Dr. Brian Zelickson is one of the distinguished dermatologists at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
He is nationally recognized for his accomplishments and contributions to laser medicine and surgery. His special medical interests include laser tissue interaction and teledermatology. Although he has extensive training in all aspects of dermatology, he has completed fellowships and training in electron microscopy of the skin, cutaneous light and laser interactions and laser therapy.
Dr. Zelickson graduated from the University of Colorado in 1982 and the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minn., in 1986. His post–graduate medical training included one year at the Hennepin County Medical Center and three years at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine. In 1990, he received special training in Immunoelectron microscopy under a fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
He has published more than 30 medical journal articles and has 15 medical patents, including medical device patents and treatment methodology patents. Most recently, Dr. Zelickson developed and launched MD Complete, a skin care product line providing professional anti-aging and skin clearing benefits based upon his clinical experience,
knowledge and research.
Dr. Zelickson is currently a member of the faculty at the University of Minnesota Medical School’s Department of Dermatology. He is also director of that department’s Electron Microscopy Laboratory. Mpls.St.Paul Magazine has repeatedly named him one of the Twin Cities’ Top Doctors. He is one of the few physicians in the world who participates in developing on-going medical technology development for dermatology.

The dermatologist was inadequate with me. He quizzed me on whether or not I remembered a long medical name when he easily could have brought it up himself. At no point did he use a machine to verify my condition. I showed him a mole and he didn't even ask me whether it had changed color! The advice he gave me for a lotion was the exact opposite of my problem. Lastly, his "bedside manner" was lacking and came off as arrogant.

The office was clean, check-in was easy on a tablet, and the staff was nice. The providers here cannot prescribe certain medications. If all you need are topical medications or cosmetic procedures, this practice will probably meet your needs, but if you need anything beyond that, look elsewhere.

I have been bringing my son to see him. Unfortunately, my son is not always the most cooperative patient. Dr. Zelickson has always been very kind, patient, and understanding.

I really liked this experience, it is my first time going to a dermatologist since my teens and I got a skin cancer screening done in office same day! I wasn't sure I'd be able to get a full body scan but they were happy to do that in that same appointment which I loved because I was only able to book as a consult. I have a clear bill of health and somewhere to set up my following yearly exams (high genetic history of skin cancers in my immediate family)

I am an existing patient with Zel but received a pre checkin request via text and provided my information again (insurance card etc) when I got to the office I was asked for all of the same information again.
Dr. Zelickson does not seem to have much time for the patient and not very thorough.
I usually see Dr. Meighan who I really like. She is very thorough and attentive I will continue to see her but will never request Dr. Zelickson again
