Getting to know Katherine Lance
**If you are an adult scheduling for a minor, please anticipate a call within the next 24 hours to confirm and complete the scheduling process.**
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Foresight, passionate about assisting people in achieving goals and finding meaning. I help individuals navigate life transitions and stress by using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based approaches, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to increase insight, build on strengths, challenge negative thought patterns, learn effective communication skills, and improve self-esteem and relationships.
My specialty areas include trauma, anxiety, depression, women’s issues, grief/loss, and coping skills. I utilize trauma-focused therapy and mindfulness-based approaches with those who have experienced trauma and abuse, attending to the wounds of the past while living in the present. With grief and loss, I help individuals find a balance between facing loss and re-engaging with life afterward. While anxiety and depression may lead to feeling alone, know that in therapy, I work alongside you to collaborate on ways to improve the quality of your life.
I believe in self-compassion and compassion for others. Seeing adults, older adults, and adolescents, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for people to share openly and honestly. I consider it a privilege to join you on your journey. Together, we can discover and work on what is important to you.
I earned my Master’s in Counseling from the University of Akron, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support you effectively.
