I use a lot of manual therapy techniques as well as KINESIOLOGY ENHANCED ATHLETIC TAPE in my treatment plans. I work alone and and take the time to find out and discuss what your particular problem is. There is no wait time because I am waiting for you when you arrive. My office is on lower Broadway near NYU and I am very creative in my problem solving. I always try to empower patients to care for themselves to prevent further physical problems.

Patient reviews for Daniel Maloney, PT
Daniel and his staff were kind, attentive and helpful. The building is old but the location is fantastic - steps to the nearest subway! Will definitely be back.
My first visit was better than expected. The receptionist was warm & friendly. The doctor was great and very knowledgeable. I already rescheduled my next visits.
Daniel Maloney is perhaps the best PT I've ever seen and I've seen quite a few. He REALLY knows his stuff and I'm in the bodywork field as well as massage therapist and former dancer, so I know it too. He listens when you talk to him and gets right to the heart of the matter with exercises and techniques that are perfectly focused to the issue at hand. Thank You Daniel!
Friendly provider with deep knowledge. I have only been once but he quickly diagnosed my condition and provided treatment on the spot, plus suggested at-home exercises.
Very personable and knows his stuff. Highly recommend.
I appreciate the one on one time and attention to detail that Daniel puts forth. He listens and understands what's going on with your body. It's very beneficial to have someone with his experience and understanding as your physical therapist. Although I have a chronic condition, most times I do feel better when I leave than when I arrived!
Excellent. One-on-one and superb.
Skilled and knowledgeable.
Daniel was wonderful. He was calm and reassuring and took time to explain the treatment and my conditions. He also gave me multiple, helpful suggestions about what I could do at home to make my symptoms better.
I have been visiting Dr. Maloney for a few months due to post ACL reconstruction. I travel an hour to his office and it is well worth it. He has help the progress of my knee that my orthopedic surgeon says I'm recovering faster then his typical patients. Dr. Maloney knows his stuff and will modify exercises to work the various muscles.
He is absolutely amazing. I had my first session with him yesterday and he immediately identified the problem, provided a number of simple yet effective exercises, has a fantastically calming and affirming approach to therapy, and obviously knows his stuff based on decades of experience in the PT world and as an athlete himself. Highly, highly recommend. I look forward to going back to see him and have full confidence in his ability to fix my problems and ensure that I know how to properly address issues if they do arise again.
Great evaluation - spent a lot of time observing and explaining things to me.
Is great to have ann specialist that fits your needs. So glad I found him!
Daniel Maloney provided excellent exercise therapy for me to help with my back injury. He even called me prior to my appointment to learn a bit about my injury. His explanations were clear and I could feel the positive effect they will have over time. Ron, his office assistant was excellent as well!
Dr. Daniel Maloney was the best physical therapist I have ever encountered. Prior to working with him, I went to three other PTs and none of them were as dedicated as him. He listened to everything I had to say regarding my injury and gave me exercises that truly worked my knee. The other PTs gave me basic maneuvers to do that did not feel as if they were working to strengthen my knee. I what liked best was that he work with me one-on-one for the full hour and gave me his undivided attention. His exercises were easy yet complex to work my muscles. And he gave me routines that I could do at home to further my recovery. He is amazing and I highly recommend him.
I saw Dr. Maloney when I hurt my knee training for a half marathon. He was very kind and knowledgeable. He helped me recover and provided several stretches and exercises to prevent any future injury. With his care and attention, I was able to run my half marathon and finish with a great time.
Dr Maloney was a great physical therapist. He knows his craft. He could be a little too direct somethimes, but overall it was great choice. Top-notch therapist.
He is very good!
Fanstic bedside manner. Knowledgeable. I wish I had come months ago.
From the waiting room to the PT area .I was warmly welcomed; treated respectfully and addressed in a very courteus manner. Mr Maloney had already conferenced with my MD as i was a candidate for neck and lower back surgery when I was recommended to D. Maloney. The first few sessions relief was moderate yet I knew for sure I was slowly progressing. In the meanwhile I recommended several other Performing Artists like myself(Dancer/writer) they are all immensely greatful for the referrals. Not only is D. Maloney a dedicated professional he just also happens to be a fine human being...We began working together five years ago and I have continued to create and set new works around the world with little or no pain considering the nature of my work yet more importantly...NO SURGERIES!
When I began working with Mr. Maloney I was about to schedule another surgical procedure for my lower back and sciatic nerve. I have had many. I was in extraordinary physical pain and my spirit a bit flattened as well, which seems to often accompany traumatic events. He began with an in dept work up and review of pre-existing issues and present concerns. After which he explained to me very simply the MD's orders as well as his assessment and the plan of care as per dr's orders and I have not been back to surgery since and I am presently enjoying great health and have referred many of my friends who happen to be notable personalities and professionals in the Art and Entertainment Industry. All have thanked me for Mr. Maloney's very kind caring and professional manner and Methodolgy. I am a seasoned dancer turned writer/Director. I fully reccommend Daniel Maloney as a great practitoner and a fine human being...FLW
He is one on one, so important! Very thorough and understanding. totally personalizes exercises. Always on time, gives printout of exercises to do at home. Love him!
Daniel Maloney is an excellent physical therapist. He is extremely competent and knowledgeable in all area of physical therapy. I started seeing him in 2013 when I was suffering from severe pain due to hip arthritis. Within a few sessions, I experienced great relief from the pain and continued to go to him until I decided to get a hip replacement. I went to him for follow-up therapy treatment after my operation and received excellent care. Recently, I went back to him when I was experiencing muscle pain in my leg. He immediately diagnosed my condition, and due to his treatment and exercise recommendations, I am now completely out of pain. I highly recommend Daniel Maloney and will go back to him in the future if I have any problems that require physical therapy.
I have been treated by Mr. Maloney a number of times over many years. I was a soloist in the Martha Graham Dance Company and sustained injuries during my time as a professional dancer; ankle hip, shoulder, on and on- Daniel helped me tremendously in each and every injury I sustained. Furthermore, a colleague of mine- a superb dancer from Japan- had a very serious injury to her hand, one that the best New york doctors were unable to treat. She went to Daniel, and in her words, he "made a miracle"...her hand has been fine ever since his treatment. I cannot recommend Daniel Maloney highly enough, and I am happy to write this recommendation on Zocdoc. Thank you for the opportunity. Sincerely, David Chase
I'm a professional dancer and I came in to seek help for a sudden acute injury to my lower back. I would've been fine with the treatment if Daniel would have addressed the spasms I was experiencing. He spent a great deal of time giving me exercises for stretching and strengthening but ignoring the spasms which were the sole purpose of my being there. I left feeling frustrated and my spasms had intensified. The one thing I got out of the session was knowing what specific movements irritated my initial injury. This is a great place to go if you're looking for a long term strengthening and stretching program but I would never recommend this practitioner to deal with more serious issues requiring immediate attention and relief.
He was very knowledgable.
Knowledgeable and took the time to provide a tailored session. I am impressed!
Excellent practitioner. Have been seeing Dan for a few weeks now and her is the best.
The therapist is very nice and I'll be going for the rest of my therapy need (knee surgery , acl and meniscus repair) Office is very large uniquely NYC.
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE, VERY HELPFUL.
Dr. Maloney was the paradigm that all physical therapists should be held to. I'm able to walk and run on a knee that I really thought would result in at least arthritis and general weakness. I had seen several physical therapists before Dr. Maloney and they seemed disinterested given my moderate amount of physical movement (I could walk quickly and kind of do stairs but couldn't run, squat, etc. and had been an active person pre-injury). Dr. Maloney immediately identified that the muscle had healed improperly to cope with the injury and made sure that I demonstrated understanding of the exercises before I left. It was just amazing. He was fun to hang out with during the electrostim and his assistant was so good and attentive with medical billing that when I had problems with another Dr.'s office he offered to help! How nice!
Excellent. Very helpful.
Daniel Maloney was thorough and used his skill and ability, not machines. Through adequate muscle testing and questions, he quickly got to the root of the problem. I am pleased to have found his office and look forward to gaining full mobility.
Daniel was both attentive and thorough in his explanations for various exercises and activities. I was able to see him promptly and felt he really approached my issues from multiple angles. I'll look forward to returning.
I had a very good visit with Daniel Maloney. I look forward to my next appointment. He was specific and clear in his diagnosis of my condition and I felt as if we will be working on the healing process together - not take a prescription and go home. I felt better as I left and it continues today. I am very satisfied with the treatment as a whole.
Daniel Maloney is incredibly knowledgable, gentle, and kind. Great PT!
terrible experience - total of 3 visits. runs practice out of a poorly renovated apartment. spent very little time with me, running back and forth between other patients, very rushed 20 min session. one session we didn't even do any exercises but he read me a passage about my condition from a book from the 80's. also told me to go home and do some online research on my own because he did not have time. finally stopped going after 3rd session when it became obvious he did not understand my condition or the cause of my pain. did not give me direction on what exercises to do between visits unless i asked. they have a cable modem screeching from the "reception desk", so they don't/can't pick up the phone when they use the internet - therefore hard to get thru by phone.
He very professional, and very informative!
He found his way to THE spot - between hands on treatment and exercises he had me do - I actually felt better at the end of the first visit.
Great Doctor. Dr. Maloney was incredibly knowledgeable and very hands-on in treating my injury. He's a good guy who cares about patients and takes every appointment seriously.
I thought he was very pleasant and thorough in his training. I learned a lot in my session.
Didn't bother to read my doctor's note, didn't understand what the problem was. I went to a different PT after one visit and I'm very glad that I did.
Daniel is really excellent. He knows his stuff and tailored a gradual PT program for me that really worked. i could hardly walk up and down stairs, and now I am pain free. This is not a physical therapy center where you are one of many getting treatment at the same time. It's basically one on one almost all the time. The loft is clean, casual, a bit funky, and he and his assistant are friendly, helpful, and extremely competent.
A truly experienced and caring professional.
I visited Daniel after injuring my leg during half-marathon training. I couldn't walk for over a week, so I knew I had to see a professional about it. I found Daniel through ZocDoc and couldn't be happier. He was immediately able to pin-point my pain (a strain of 2 muscles) and got me back to pain-free running in a month! In addition to KT tape and electrical stimulation, he showed me numerous exercises and stretches to get me up and running. I appreciated that for each exercise he would go over the muscle groups affected and how it would improve mobility and strength. His office is spacious and very comfortable. Since its in a sectioned off part of his apartment, it doesn't have a clinical feel. His machines are a bit outdated, but all functional.
He was very friendly, knowledgeable and has a great working space.
Very relaxed environment. Easy going, attentive man. I'm not convinced he's as knowledgeable as he could be in his field, But he definitely cares and is committed to helping.
