctor. Also I got charged far more than I thought I would for work that I didn't really ask for, she was just too pushy for me to feel calm.
So knowledgeable and easy to talk to! Great nurses too!
Always see me on time i show up early and out of the office quicker than i ever have at a dr
It's my pet peeve when doctors do not acknowledge wait time. As if my time doesn't matter. If I make an appointment at noon and I don't get into a room until 12:30, they should say "sorry for the wait".
no me gusto porque yo necesitaba ginecologa y ella es doctora general
Went for checkup, nurse and PA were both professional and friendly, was seen within 5 minutes as first time patient.
The staff are friendly and efficient. I met both the doctor and the PA who were really great. Dr. Saltzman is really focused and got to the core of my medical issues and took time to get to know me. I try a new PCP every year and didn't find any one even close Dr. S!
I was very disappointed at my office visit this afternoon. 1) The office was not organized into collecting all my results at the time of my visit which wasted a lot of my time 2) The reason of my visit was not addressed by my physician, instead i was transferred to a stress management therapist. 3) The physician had left the office when i was done with a stress management therapist , so once again my thyroid problem was not addressed. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED
Dr. Saltzman's PA made me feel very comfortable. She was very thorough, asked many questions, gave me good advice. The office was clean and the staff was very nice. I was late for my appointment and they still saw me immediately. There is no paperwork to fill out as it is all done prior to the appointment on-line. I am 100% satisfied and will continue to see this doctor and her Physician Assistant
Would not recommend to anyone. She did more harm than good. I do not trust her. I do not think she is good at her job. Honestly very terrible experience.
Dr. Saltzman is good, but pushed a few alternative treatments on me that I believe were more suited to her financial interests than my health interests.
Don't go to this doctor! Do yourself the favor. Very unprofessional at all levels. I had to chase them to send me my blood work results. Also, make sure you review your insurance statement I was charged with tests that it was never performed on me.
Terrible! I don't understand why this doctor has such high rating on this website, the reality is closer to the Yelp rating. Visit totally useless: - on my twisted ankle "don't walk too much and take Advil. If not better in two days come back" - on my sore throat: "the Advil you will take for your foot will work as well" And that is all the advice I received from her, even though I asked for more several times. Just pathetic.
Amazing staff. Incredibly thorough, friendly, phantastic bedside manner. Made me feel so comfortable. Beautiful office. Top notch.
Avoid the office. I went there for an annual physical, which is 100% covered by my health plan. Despite they messed up my report (1 report I received was messed up, 2 others are totally missing), I kept receiving invoices. They itemize every single treatment/exam under the physical exam and billed me separately as if they are all stand alone treatments (including draw blood from vein). And they added on a lot of tests that I haven't taken. Also, they billed me for office visit just because I was to get the physical results. I ended up got billed for a ridiculously high amount for an annual physical that was supposed to be covered 100% under my insurance policy. They billed me like if they are some sort of scam. This is the worst experience ever. If you want to save yourself trouble and time. Please avoid this office.
I've seen Dr Saltzman before and had a great experience. This time I saw PA Kumar. The office called to inform me of the change and PA Kumar was also great. Nice office facilities. They keep the temp toasty for when you are changing or wearing your paper dress, etc. Leave extra time to trudge through the Times Square area.
As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the staff, my wait was less than 7 minutes and the doctor answered every question I had. Thank God I don't have to go to the doctor often but every time I went there it was a great experience.
The bedside manner of my PA was fantastic; however, the reception staffs' attitudes were lacking and beyond dismal.
Never met her but physician assistant was great
I went in for an annual physical with a few additional questions about a few things that have come up over the last few months. She took the time to listen and answer my questions thoroughly. The nurse who took my vitals and blood, was also fantastic at her job and the staff was great very personable as well, I will definitely be back!
I was very pleased with the Dr. Saltzman's office. I felt very comfortable with PA Kumar, and I really understood the medical feed back she provided! The whole experience was as enjoyable as a doctors visit can be. I have found my primary doctor, and that is a relief.
Dr. Saltzman was great - she took the time to explain my diagnosis and her Physician Assistant (PA Kumar) was very friendly and helpful as well. Along with her staff.
The staff is incompetent. I'm trying to get clearance for an upcoming surgery and have had to call back 2x to try and verify that paperwork was sent over to another doctor's office. First time I called, the receptionist said someone would call me back and no one did. The second time I called, receptionist took my phone number - for what reason I don't know as he told me to call back again to verify. Poor attention and follow-up efforts.
Dr. Saltzman was great, took the time to explain my test results. The staff was nice and very helpful with rescheduling my appointments. I like the new location, the space feels open and very inviting.
Great as always! This office is terrific, I've been coming here for a long time and I've never had a problem.
I was reluctant to make go to this office because of some of the reviews but it is very close to my job and I needed a same day lunch time appointment. I was glad I gave her a chance. I was in and out and didn't have any issues.
Unprofessional office staff. Incredibly disorganized and rude.
Very unorganized and unthorough. I have no interest in even going back for the followup appointment. I also asked her at the end of the Physical (even thought she actually didn't finish the whole Physical because she was busy seeing 5 patients at once) if she would take a look at a rash that was bothering me on my stomach. I thought she could at least give me a recommendation. She said she couldn't do that and I would have to make another appt. for that. Overall it was a very strange experience.
Dr. Saltzman is great. i recommend her to all my friends! very thorough and a great doc.
The doctor was great but I literally waited over 45 minutes to be seen which is unacceptable.
This wasn't the cleanest facility for a doctor's office. In addition, the appointment felt extremely rushed and the doctor wouldn't take the time to explain why the medication she prescribed would work for me versus other options available. I was also charged for tests that I didn't need or want.
All in all a very pleasant and professional experience. Happy to have chosen this Dr's office.
The PA for Dr. Saltzman is amazing. She is very professional and easy to talk to.
I never write reviews, mostly because they mostly come from whiny babies that have way to much time in their hand but the bad ones I read here about this doctor almost stop me from making this appointment and I didn't want that to happen to anyone else. Thank goodness I didn't pay them any attention. This office was great. I was in and out and I didn't have to miss work because they have evening appointments!
The PA was great, and only took about 30 mins total from when I got to the office until I left.
Everyone was super welcoming and sweet. They made me feel very comfortable and satisfied. I saw the nurse and doctor in less than 10 minutes after arriving.
Her staff were all very professional, helpful and very kind. A breath of fresh air!
I only saw the PA this time, but she was great! I am going back next week and will meet Dr Saltzman.
No wait. Friendly and professional. I did not feel rushed at all and all of my questions and concerned were answered.
Jumped to the conclusion (wrong one by the way) without performing basic exams. Did not listen to what I was saying.
When i asked the doctor to make sure I had the right address... she gave me an attitude. As I was turning around, she made an angry face and said $#iet! Very unprofessional place and old equipment.
Her PA was great, very nice and very understanding.
Well the office was under construction so it was a disaster and did not feel clean. They took my temperature three times before the tech realized the machine was unplugged. The doctor saw me right away and sent the prescription right away to the pharmacy; although it never went through and I spent the night in extreme pain. Then they tried to pressure me into getting another consult done with another doctor even though my insurance wouldn't cover it. To me this office was extremely incompetent and disorganized. I will never go back.
I was in and out in half an hour. The office is really close to where I work so I would definitely go back. Yes, they are in the process of moving into the new space but I wouldn't say it was messy like the other reviews.
The office was really, really run down and felt dirty and unkempt. It was fine for a flu shot I guess, but I really expect a cleaner and more put-together environment in a doctor's office.
They had just moved offices apparently and didn't have time to unpack, supplies and papers were everywhere. The lighting was hanging out of the ceiling by wires, the examination room had large windows and no curtains, they never called to follow up to let me know my test results.
I very very rarely write reviews, but my experience at Dr. Saltzman's office was so terrible that I feel obliged to let others know. I scheduled my appoint on a Friday morning in a pinch because I was heading out of town for the weekend. Their office had full availability, which I saw as red flag, but my ailment was very straightforward and I thought at the very least, they would be competent enough to write me a simple antibiotic prescription. The office itself was unkept with wires hanging from the ceiling and unsanitary - during my visit, some of my urine sample spilled onto the countertop and it was not cleaned up for the rest of my appointment. My lab technician did not know how to run my test (had to have multiple people come in to help her), which ultimately led to no diagnosis and no prescription. It was an extremely frustrating experience. Then, I received a bill after I double checked with the front desk attendant that the visit would be covered by my insurance. If you need medical attention, I would STRONGLY recommend going anywhere but Dr. Saltzman's office.
The office is under construction and super funky. The whole place is a mess.
I am a long time patient and the office has just moved into a beautiful new office space. It is still being put together but the staff and doc make up for any messy area the office may have. I fully recommend this doctor.
Got a physical. On time and to the point. Gave some great advice for general health. The staff was very helpful!
No toman signos vitales como presion arterial, temperatura, peso. La consulta con la doctora no fue mas de 5 min. Senti como si me estuviera "despachando" rapido. No volvere a ese lugar.
I was seen by Dr Saltzman's PA and she was wonderful. Knowledgeable, professional & kind. I would highly recommend.
There are 100s of doctors in NYC. Avoid this office at all costs. I took my chances and lost. I'm surprised with some of the few good reviews here. Check out Yelp - they are extremely disorganized. It's been 2 weeks and I still have not herd back about my physical results. Of course they won't pick up calls.
I came back to see her and i will again for sure! Excellent and very nice.
I am very disappointed with my visit with the PA at this office. Similar to my last visit, I felt rushed, like she wasn't really listening to my responses to her questions. She would cut me off and move on to the next question in the middle of my response. I felt like I was being herded through the process so they could clear the waiting room faster. So much so, that I asked to see her again after getting dressed because I still didn't have answers to a couple questions and she'd disregarded one of my concerns. Only AFTER I brought this to her attention did she recall that she should probably give me a prescription for the issue. The next step in my appointment was an ultrasound for one of the symptoms I was having. I waited almost 2 hours to see the technician. Then, after waiting all this time, I go in to see him and am told I should have a full bladder. No one informed me of this the entire almost 2 hours I'd been sitting in the waiting room where I could have been chugging water down. Meanwhile, my appointment was almost 2 weeks ago and I still haven't received a call regarding the results. I had to call today to no avail. I went and got a 2nd opinion for a possible diagnosis, which I received in 3 days and was overall a more thorough, comprehensive and patient exam.
It may have been due to moving but I came in on a humid day to a office that had no ac or fan- I was running a fever and sweated through my shirt- was seated in a back room that had less air flow. Asked no relevant questions as to why I was there by the nurse who also neglected to take my temperature. I was left alone and then when the doctor finally showed up - she told me they couldn't treat my sinus issues as an infection until the 10th day ( it was the ninth) and still no temperature was taken. I left the office with a shotty prescription that walgreens barely accepted and went back to work and nearly passed out. When I called a few days later to ask if they could do anything more (since now it had been 14 days and I wasn't any better) I was told to have my pharmacist call and speak to the doctor- I go to a walgreens and didn't feel comfortable asking walgreens to call my doctor to tell them I was sick. It's been a few weeks and I'm not 100 percent yet but I think my body fought off whatever sinus infection there was- no thanks to this office. I'm just glad there wasn't anything horribly wrong with me- bc it would have been ignored.
I really loved the receptionist and assistants at Dr. Saltzman's office. There bedside manner was excellent and I found everyone was professional and knowledgeable.
I just went in for a travel consultation being that I am going on vacation and needed some things. My visit was quick and i got what i needed.
Got me what I needed in an orderly fashion. Courteous but not warm. Good job.
Doctor was pleasant, but not as thorough as I thought she could have been. Admin staff and nurse not very helpful or pleasant at all. The appointment itself was okay, but I definitely won't be recommending the practice to others.
I was VERY sick, like I ended up having to go to the hospital that weekend sick, and she gave me an herbal supplement and made me call my insurance to see if I was covered for accupuncture-- I had to call back and speak to a DIFFERENT doctor to request a Zpak. By then, I was so ill. She is terrible.
I did not meet with Dana Saltzman. I met with the Nurse Practitioner. She was very helpful and attentive. I would consider recommending her to other patients.
Did not receive paid for results after the visit. Terrible.
It was great! I was able to get everything done including picking up my prescription during my lunch time.
Although Dr. Saltzman did provide decent medical treatment, the office was poorly managed, and I often felt uncomfortable about the level of professionalism that was maintained. I finally stopped returning to see her when their office called me the day of my appointment to reschedule for another day, but then when I went to the new appointment time that they had recommended, their office was closed that day. Not worth my time.
Quick, easy and good quality care.
Super simple, friendly, easy and best part was I was in and out and off to work on a timely fashion
This is a very new-age office. Wellness more than health. Not for everyone.
Terrific as always.
did not solve anything, and to make it worse I was charged for unsolicited lab expenses...
She's great and takes the time to answer concerns :)
The Dr herself was very nice and seemed fine. The office staff and nurse were not as knowledgeable. The supportive staff unfortunately made me more uneasy about a return visit. In addition the office was more of a 'wellness' center, acupuncture and homeopathic was not expecting that.
Great service, the doctor saw me on time; and very professional.
I was great and I was see right away. The staff was friendly. I will definitely continue as a patient!
Overall great experience. I would recommend this office.
They are all good and professional from the front desk to medical examiner and to the main Doctor. All highly recommended.
I wouldn't know didn't meet the doctor on the initialvisit met with the PA which was brief. Spent more time wwith the assistance doing my ekg which was very pleasant.
To start off, when I showed up to my 8:30am appointment the doctor was nowhere to be seen. I waited outside the office until the PA strolled in at 8:50am. I then waiting in the waiting area until the PA was ready to see me. I voiced my concerns regarding my low iron. Blood was taken, Dr. Saltzman never called to go over my results. I come to find out my results just for my iron levels was lost. I needed to go back to the office to have blood drawn again. When I went into the office for a second time I waiting for 45 minutes, until I told the receptionist that I needed to get back to work. Dr Saltzman told me that if I thought my iron was low then I should eat a steak and be done with it. ( I am a vegetarian). If you are interested in waiting in the waitin area for at least 30 minutes before being place in a room for another 15 - 20 minutes then Dr Saltzman is your best bet. If you value your health and time go elsewhere!!
Got the health bill I needed not the one I wanted.
Very efficient! The office staff were great and so nice.
Dr. Saltzman's office sent my blood work to a lab not covered by my insurance without my knowledge or consent. A few weeks later I received a massive bill caused entirely by her office's incompetence, and they are now dodging my calls. For Dr. Saltzman to advertise accepting an insurance, and then pass the most expensive part of the visit on to the patient is duplicitous, and just plain gross. The Yelp for Dr. Saltzman is full of similar stories. Do yourself a favor, and go to a professionally run office.
Love her nurse practitioner! She was great. Efficient and actually...shall I say...fun? I was in the search for a new doctor after my move from Chicago and this office has turned out to be a great fit.
bleh, rushed through the appointment and didnt seem to care about my well being
I really liked how they treated me in her office, the staff and the med techs seem very well put together they all seem to get along well which made me feel very comfortable and the music playing in the background was soothing and relaxing. Dr. Saltzman seemed very eager to meet me even though I was a new patient and it seems as if she's like that with all her patients.
she's ok but I feel that she wasn't really didn't do good examine. it was so fast result and I feel that It wasn't enough to find the problem. I'm hoping my problem will go away fast! She's very nice. Thank you
I have been coming to this office for the past two years. Every time I tell myself it will be the last, but today sealed the deal. 1. They changed location a week ago without letting their patients know. When asked, the front desk and the PA were both curt in their response letting me know the new information was updated on ZocDoc and via email- neither of which were correct. 2. They only process co-pays in cash or check. I've never been to a legitimate medical care facility where that is the case. There is something very off about that. 3. The PA only took my blood pressure. I came in clearly congested, she just refilled my nose spray. The only question she asked was if there was anything else I needed. 4. Dr. Saltzman is never there. It's odd. And when she is there she pushes her acupuncture at every visit. Overall this place is the most unprofessional medical establishment I have ever been to and I have lived in three major cities. It's hard to find a great doctor in New York, but I truly recommend that you steer clear of this office.
Professional, helpful, courteous and efficient staff
Very attentive and friendly!!
Very good as always.
There was a problem: despite having made an appointment with zocdoc, it did not show up for them on their calendar. So, despite receiving multiple email confirmations and a text confirmation of the date and time of my appointment, I showed up and the doctor had already left for the day because she was unaware that I had made an appointment. I have seen Dr. Saltzman in the past and have only had positive experiences-I was just incredibly frustrated by this process today.
A talented generalist -as close to an old fashioned doctor that you can get - she can treat all; smart, direct, hard working, with an up to date knowledge base on healing modalities - including acupuncture
Everyone was very nice...very efficient. Took me right on time. Office could use a remodel, but I was still impressed by doctor and associates.
I thought the staff & Dana J Saltzman were very friendly .
She was quick and brief, seemed more interested in selling me an acupuncture treatment than to look at my actual issue. I went in with a horribly swollen throat and disgusting tonsil stones that had been slowly getting worse despite my best attempts. After a strep test shows up negative, she dashes in the room and says "What's your issue?", I tell her, she looks at me and said you need to go home. Doesn't even look at me. Finally she takes a look at my throat and feels my glands for a second, and writes me a prescription then goes on to sell her acupuncture. I will not be going back .
So friendly and informative and comfortable
I went there for the first time today and they were awesome. They answered all my questions and helped me in a professional and friendly manner! Good job!
Huge waste of time. Firstly, I waited an hour and 20 minutes to see the doctor and she literally spent 4 minutes with me. Of the 4 minutes she spent with me, she had the door open for 2 of those minutes and was virtually outside the room while she spoke to me. She had no regard for my medical privacy and there was no way I would attempt to mention any of my private medical concerns with the door wide open, while being in the midst of her blatant uninterest, to make me even more uncomfortable. Further, I was able to hear everything that was discussed in the office next door while she spoke with other patients ahead of me about their personal mental and physical health. There was no privacy at all. Additionally, she told me that I would have to come back for another visit to receive the remaining services that were part of the annual physical but she wouldn't render them that day. In this city, where there are doctors on every block, there is absolutely no reason to return to this particular physician again.
Had to wait a few minutes to meet with PA, however, worth the wait. Excellent visit and would highly recommend the practice to anyone looking for a physician in this neighborhood.
Overall it was excellent. I am happy to call her my new PCP.
I thought it was great, although I didn't see Dana. I saw another employee who was just as wonderful.
I was seen by the assistant and she was good. Very pleasant!
A lovely person. She put my mind at ease. Very educated and helped me put my fears to rest. Highly recommended, if you like pleasant and upbeat professionals.
Worst doctor visit I have ever had. Both the front desk staff and the doctor I saw were unfriendly and made me feel incredibly unwelcome. In both my first appointment and follow-up the doctor rushed me out within a few minutes, didn't do a comprehensive check on what I asked for and treated my concerns as if they weren't important. I am still waiting to have my lab results emailed to me days after I had to follow-up with her to do so. I can understand poor customer service in a fast food restaurant, but not in a medical office that cares for the health and "wellness" of patients.
Very good doctor and staff. They make you feel comfortable and they are very professional
I was seen by Dr. Saltzman's PA, who genuinely seemed to care about my physical, emotional and mental well-being. The staff were all courteous and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable.
She was too busy trying to up sell me than actually treating me. She kept pushing acupuncture and that really detracted from the visit. My follow up was scheduled with her but I walked to find her assistant instead. The office workers are seriously lacking. Wouldn't go back. The office is also in a state of disrepair. Exposed wires and multiple burnt out bulbs.
I came in for a physical but they did not give me all of the results for the blood tests such as STD testing. Kind of important...
Very professional, yet casual. Quickly resolved the issues I had and answered all my questions. A very pleasant experience.
She was considerate and caring. I really enjoyed my visit to Dr Saltzman, I'll definitely be back. She explained to me my symptoms and walked me through treatments. Fantastic visit!
LOVED Dana! Super friendly, respectful, efficient and best of all funny! Definitely my new doctor!
It was my first time here and I never felt more comfortable in a doctors office. Definitely coming back!
I trust this practice
I always have an easy time coming here
I feel comfortable telling Dr. Saltzman what's wrong with me I'm always very confident she'll find out what's going on and I haven't been let down yet.
I'm always treated really well on every visit
Shes really nice and seems to know whats best
I spent most of my adulthood searching for a doctor who can really find out whats wrong and concur the problem head on and Dr. Saltzman is that doctor. So glad I found her
I came here because I was not feeling well I had not been here before so I wasn't expecting much after my appointment I was pleasantly surprised at how attentive and nice Dr. Saltzman was I'm definitely coming back
she really catered to the way I was feeling and helped determine the cause of my ailment without wasting anytime
Nice but not really good manners and I had to wait over 45 minutes .
This was definitely the worst health care experience I have ever had. Beginning with a rude and unfriendly receptionist- I'm not sure how she has a job. Then the doctor spent no more than ten minutes with me, discussed one concern in an incredibly condescending tone- and did not ask me ANY questions about my symptoms. THEN told me I had to make ANOTHER appointment if I wanted to discuss a second concern. She all but pushed me out of the office saying she had to see another patient. She treated the next patient the same way- she did not even enter the room with her next patient before telling him he needed to make another appointment. I would never return to this place or recommend this doctor to anyone- a HUGE disappointment.
Waited forever, paid my copay, and then they billed me an additional copay 15 months later. I called four times to ask about it, but never received a phone call back. They sent letters threatening to send it to a collections agency for months, while I tried to call to resolve the issue. Finally just paid it because it wasn't worth it. This was all to get a tetanus shot and a yellow fever vaccine. Ridiculous.
Splendid as always. Great care from Dr S and her associates.
It was great and quick. They called me in right away. The receptionist was friendly, the doctor was great and caring, and it was the first time ever I barely even felt the needle go in when they drew my blood! Definitely considering making them my primary doctor.
My experience here has been fantastic! I've been seen here multiple times for different things and each time was a positive experience. I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes each time I've come for an appointment. The staff is great and the office cleanliness is top notch. Dr. Saltzman is careful and attentive, If there is ever a problem with your insurance they do their best to fix it right away. As many times as I've been here I've never been prescribed anything I did not need, I've always been given a spot on diagnosis and even been called for follow ups which is more than I can say for other offices I've been to. I will continue to see Dr. Saltzman, I Highly recommend her as a doctor!
I had a problem and 3 doctors gave me different medication. Dr. Saltzman helped me in one visit without medication! She will be my PCP.
Super efficient. The doctor listened and I got out quickly!
I love Dr. Saltzman! She is honest, plain spoken and does not talk down to her patients. Another thing, she does not push drugs and prescriptions to get patients out the door. These days that is rare in a physician.
After barely even acknowledging me when she walked in the room, she was not helpful, was abrupt and didn't spend any time listening to my concerns. She spent the majority of the time trying to sell me on her acupuncture services and wanted to to purchase 'natural remedies' which she advised I should do through her. Worst doctor experience I have had in NY.
This office is dirty and dismal and Dr. Saltzman is a little too off the wall for my liking. She didn't seem to pay attention to what I was saying until I asked about accupuncture.
There were several mishaps regarding medicine that needed to be prescribed which required last minute changes before our trip out of the country.
Great staff, very friendly and helpful with paperwork. Appointment was quick and to the point. I got what I needed in a faster-than-average time frame and felt comfortable the entire time. I'll definitely be going back to this office.
The staff there are very attentive and helpful. I got lost looking for the place and they actually send someone to bring me up! The checkup was quick and straight to the point. Good experience overall.
I found Dr Saltzman professional at first, but she rushed through the appointment and was not at my physical. I found her staff to be very inexperienced and unprofessional, with one of her assistants bordering on rude. I do not feel like they really paid attention to my care and do not plan to go back.
The staff is hugely unprofessional and the primary goal at the office definitely seems to be maximizing profit margins and not patient care
Did not have an appoint with Dana since their calendar does not sync with Zococ, but the nurse and PA were very friendly and listened well. Facility could be a bit cleaner.
Went in for acupuncture for the first time and what an experience it was! So relaxing and fresh smelling, I felt so relaxed on my way out definitely coming back
Such a polite and officiant staff, I had an issue with my insurance and the offices manager helped me and in no time I was on my way to work.
I thought id be waiting forever in order to be seen, but that wasn't the case, I was seen immediately and was prescribed the best medication for what I had. I had been feeling ill for quite a while before my visit but after my appointment with Dr. Saltzman I was feeling better a couple days after my first visit! Definitely coming back
My experience here has been fantastic!
I was very pleased with my visit, very clean and calm environment. The doctor and staff were quick and efficient, I had a problem with my insurance and they solved it without a problem, I look forward to my next visit.
She was very nice and personable. Made sure I didn't have to get unnecessary things done and went straight to the point. Love that New York honesty!
I went for an appointment at 6:45pm, when most of the doctor's had already gone home, so I don't really blame them for the fact that I had to wait over an hour for my appointment. I would suggest going earlier in the day because the doctor was really great!
I got more than I went in for. She's absolutely amazing! Highly recommended.
Very cool and caring. Great doctor!
Dr. Saltzman was very professional and extremely friendly. Love her practice as she incorporate western and eastern medicine so you get the best of both world. Highly recommend and looking forward to going to her for all my health issues.
She was genuine and honest, she listened and told me a test that i was convinced i needed, was actually unnecessary. Most doctors are like car mechanics, trying to sell you things you're pretty sure you don't even need. Dr Saltzman was the oppoiste and I appreciated that. I will go back to her next time i need a doctor.
Horrible doctor! I watched the front desk give 2 patients the wrong patients information while I waited for over an hour. Once I was finally taken to a room, they kept leaving the door open when they came in and out with no regard for the fact that I was on the table partially undressed. Once Dr. Saltzman finally saw me, she spent all of 5 minutes in the room and then disappeared. I then had to wait another 20 minutes after my appointment for them to track down the doctor to translate the notes she had left on my chart. I decided to say something to Dr. Saltzman about how bad my experience was and she made no recover the appointment or even apologize.
I spent about 20 minutes in the waiting room, but my appointment itself was definitely rushed. When Dr. Saltzman arrived at the office, she ran in to the room, went through a rapid quick fire of questions, wrote me a script and was out the door in less than two minutes.
She was rushed, and as a result, gave less-than-satisfactory care.
so nice, so prompt.
Helpful office staff.
Lovely office with lovely staff!
Pretty awesome doctor. The speediest staff and check-in I've ever experienced! I initially had doubts about this appointment, as it was made during my lunch hour, but it went smoothly, I wasn't late for anything, and had everything I needed by the end of my appointment. Summary: Clean office, awesome meditation music, friendly staff, speedy nurses, and knowledgeable doctor. I am booked for a physical soon and I can't wait to return! I think I finally found a PCP I will enjoy going to.
Pretty unprofessional. Dingy office, staff isn't too friendly. Not up front with fees. Needless to say I will NOT be returning.
Very unprofessional. I went for a vaccine/pre-travel consultation and she pulled up the CDC website and started reading it to me in the room...as if I hadn't already looked there. I was looking for another professional opinion on what vaccines I truly needed for the countries I was visiting. Eventually she just asked me what vaccines I wanted and gave them to me. I was expecting a little more from a doctor who says they specialize in this area.
She has an attitude and is judgmental. Her office is a mess - total nightmare to get a copy of your medical records from her staff.
Nice doctor who cares about her patients. I recommend her.
The nicest staff and technician I've ever experienced at a doctors office. Dr. Saltzman was friendly, professional, informative and I felt like she was really listening to me. She also mentioned a holistic option which I appreciated.
She was the most reassuring, professional, interested, kind, and informed doctor and I immediately made her my Primary Care Doctor from now on. Incredible staff of nurses and reception as well. Thank you so much!
Dr Saltzman was really nice, warm, friendly. Her medical assistants were nice too.
Friendly, caring, holistic. Highly recommend - and I have!
Great! Nice, funny, professional, knowledgable... what more could I want?
the visit was quick. although one of the prescription that the doc gave me had no date so i couldnt get that med from the pharmacy. i was asked by the pharmacist to go back to the doc and get the date stamp from her which was annoying.
She is friendly but seemed to busy to focus fully on each patient. I am not happy with how the office is organized -- the front desk booked me on the wrong time, forgot to charge me the fee to fill in the annual physical form ($20) and called after me, and accepts only cash and check. Receptionist is brisk and unfriendly: she'd say 'what do you need' instead of 'how can I help you', and asks you 'are you sure?' when you correct her mistakes. And I hope the doctor stopped recommending a specific shop for vitamin supplements.
Dr. Saltzman was terrific as always.
Very personable and professional. I'm extremely picky with tact and first impressions. I just moved from Chicago and came down with what I now know is the flu. She's definitely going to be my regular doc from now on!
Run the other way. Doctor was all over the place, couldn't remember what we had discussed each time she stepped out and back in the room, forced tests I didn't need on me and then submit these tests to a lab that doesn't participate with my insurance. Waste of time and money.
It was fine. The offices have much to be desired though. For example, the elevator fits only about 3 people at a time.
She looked more like she was going to a club than taking care of patients... didn't look at me at all just handed me a prescription.
It was only a followup, but I got in and out quickly :)
This review is not about Dana, though she seemed friendly when I spoke with her after my appointment. I saw a new male doctor during my visit and he was great! I made my appointment because I was sick. He diagnosed me, prescribed me medicine (not herbs...), and wrote out a little "get well" plan with information on what to do, eat and drink while getting over this. He was very nice, caring, attentive and informative. Highly recommended.
Very good. Thank you
I've been to this office a quite a few times and my experiences have been very positive.
It was all quite rushed. I also felt like I was in the way as if they needed to use my room for someone else and that I had to be quick. I felt this did not allow me to relax and feel at ease.
It was ok
Dr. Saltzman was very personable which is sometimes hard to find in a doctor and the staff was professional and friendly too. There was no wait time, I even got into my appointment a few minutes early! I would highly recommend Dr. Saltzman and her team.
I really liked her and her assistants but unfortunately she had an emergency and had to leave in a hurry. Going back there Oct 4th to get other things done and hopefully another incident won't happen. Overall, was good and everyone in the office was very helpful !! :)
She is great! So easy to talk to and very nice.
Dr. Saltzman is friendly and helpful. However, the office is disorganized and the wait very long.
After her office submitted my tests to a lab NOT covered under my insurance, I was left responsible for thousands of dollars my insurance wouldn't cover. When I tried to get an explanation of why my labs were sent out of network, her office did not return any of my calls or messages. Now, her office claims I have a remaining balance. Rebecca said she would email me a confirmation that I do not owe a balance to their office and that email has not yet arrived. I tried calling to get said email and was asked to leave a message - I am still waiting for a response.
Dr. Saltzman did put me at ease immediately! She was at once friendly and forthcoming with suggestions. However she was very rushed and didn't say goodbye before she was off to another patient. I actually had to go back to the office after almost leaving when I realized that she forgot to give me a referral for the specialist I needed to see. The office felt a bit unprofessional altogether. The scale was broken, the receptionist loud, the lighting and decor less than comfortable.
Very understanding and caring.
Very personable, wasn't rushed, calmed me down and I left feeling better. Definitely going to remain here as my primary.
General ignorant doctor. Asked me if I wanted to get cancer because I hadn't had a pap. I had just found out I was pregnant that morning and she said my baby was not going to develop properly because I follow a plant based vegan diet and spent quite a bit of time telling me I have to eat eggs. Very rude and opinionated.
Dr. Saltzman was very thorough during my annual physical exam. She performed an echo-cardiogram which I have never had before from any other doctor when seen for a basic physical. Dr. Saltzman was very sweet and genuinely concerned about my overall health. She does practice homeopathic medicine but she also prescribes "regular" medication. Her approach to healing is balanced and I am happy that I found a new primary care physician.
I really liked her combination of Western doctor with Eastern healer—she had the grounding I was looking for with the openness I really appreciated. I would definitely see her again.
Dr was very attentive and staff moved me quickly through my physical. Office is up to date and Dr has all the modern amenities for testing, etc. I would highly recommend her to my friends.
She saw me right away and the appointment went extremely well. She was efficient and thorough.
The office was busy when I got there, but the short wait was worth it. Dr. Saltzman was excellent, very personable and sensitive. It's a relief to find a doctor who knows how to get to the crux of my issues and still talk to me as a human being in a engaging manner. Wish more docs knew how to do this!
The doctor didn't appear on the appointment without letting me know about that!
very nice people work here
She's also a certified acupuncturist, so... if you're looking for a more "natural" approach, she's fine. But if you like medicine, maybe try someone else first.
Always efficient. Love her sense of humor.
Unprofessional, didn't listen to my issues. Seemed scatterbrained and pushing acupuncture on me for every ailment regardless of my interest in that solution. Also lost my shots history and wasn't sure what I had already been administered vs still needed. Wouldn't recommend her to anyone, particularly anyone actually sick.
I was disappointed in my last visit. She could not find records of immunizations that she herself had given me, and did not inquire about an ongoing condition she had diagnosed. Each visit is as new as the first, which I don't need.
I was able to get a visit within 5 hours from the time I found her on Zocdoc. while it took me a few hours to actually get the confirmation, I did get confirmed about two hours before my appt. I only recently began taking advantage of my health insurance plan and seeing doctors, I am glad that I picked Dr. Saltzman. I found her to be warm, caring and concerned about my concerns. She was helpful in prescribing me medication that would address my symptoms and made it clear that I was welcome to check in or come back for help anytime. After a long time of not going to doctors simply because I didn't know who to go to, I am really happy to be able to consider Dr. Saltzman as my doctor.
Excellent knowledge of current meds and illnesses.
Thorough, efficient, patient and helpful.
Dr. Saltzman is great if you are into alternative medicine- she really focuses on using more natural ways to prevent and cure treatments. Her office does seem to be a little unorganized, which makes me nervous.
Dr. Dana Jane was very nice and I appreciated her prescription of herbal remedies rather than antibiotics, however, her office staff was downright awful--rude, condescending, and bitter. Her assistant literally yanked acupuncture needles out of my face without warning and slammed the door in my waiting room. The acupuncture that she did worked to clear up my sinus infection but she charged me $22 for "Olive Leaf Extract Pills," which go for $7 at CVS if they work at all. Overall, I wouldn't return because of the terrible office staff, but I do wish I could see Dr. Dana as an holistic addition to my primary care physician.
Concern about other areas involving bloodtests, etc. Necessary tests.
She's great - and her nurse gave me the best blood-taking ever...very quick, efficient and painless.
Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor was courteous and professional. I'm glad I chose their office for my medical needs.
1- She prescribes medications too easily. 2- She charges a "phone consultation fee" to speak to you on the phone about an unresolved issue that she was treating (!!) 3- The nurse who was helping her is RUDE and grumpy. Made me feel that I was doing something wrong or wasting her time.
First time visit. I really liked Dr. Dana. Will definetely keep her as my regular doctor, and I'm a picky one.
Dr Saltzman is a great doc. She's efficient and personable and listens. Also I was in and out of there with much waiting.
Everything was quick and professional, but also thorough. I was really impressed!
I was able to make an appointment for the next day. Front desk was very helpful since I did not have my insurance card with me. They were able to go online and retrieve the info. Dr. Saltzman was very helpful and friendly during my visit.
The doctor was very personable. I was surprised at her intelligent, practical approach. She has a good sense of humor and does NOT overprescribe antibiotics. I feel like I was heard!
Worst experience I've ever had. I would NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone.
My scheduled appointment for my annual check up an blood work was on 8/2/2011. While I was at the office, I made 2 appointments, one of 8/8/2011 for a PAP test (which I had to reschedule) and another on 8/11/2011 for my result. On my way to the office, I saw I had a missed call. I called the office and was told that the Docotor was running late if I could come in later. I ask them if the Doctor could call me with the results. The woman said she was not sure, so I ask her if she could call me to reschedule. She said she would call me back. As of 8/17/2011, I'm still waiting for a call to get my results on blood work done on 8/2/2011.
Thought the visit was very rushed, spent less than five minutes with her before dismissing me as she walked in to see another patient. She was also dostracted and met with two people while i waited. Promised to have blood resilts at a certain time and days after deadline, i still have not received a call, i called twice and there was no answer.
Was not very helpful in advising how to treat the injury. I had to ask all the questions or else I would have known nothing.
She was distracted, rude, and didn't have any idea what any of my medications were. The office was filthy. Terrible doctor!!
What a terrible experience! As a new patient you have to spend about 20 minutes filling out your info, then you have to wait about another 20 minutes to be placed inside an examine room. After another 5 minutes, the doctor finally comes in. Dr. Saltzman just doesn't seem like she's completely there listening to your concerns. I told her what my symptoms were and she started mumbling something to herself about what I was saying. Then she said she would write me up a prescription and the name of an OTC herbal supplement I could take. Right after she said that she walked away and into another patient's examine room. After a few minutes she came back with the prescription, but not the name of the OTC supplement. So I asked her for it, and she said ok, I'll be right back with it! Then she left again! Then her PA came in and told me I was all done and could collect my things and talk to the receptionist about scheduling a follow-up. So I did that and I told the receptionist I'm still waiting on something from the doctor and needed to see her, but she tells me, "the doctor is already with another patient." Very frustrating. I will never go back to her.
Dr. Saltzman was great. She listened to what I had to say and was very efficient.
She was warm, friendly and very helpful.
Great doctor, great sense of humor. She accommodated everything I needed. Thanks Dr.Dj!!
Dr. Saltzman and her staff were very friendly and their service was great!
She was very thorough and was lovely.
It was a good visit. Very speedy, and I really liked the electronic filing system.
The most useful doctor visit I've had. Was diagnosed right away, given some medicine and walked out feeling much better. Highly recommended!
She was caring, funny, professional and compassionate. I couldn't have asked for more from a health care provider.
Did not address my medical complaint other than offering holistic medicine, without ruling out a medical cause. I was also forced into taking blood tests that I did not want to take. Weeks after my appointment I received a facebook message from a random other patient of hers with a similar first name to mine letting me know that they had received all of my confidential information in the mail- it was sent to her instead of me.
I could hear the exam next door through the pocket doors. I was skeeved out and never went back.
Dana is wonderful. She was extremely helpful and did not rush me through my appointment. She gave valuable and easily applicable advice and was not quick to issue an unnecessary prescription.
Short wait. She listened to my problem issued a prescription, took blood and I was out. My only concern is that the walls are paper thin and I over heard another patient complaining.
As a new patient i wish i had more of an opportunity to get to know my doctor a bit...or more imprtantly for her to get to kow me...
Dr Saltzman is an excellent doctor and I want to come back to see her
I like this office as a whole. Dana was very nice, and recommended me to speak with and even see two other specialty doctors in the office to immediately attend to problems i had. It's convenient and everyone is very nice.
She has an informal style I like, but I could hear the complaints of the woman in the next room loud and clear--paper thin walls, I guess.
She seemed really spacey and not confident in the course of action she recommended for my illness. She was very personable, though. Office staff was very nice.
Had to wait even thoughhardly any other patients and could see Dr. was behind reception desk. Dr. was still very rushed even though office was slow. Felt I could only get out basic concerns as fast as possible. Only asked if I had any other concerns as she was walking out the door for next patient - not very inviting of a productive dr-patient relationship.
There are no words to explain the incompetancy that I encountered at my appointment. She is the WORST doctor I have ever visited. Her office is dirty and disorganized. The paperwork she asks you to fill out is totally ridiculous. STEER CLEAR OF THIS NIGHTMARE DOCTOR!
This is one of the worst doctor visit I have ever had in my life. The doctor is quite unprofessional. She doesn't seem to be aware of privacy concerns of patients. She was treating multiple patients at once while I was there and doors were left open. I can clearly hear what other patients are telling her. They switched me to different rooms and left records of previous patients in the room out clearly visible. When they moved me, they didn't take my urine sample until another patient had sat down for 2 minutes. I can only imagine how gross that will be (samples are in empty cups instead of a contained bottle). It took the doctor a lot of phone calls and running around to finally have the tubes ready for blood testing. They got a lot of blood from me and still complained it's not enough. This is the first time in my life that had happened. Totally not fun. The doctor doesn't seem to care much about your well being either. She was running around the office being a receptionist and taking calls while having the consultation with me. It also took me a while to realize she is the doctor since she didn't even introduce herself. After all the testing, I wanted to have a conversation with her about a problem. But she didn't even made an effort to listen to my problem. Will not go back again.
I liked Dr. Salzman's thoroughness and how quikly she got me what I needed. I had blood tests done right at the office when i needed them, so no running around to get those taken care of. She was nice & caring, if a bit rushed. She gave me an accupunture treatment which provided immediate relief for my sore throat and herbs instead of antibiotics. She worked up a plan to help me meet some health goals and was very helpful in that regard. The only negatice was the paperwork I had to fill out - there were some questions I did not feel comfortable answering on an intake form and also there are charges for things I don't think should be charged for - calling in refill prescriptions and phone consults. Overall, though, it was a good experience.
Dr. Saltzman is both a knowledgeable western medicine physician and a wonderful alternative practitioner. Instead of drugging every one up with unnecessary, dangerous medicines she sells herbs which work just as well, right in the office! Also does acupuncture, which really does work.
Dr. Saltzman is a great doctor. She is probably one of the best doctor's I have ever had. I was looking for a doctor in NY and I went to the right place. 2 THUMBS UP!
