Denise Murdock, LCSW
Denise Murdock is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. Prior to starting her private practice at Synergy Psychiatry Center, she worked for twelve years with clients experiencing mental health crises, including suicidal clients, at a county mental health program. She has worked primarily with adults, but also has some experience with children and with Systems Family Therapy. In addition, she has worked extensively with Geriatric clients and end of life issues. Denise favors a practical approach to psychotherapy, with cognitive behavioral techniques and a compassionate, client-centered session. She believes that identifying and building on client’s strengths and resources, challenging clients to see beyond negative self-images and to incorporate new positive thought patterns, lead to better fit for clients in their environments, help to alleviate depression and anxiety, and increase confidence and self-esteem. She commonly treats clients who suffer from depression or anxiety (or both), who are working through grief or a life transition, or who are struggling with self esteem issues. She also assists people who come to her presenting as “stuck” in their personal development and lacking motivation or direction to move forward. At Synergy Psychiatry Center, Denise sees patients ages 16 years and older. Denise does not take insurance and is out-of-network for therapy patients, but she does not have a waiting list and sees patients on Fridays.
