These successful practices deploy a range of tactics to achieve this aim and stand out to patients.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Fast Access<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The typical Zocdoc booking is for an appointment that takes place within 24 to 72 hours, which tells us that near-term availability is a crucial component to serving patient needs and building trust. Our data shows that large provider groups offer more same-day, next-day and three-day appointments than sprawling health systems. Large provider groups deploy a job-creating and cost-effective solution: Nearly half staff with advanced practice providers (APPs) \u2014 nurse practitioners and physician assistants, \u201cas well as other licensed non-physician providers, including certified nurse midwives, clinical nurse specialists and certified registered nurse anesthetists,\u201d per the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajmc.com\/view\/current-evidence-and-controversies-advanced-practice-providers-in-healthcare\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">American Journal of Managed Care<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 compared to just 1 in 3 health systems.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17819\" src=\"https:\/\/thescript.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/In-script_3-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"457\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thescript.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/In-script_3-1.jpg 960w, https:\/\/thescript.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/In-script_3-1-300x143.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thescript.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/In-script_3-1-768x366.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Offering care through APPs increases overall provider availability, and high-performing practices know that APPs allow more patients to receive treatment without compromising quality of service. Over a 90-day period, our data showed that practices with APPs had more than double the provider availability of their counterparts.
