Getting to know Sharon Bowen
As a therapist, I am driven by the desire to help individuals rediscover their voices-whether they feel they have lost it or have never had it in the first place. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support my clients on their journeys toward healing and self-expression.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My therapeutic approach primarily incorporates Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, CBT, and holistic methods, emphasizing the treatment of the whole self. With over 12 years of experience as a social worker, I have advocated for families and children and focused on mental health across clinical, community, and hospital settings.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I have had the privilege of working with people from diverse backgrounds, with a particular focus on supporting the LBTIQ+ community and other marginalized groups.
