Getting to know Kirstie McFadden
Throughout my career, I have worked directly with people in a variety of settings, including child welfare, home health and hospice, crisis intervention, aging, and supporting adults with disabilities. Working with crisis clients in a community mental health setting inspired me on my path to supporting individuals in their healing journey. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the University of Denver, which has further equipped me to provide compassionate and effective care.
What should a new client know about working with you?
In session I strive to be present, attentive, curious and non-judgmental to learn about each person's unique life experiences. Being a trauma survivor myself, I believe in the strength and resiliency that exists in each and every one of us. I will work collaboratively with you to help you identify strategies and solutions to address any of your challenges.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, client-centered and relationship-based; focusing on empowering client’s to make positive changes in their lives, developing their own tools and coping skills. I tailor my approach to the individual needs of each client, combining evidence-based practices with creative solutions to address each person’s individual unique life challenges.

Kirstie has a never-ending slate of resources that she pulls from to help me. Everything we discuss has been helpful, and I appreciate her listening to me and then giving thoughtful replies.

Kirstie is very good at what she does. She is a good listener, she responds thoughtfully to my concerns, and she has a lot of valuable information and resources that she is quick to share. I’ve been in therapy for @30 years and I’ve learned more from her than any other therapist I’ve had.

Kirstie is an absolute godsend. She’s the kind of therapist you hope to find once in a lifetime—deeply present, insightful, compassionate, and masterful in her EMDR work. Every session felt like a safe return to myself. She helped me unpack some of the most difficult experiences of my life with grace and gentleness, and I’m walking away stronger, clearer, and more grounded than I’ve felt in years.

I have seen a few therapists over the last 25 years and Kirstie McFadden is by far the most helpful, well-resourced, understanding, and helpful therapist I've worked with. I highly recommend her.

My provider, K. McFadden, is really really good at what she does. She listens and always has gentle, helpful feedback. With her guidance EMDR has been very helpful and has helped me to reframe a number of traumatic events in my life. She is also super helpful if I ask for additional reading material.
