Patient reviews for Samantha Barkoff, LCSW
I have been working with Samantha for almost a year now, and I have made progress that I thought was not possible. When I first starting seeing Samantha I was completely overwhelmed by daily tasks. She and I problem-solved and she helped me develop skills and strategies to deal with day-to-day functions so that I was able to feel less overwhelmed in my everyday responsibilities. She really got to know me, and helped me realized a lot of skills that I never thought I had. I continue to learn something new about myself and my strengths each time that we meet. I would highly recommend if you are looking for direction and to learn more about your strengths you should work with Samantha.
Samantha was easy to get in touch with, and had all of her paperwork online, os it was easy to fill everything out for our first meeting. You could tell that Samantha read everything I had written in the intake, and really took the time to listen to me in our initial meeting. She made me feel comfortable, and was very professional. I would highly recommend seeing her.
If you're looking for someone to be realistic with you, then I would highly recommend working with Samantha. From the first time I saw her, she held me accountable to goals that I set for myself, and helped me arrive at solutions to problems I was experiencing. Samantha gave feedback, and was always making sure that I remained focus on my end goals. The skills we worked on in the office have also made a huge impact on my everyday functioning.
Sam made me feel extremely comfortable when I came to her office, as therapy can sometimes be overwhelming. She was warm and helped me prioritize what I wanted to work on so that I was less overwhelmed with the issues I was experiencing. I felt that sams approach was realistic, and helped me understand what I needed to work on. She was extremely responsive and helpful in setting up follow-up appointments.
Such a great therapist. My child needed help with structure and executive functioning skills and has shown a huge improvement since she has started working with Samantha. I highly recommend.
Sam is easy to talk to, easy to reach & very professional - I highly recommend her!!!!
I have struggled with anxiety and a particular learning disability that both went undiagnosed my entire life. Sam’s patience, empathy and competance helped not just diagnose my issues, but come up with lifestyle routines, mindsets and exercises to help me cope and thrive despite the issues. I’ve been to many doctors in the past and have been misdiagnosed and given easy fix prescriptions that made me feel even worse physically and just not mysef. Sam on the other hand I felt took so much more care than that typica easy fix and treated me like I was her child that she would do absolutey anything for. Never did I feel like I was a patient - Sam always made me feel like I had an unconditional best friend and gave me hope with how much she cared and how her care and strategies worked better than ever imagined.
Sam is awesome. I feel like she really listened to me and understood me without without ever being condescending. She worked with me on developing strategies for managing my anxiety, amoung other things, and then helped me learn to recognize when to use them and how to implement them in the moment. She is really easy to talk to, really funny and just easy to be around.
