"I have now seen Dr. Calico for three visits and will continue seeing her with absolutely no reservations whatsoever. When I was first exploring a new psychiatrist, looking through the reviews on Zocdoc, I was exceptionally impressed by those for Dr. Calico for their positiveness and consistency (and I read through them all and encourage you to do the same, not just to look at mine -- they are incredibly good). Now that I have spent time with Dr. Calico, I completely understand those other reviews and am fully in agreement with them. Dr. Calico has a gentle manner that fully encourages active participation by a patient, sharing what is advantageous for diagnosis and treatment. She fully encourages a back-and-forth dialog that is consistent with her overall approach of working together in a partnership between herself and the patient to achieve the best results (if you haven't carefully looked at her treatment approach on Zocdoc, I really advise you to do so and to use it to visualize working with her, as compared with any previous psychiatric treatment you have had). She is conversationally at ease and has very good intuition, often injecting helpful comments to demonstrate that she fully understands what you have said, has empathy and can offer help. Most importantly to me is the strong feeling, that I first had from reading about Dr. Calico on Zocdoc, now reinforced by time in person, that she is an extremely caring person and that she genuinely wants to use her psychiatric knowledge and experience to help her patients to the greatest extent possible. She really is a people-person and it shows in her reassuring bedside manner. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Calico to you, based on my experience with her, as well as comparison with several other psychiatrists with whom I have had significant experience in the past. She is, without doubt, the best psychiatrist I have found and I feel fortunate to have discovered her. "

"Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to meet with Dr. Fattal; however, the five minute conversation we had provided me with all the information I needed to pass on his services. I have never scheduled an appointment with a psychiatrist before. When I finally bitt the bullet and checked ZocDoc, there was only one doctor that matched my location and insurance criteria. Anxious yet optimistic, I booked an appointment. I received confirmation, and the day of I received a reminder for my appointment. Everything seemed clear. When I arrived today, twenty minutes early and extremely nervous, I sat for a while before knocking on the doctor's door. No answer, so I went back and asked the doorman if he was in. After a phone call with the doorman he came outside to meet me. Instead of greeting me and taking me into his office, he brusquely pulled me to the side of this residential building's foyer and told me that he needs to confirm the appointment, and that since he hadn't, he could niy dee me. Flabbergasted, I showed him the confirmation note I received from ZocDoc. He still blamed them, saying "This isn't how it works. You and I need to have a conversation before you come in here." I asked him if he had called me since I booked the appointment, and he said no. I explained out loud that if he failed to contact me, then it isn't in fact an error by ZocDoc; rather, he was ultimately responsible for this. At no point did he acknowledge a mistake on his end or apologize. My time was wasted because of his apparent incompetency. I don't normally write reviews for anything, but I think this is worth noting. I took a gamble on a doctor without any reviews yet on ZocDoc and was dealt a miserable experience. There was no empathy from Dr. Fattel - he didn't seem to feel any guilt or regret from his mistake - he just refused to see me. It takes courage to ask for help. Whether it's incompetence or lack of empathy, this is not how you treat people who are asking for your help. If you, like me, have never seen a psychiatrist before, Dr. Fattel is a lousy introduction. "
