Julia Pressman, LMSW

Julia feels that therapy is one of the best investments in yourself that you can make. She came to this work following years of personal experience in individual and group psychotherapy. Through the lens of her own work, she has come to a better understanding as she works with clients of what it can mean to be part of a relationship that can help. Julia feels that Psychotherapy is not one size fits all. However, it is a wonderful place to explore questions such as, how one operates in relation to others, the impact of the stories one shares about themselves, and what might be limiting someone from more authentic connection. Julia feels that therapy has the potential to be incredibly valuable to everyone. She studied Art History at Oberlin College and obtained a Masters in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, and graduated with Honors. She is currently pursuing advanced clinical training as a Candidate in the Four Year Psychoanalytic Training program at the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center. She is knowledgeable working with people who experience challenges related to anxiety, self esteem, relationships, and perfectionism. Outside of session, she enjoys cooking, podcasts, and pilates.read more
