About Dr. Anupama Parameswaran

Dr. Anu Parameswaran is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical dermatology. She manages numerous skin conditions in adults and children. She was raised in New York and received her medical degree from the University at Buffalo, graduating magna cum laude. During medical school, she received both the Gold Humanism Honor Society award for being a role model for exceptional patient and clinical care and the John Paroski MD Memorial Award for compassion and excellence in patient care. She furthered her training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, as well as at the University of Massachusetts, where she had the honor of serving as chief dermatology resident. Prior to joining our practice, Dr. Parameswaran was an Assistant Professor at the NYU Department of Dermatology, where she established a hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) specialty clinic, co-founded the Skin of Color division, and supervised and taught residents and medical students. In addition, she co-managed the inpatient dermatology service in Brooklyn, where she had the privilege of caring for hospitalized patients with severe skin disease. Outside of work, Dr. Parameswaran enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, biking and exploring new restaurants. Dr. Parameswaran’s goal is to ensure that all her patients feel safe, heard, and well cared for.

The doctor had no idea how peripheral neuropathy might affect the skin on the toes that are numb. I find this baffling. She spoke at me and not to me. It was very disturbing. Her assistant was very sweet and nice though. I spent more time talking to her as she intently listened than the doctor.
Went for various issues with my skin, Dr P screened each one and put me at ease. Highly recommend her as she provides on point diagnosis and prescriptions for healing.

I went to see Dr. P because I’ve had a sore on my lip for 1.3 years that just wouldn’t heal. From the moment I met her, she was incredibly caring and attentive. She asked thoughtful questions and took the time to understand everything I had tried in the past that hadn’t worked. Her optimism and confidence in the treatment she prescribed gave me real hope. She explained that the medication should help regenerate the skin, and I left feeling truly grateful and encouraged. I’m looking forward to my follow-up appointment and hopefully seeing new skin growth. I had my first visit with Dr. P. Today, and I loved her. She is approachable, friendly, tactful and very competent. She gave me the most thorough body check I have had in my life. She even checked in between my toes! Her assistant is a sweetheart, and the office staff is welcoming and very courteous. Honestly, I think I won the lottery!
MD was in and out in three minutes. I spent more time speaking with her nurse who asked me questions and showed empathy towards my concerns than the MD herself. I picked this MD based on reviews, needless to say those reviews must have been from years ago. She came in swiftly looked over my concern, told me a long medical term of what she believed it to be, told me to live with it or get surgery to remove it but she wouldn't advise it and to use sunscreen. No biopsy, further assessment was done of the area of concern. As she was walking back toward the door, asked me if there was anything else, and then took off. She was quick, lacked any bedside manner, or concern of a person's anxiety with such a visit. Definitely will not be coming back here nor do I recommend this MD.
The doctor was very rushed. Spent only a few minutes talking to me and taking the biopsy sample. I had to talk to the tech to get all me cancer cell question addressed.

The doctor made me feel confident that she knew what she was doing and that I was going to be fine. But she had a script that she repeated each time she saw the same thing and it seemed pretty impersonal. I can see that one might get a bit mechanical doing repetitive work and trying to see as many patients as possible. I was grateful to get an appointment relatively quickly and get good care in a clean place.

It was conveniently located. Not too far from my house. The Dr was very warm and friendly. She reviewed my concerns and recommended treatment. I started having swelling in my leg immediately after an injury. I told her PA this, and that it was my primary complaint. After having to repeat my story to her again, because she clearly hadn't listened to her PA, the doctor essentially told me that it's not her problem, and to follow up with my primary care doctor. She even said "the swelling and the injury could even be completely unrelated" Complete waste of my time.
