About Stephen Hirsch
I am a psychotherapist and work with adults, adolescents, couples and families providing both short-term and long term-psychotherapy. I practice therapy based on cognitive and relational theories, with a strengths-based approach geared to helping people reach their full potential in all life areas. I employ elements of motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and structural family therapy, and I am certified in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy by the Albert Ellis Institute. I also draw heavily from classic and existential philosophy, and other cultural influences including music and literature. I have experience working with individuals and groups facing a wide range of issues and situations. I genuinely enjoy helping people improve their ability to cope with the challenges they face. I also possess real world experience from my first career as a journalist and business executive, which helps me understand the pressures of modern urban life that underlie so much of our stress and anxiety. My goal is to help my clients regain control of their own lives in every sense, and it is my privilege to use my experience to help others in need. I believe we can train our minds to be our best friends instead of our worst enemies, and I believe that properly motivated, anybody can do anything. Sliding Scale and Packages Available.

I really enjoyed my visit and found him to be very professional, caring and compassionate. He was patient and listened to everything I had to say which gave me a sense of comfort.
Best visit I've ever had.
Stephen was fantastic. His ability to relate and provide an instant sensation of comfort while speaking with him allowed me to open up more than I have with any other therapist. He listened attentively and used his wealth of knowledge to provide constructive feedback that aided in my growth. I highly recommend seeing him and will be returning to his office again.
