About Dr. Huy Nguyen
Dr. Huy D. Nguyen is board certified in family medicine and serves the Lutz, Florida area as part of BayCare Medical Group, where he sees patients age 18 and older. His clinical interests include hypertension, weight loss, ADHD, diabetes, cholesterol, sports-related injuries and joint injections. He completed an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. He then earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. Dr. Nguyen continued his medical education by completing a family medicine residency at the University of Incarnated Word/Graduate Medical Education and Research in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Nguyen’s philosophy in medicine is to treat his patients how he would want to be treated and all patients are like family. Professional and kind staff. Parking was simple. Only difficulty was that the text reminder told me the wrong office suite. Otherwise the doctor and resident were professional and easy to talk to. I even forgot to ask a question and turned back around to ask the front desk about my question. A nurse came out, listened to my question and brought back the answer from the doctor. That's the customer service I'm looking for!

Dr. Nguyen is a friendly, polite, professional, and kind physician. Great at listening, taking in information, and makes you feel comfortable to be open and share details of what you may be noticing/experiencing. You feel he's being earnest about what he's seeing/not seeing in his examinations and offering helpful recommendations, outlining next steps, and managing expectations. Happy to have a PCP who you can both trust and provide really straightforward guidance.

This was my initial visit with this doctor. He was a very nice, younger doctor who listened to my history and asked good questions. He was personable, we laughed a few times, and he was very accommodating and efficient.

Great location for me and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Dr Nguyen was on time, he listened, and he was very thorough. My only complaint is that the Zocdoc app has the wrong suite number for the doctor which sent me to the second floor at suite 200 when in fact he’s in suite 100 and it made me arrive a little later than I wanted to for my first appointment with him. Other than that, it was a great visit and I would highly recommend this Physician.

I was not able to see the doctor because for some reason their system showed my appointment was canceled whereas I had all texts and reminders showing up my appointment as scheduled. On top of it the front desk lady (Ms. Veronica) was rude and not at all empathetic and helpful . I had to talk to 4 different staff members to get a simple apology as well! Very very disappointed!!
